Well that was different
Bank, you haven’t lived until you hook an 8’ gator ?. It was resting on the bottom in January in about 3’ of water. Hooked it in the back with a rattletrap. I knew what it was after a minute or two into the battle when I couldn’t get it to come up. It finally did and after that, said I’ve had enough and fortunately when it surged, the lure came free. Being down here in Florida we have gators chase bait all the time. I’ve caught a few water snakes too. None got hooked, they just hold onto it.

Well that was different
Jar it was ?. And yes, seagull are notorious for attacking top waters. This stretch of the river had a younger owl that would fly and land on a buddy’s boat and wait for a handout. This one was full grown but might be the same one now that it’s older.

Well that was different
Yesterday, early morning, I’m fishing a frog against a bank with trees on it. As I’m working the frog through some pads I look away for a second and feel a pull on my line. I look back and an owl is flying off with my frog. ? Fortunetly it dropped it when it felt tension and I didn’t have to deal with sharp talons and a beak. It flew back into the tree and continued to watch the bait as I worked down the shore, even walking up the branch to get a better look at it as I moved away. I’ve had herons and other birds attack baits but never an owl. That was the only hit I had on it that day?

Is this this a good deal?
Agree

Swim Jigs
I was like you, until I started using swim jigs. I find I use it a lot like I would a TX rig worm but it is more weed less in most cover and typically get larger fish. Black/blue, pumpkin, bluegill and shad (white or white combo) are all you need.

Tide master was actually their saltwater inshore series. I don’t think they have made them in awhile but could be wrong. Still a St. Croix but will have a different action than the bass version.

Such a Shame
Same down here in Debary Mike. St. John’s river void of anything but pads. Lake Monroe the same, nothing. It looks like interstate 4 on any weekend with all the boats. From jet skies to 40’ center consoles on a river that’s not 100 yards across in most places.

MLF Stage 6 Cayuga
Nope. I enjoyed the tournament in Texas where they were flipping brush and trees but still don’t enjoy watching these competitors looking at their screens for hours on end.

MLF Stage 6 Cayuga
Nothing more boring than watching someone looking at a video screen for hours. It’s why I don’t watch MLF much anymore. Sorry, that’s just me.

Anyone here fish the Harris Chain?
Phil, I’d love to fish the Harris Chain with you. I fished it some back in the 80’s but only been once since then. I’m semi retired, live in Debary and only fish weekdays. I’ll message you my contact info. Thanks for the offer.

Falcon lowriders
Thanks for the info cast by and cbump. Cb, I’m using the head Turner as my frog rod but mainly more open cover. I like the way I can work the frogs with the slightly shorter rod. But that just me. And I agree with your last comment too. WTH. Cast by, that’s what I needed to hear as well. The amisted seemed like it might be too heavy for what I want.

Falcon lowriders
Has anyone tried the Lizard Dragger for Carolina rigs? I have the Head Turner and love it for frog fishing. Also, any feedback on the Amisted as a t rig worm and 1/4-1/2 oz jig rod?

What Time of Day for your PB
Super Bowl Sunday about noon early February on Lake Marion. The last couple of cast with a chrome/blue rattle trap. 11-3 2nd DD was the morning a couple days after a hurricane came through central Florida. The water was flowing heavily out of Shingle Creek and redirecting when it hit Mackison Island in lake Toho. I was fishing the island side when I heard schoolers bust behind me towards the creek. I was throwing a 3” Bagley top water rear prop bait and threw it at the schoolers. Got distracted by commotion back at the island before my bait moved a foot and about ripped the rod out of my hand while looking the other way when it hit. That one was 10-14

Orange and Lochloosa Lake?
Phil, read on another site that they are catching fish on Orange but the hydrilla is thick. Mainly punching.

How much do you tip a guide?
As long as the guide tries his best, at least in my eyes, he’s getting a tip. Whether I do my part or not. It’s usually 15% or more. What won’t tolerate is a guide that fishes, unless I suggest he does. All I ask is to be put in the right location and advised what to use and I’ll take it from there.

Lew’s customer service
Bird, sales is one thing but how they handle warranties is another. We will see. Hopefully they visit here.

Lew’s customer service
?? Had a 6 month old KVD jerk bait rod break 11” from the tip last week bringing a 12” bass into the boat. I’ve contacted them 3 different days and left messages but no response. I hope this isn’t how they handle all their warranty issues.

Ulterra issues
Bull, is that something that Minn Kota states in their manuals. We maybe not the lube part?

Ulterra issues
Anyone had any issues with the Ulterra stow and deploy? Seems there are quite a few on an internet search.

Shorter Frog/Jig Rod
Mountain, tip is fast which make walking and casting a frog effortless. It’s rated heavy so it loads up quick. I bought it off here from one of our members (great seller BTW). Because of this rods action and lightness, I’m going to get the Lowrider Amisted for worms & jigs.
