  1. I had been throwing them on a Dobyns Fury 704CB but just picked up a Lews KVD 6-8” jerk bait rod and love it. Short handle, light, fast tip with a lot of backbone. And pretty inexpensive at about $130. Reel is an old Citica with 12# big game.
  2. I’m on the list so I assume I’m good?
  3. To ask a dumb question, how do you know when it’s titanium without the package?
  4. Producto lures made some of the first junebug worms followed by culprit, at least here in Florida. We always said when you buy a Florida fishing license, you should get junebug worms, a chrome blue rattletrap, a white spinnerbait and a silver Rapala and you can catch bass anywhere in the state.
  5. Mike, we can wait. Just get mama better and then we’ll figure it out. The fish will be there when we get there.
  6. Seems I’m on the right track. Thanks guys.
  7. Junebug has been our best worm and claw colors. I’ll try the dark spinnerbaits? Just to clarify about the lay downs. I’m not talking about a single one by itself along a bank. There are sections where there will be one or multiples every 20’ for almost a 100 yards. Then maybe a stretch of pads for 100’ then more wood.
  8. AJ, the jackhammer comment was reference to another recent post about loosing them around wood. Scaleface, majority of these trees are old and been in the water for years. A lot of them you can’t even see or know they are there as they are under water.
  9. Yea I thought the jig/craw would be the ticket too but just hasn’t panned out for me. My wife fishes a plastic worm 90% of the time out of the back of the boat and typically catches the majority of them so I know worms work. Just looking for other options. Catt, any particular color of the x80 that stands out?
  10. What have y’all found to be your favorite colors for down and side scan? Right now I’m using blue for side and Amber for down. Console unit is a Lowrance Elite ti, bow unit is Garmin UHD 93. Curious what works for you guys.
  11. Hey guys, what have you found to be your best baits for fishing wood, mainly lay downs? Water depth ranges from 2’ to 6-8’. There is current as well that changes velocity. Dark clear water, tannin stained mostly. I've tried square-bills with very limited success and don’t dare throw a jackhammer ?
  12. Rods, reels or line no. I have bought some lured based on pros performance on lakes I fish here in central Florida, specifically Kissimmee Chain, Harris Chain snd St Johns river. I do listen to what JT says as he fishes a lot of where I fish. Plus he’s a hoot.
  13. Funny thing about chatterbaits, I couldn’t catch many bass on them until this year. Swim jigs we’re my money bait but not this year. Go figure. Senkos, speed worms and top waters were disappointing for me this past year. Will have to see how much time they get this year.
  14. Ended up getting the Garmin UHD 93 sv from West Marine for $699 as their sale started last weekend. Already installed.
  15. What Mike and Geo said. Uncle Joe’s cut is where I’d start and there used to be some “cuts” along it that would allow you to go through and fish protected areas, but don’t know if they exist anymore. Crankbaits in the rim canal have won many tournaments on the big O.
  16. Back in the late 80’s I won a new boat, motor and trailer in a raffle from the World Bass Association. The WBA was headquartered out of Daytona Beach FL. They had a members only raffle for one of the boats they used in the Battle of the Sexes tournament that was held on lake Eufaula previously that year. Story is it was the boat Tommy Martin used. It was a 1750 Drifter ( local boat company) with a 150 evinrude and trailer. Blue flake with yellow stripe ( their corporate colors). I painted the yellow stripe silver which helped. Had it for a couple years before loosing it in a divorce.
  17. Thanks Henry, that’s what I was looking for?
  18. 12lb just fishing inland lakes/rivers. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it’s my understanding that the 93 is loaded with inland lakes maps while the 94 has the coastal maps.
  19. I’m looking to get a Garmin 9sv UHD. If anyone sees a good deal on one please post here. Thanks in advance.
  20. Mike I can do Toho or Harris as I live in Debary. Maybe Phil will chime in on Harris.
  21. Good luck A-Jay and have a safe trip.
  22. Thanks slone. Hadn’t been on here in awhile and didn’t see yours. Wondered why I didn’t get any responses. ?
  23. Pretty much how I feel. Mods move if not appropriate for here.
