  1. Chrome blue rat-l-trap 11-3 Bagely spinner minnow top water 10-14 Senko and chatter bait 9-9
  2. Got it earlier this year and closed credit card. Fortunately I didn’t have any charges on mine. Still very reluctant to do business with them.
  3. Heading there tomorrow
  4. A-Jay, what boxes are those your using for the swim baits?
  5. Yes I’ll see if they can.
  6. Tournament’s as old school as you can get? Scissor flipping, frogs, buzz baits, swim & vibe jigs fishing brush, trees and stumps. No live scopes, even checking water depth with their rods (which we always called a Florida depth finder?).
  7. Tom, pretty much what I was thinking too. Only question is mono or flouro. I like and use Big Game but think flouro might give me a little more strike detection and hook setting ability due to the lower stretch in the deeper open water.
  8. Sorry. Open water over shell beds or underwater grass. Being in Florida, there’s always a chance for a big fish too but probably 2-4 lbs on average. Jig heads would be heavier gauge due to the possible big fish scenario.
  9. What’s y’all preference for fishing 3.5 to 4” swim baits ( 1/4-3/8 jig heads) in 6-10’ of water for largemouth. If baitcast what line size type? Same question if spinning. I have 7’ rods in both. Mainly trying to dial in line size and type.

  11. Thanks so far guys. I’ll check these out. I think the big ez needs at least a 5/0 hook, and preferable a long shank.
  12. I’m looking for a 1/4 oz swim bait head that will work with bigger swim baits like a Gambler big ez. Point me in the right direction guys. Thanks.

  14. If you could have got it with a net, it’s a catch.
  15. Having been born and grown up in so Florida, Plantation to be exact, this is what I remember the most. We would fish some days and not see another person. I lived there from 59-84 before peacocks were abundant. They were mostly in Miami area. But I’ve been down a few times in the past and caught them in the canals in west Broward county where Plantation is.
  16. What part of the river were you on?
  17. Had this in other species with no replies hopefully mods will let it stay here for a short time. Looking for recommendations for a striper and hybrid guide in northern Alabama. Personal experience a plus. Thanks
  18. What Catt said. The daylight hours are what they are. The only thing that would change is the time. Winter has less daylight hours while summer has more. It’s all about the sun and it’s position, has nothing to do with the actual hour.
  19. I prefer MLF ‘s format, in that they weight and release the fish where it’s caught. I’ve never been a big fan of taking fish and transplanting them sometimes miles from where caught. I understand it’s only 5 per angler but when multiplied by a full field and multiple days, it adds up. I would like to see MLF have a circuit that uses their weight and release but limit it to the top 5 biggest.

  21. 2 hours for a day trip. But I’m in Florida. For Headwaters/Stick Marsh for instance, it’s exactly 2 hours so I’m up at 4:30 to get everything moving to get there by around sunrise. Usually quit around 2-2:30 to avoid some of the I-95/expressway rush hour traffic as I usually go during the week. For an overnight I’d say 4 hours but if driving that far, it would probably be more than just overnight. When I would go to deer hunt with my buddy in KY, it was a 13 hours drive each way but I was there for a week but drove the 13 in a day. Not anymore though.
  22. My fishing partner (wife) prefers to fish a t rig worm so I’ll fish other baits, typically faster moving baits, to try and figure out what’s going to work that day. Most of the time she will outfish me. But I think the combination of me throwing moving/different baits helps us as I may have alerted the fish but not caught it while she will come behind a catch the fish that I didn’t. If something I’m throwing starts to work better, she will switch too. As for your situation, I’d talk to him and let him know your concerns. Maybe suggest when he catches something on his moving baits that you slow down and work the area over at a slower pace. In the meantime, consider going to a speed worm with a little heavier weight or a swim jig.
  23. I just bought a St. Croix Victory 7’1” for my wife as her worm rod. I can’t get over how light it is. It’s a full 1.5 ozs lighter than her previous. Made in USA and under $200 too. I would look at the Victory line, I don’t think you’ll be sorry.
  24. As the old saying goes “ No pictures, no proof”. ?
