Price to sell cranks to co worker that needs some
Yeah, $2 is good. I just know when someone makes me a deal like that, it's a totally different thing. When someone gives me something, even like a bag of worms, it means a lot more than the price of a bag of worms. I'm like eternally grateful. I don't know why. I guess these days when you feel like you're getting shafted everywhere, it's really refreshing for someone to be nice enough to give you something for free.

Price to sell cranks to co worker that needs some
Is it a good coworker or a bad coworker? ? I mean, if it's a good friend, I would just give them to him for free. It might pay off in more than the money some day.

VMC Drop Dead Weighted Hook and Toads
5/0 is too big (long) in my opinion. I bought several packs of those on clearance at Academy for like 50 cents a pack thinking they'd be good for toads, but it didn't work out. Great hooks, but I can't find a good use for the 5/0 size. I could post a picture of a horny toad rigged on one if you haven't ordered them yet.

Can anyone name a tube in this color?

eagle claw hook eyes not fully closed, there's a gap!
I've seen that on Eagle Claw EWG hooks. One thing you don't want to do is use a loop knot - it can fall through that gap. I've lost nice fish like that. If you use a knot like a San Diego Jam, that gap is not a big concern. I close the gap with pliers, even though many people will tell you it weakens the metal. I'm sure it does, but I don't think it weakens it enough to be a concern. There are other brands that don't have that issue, and some hooks are designed specifically to avoid that like VMC's with the Resin Closed Eye.

Painting Bullet Weights Black
I buy unpainted, and paint them with flat black nail polish. I think it's kind of like attractants - who knows whether it makes a difference? It looks better to me, so it makes me happy at least.

Post Your Favorite Dog-Walking Lures
Dang, it’s only been a week or so since the last walking bait thread. lol. If I had to choose just one, I prefer the Sexy Dawg Jr., but I’d rather have a variety. They all walk, but they can look very different. A Heddon Spit'n Image, for example, has a much tighter circle and bobs a lot more. It’s a totally different look from the Sexy Dawg Jr. I just got a TWS from Academy that’s very similar to the Sexy Dawg Jr., much cheaper, walks almost as good, buy they don’t have as good a color choice. Spooks are great, all sizes. I was looking at those in the store the other day. Very tempting colors, like all Yo-zuri stuff. Do those cast well? They have ribs, and I've found ribs cut down on casting distance.

Walking Bait ID
Okay, yeah, I see the Junior now, I wasn't seeing it before. They just show the picture of the middle size one on Tackle Warehouse. It still doesn't look like exactly the same lure or color though. I could be wrong too. It's definitely very close. Maybe it's just a difference of age. EDIT: The color is Sexy Ghost Minnow. That's got to be it.

Walking Bait ID
That's what I thought it was at first, but for one thing, it's only got two hooks. Sexy Dawg, even the small one, has three. The gill pattern is a little different too. There's a lot of lures that look similar. I spent a while looking at walking baits on Tackle Warehouse, but gave up.

Walking Bait ID
Anyone know which walking bait this is? Bonus points for naming the color. Someone I knew was throwing it out because the hooks were rusted. lol. That was a few years ago, I don't know how old it is. I lost it today. It had been very good to me.

"Subtle Changes "
It’s not the size of the boat, it's the motion in the ocean.

Waterproof footwear options that are easy on the back
Those look like they have better tread than other crocs. If they're made for the medical trade, they probably cost 100% more, just because.

Major Pfleuger Pres XT reel failure at worst possible time
So did you have to turn that little nub to get the fish in, or did you have to pull the line by hand? I bought my first Pflueger President about four years ago, based on its reputation. Bail spring broke within a month or so and I've had other problems with it, so I bought a Legalis XH a year later and have loved it. I've had good luck with Daiwa and Shimano. Never tried Lew's reel.

Water treatment plant
I think every state has information available on specific bodies of water and specific species of fish, whether they are safe to eat. Usually there's a recommended limit to how often you should eat fish caught at a particular location. A quick search turns up this website for NJ: https://www.state.nj.us/dep/dsr/njmainfish.htm There's an interactive map there that might give you info on the lake you're talking about.

Clearing out a nasty backlash, big tank LM decides to hit topwater hard…..
It’s funny how many people have had this happen to them. It’s happened to me more than once. It’s pretty common. The obvious lesson to learn is to slow down.

Judging casting or target distance
Counting revolutions when retrieving can give you an idea, using a combinations of the suggestions above, but knowing the distance after you’ve retrieved might not be very helpful if the reason you want to know is if you have hit your sonar target. You could mark your line with colored Sharpies at certain measurements. I guess a fishing line counter might work. I’ve never used one.

Judging casting or target distance
I use a parking lot to measure off line sometimes. Just measure one parking spot and multiply.

Clear Coating Your Lures
To be clear, I was talking about nail polish, not car paint. I don't know why I assumed that's what you were talking about.

Pond Hoppin’ w/ Gators around
Shook the boater up too, I imagine ? I try to look exactly at the spot where I am going to step. If there's a snake off to the side of the trail, it doesn't matter as much, because it's not likely to bother you (unless it's a crazy moccasin). It's hard to stay focused on that spot and not look around, but to avoid stepping on a snake, that's really what you need to do. You can be looking right at a copperhead in leaves and not even see it.

Clear Coating Your Lures
I haven't used it for that particular purpose, but I've used it when the paint starts bubbling on lures that I've found that have been in the water for years, and it works for that. I can't imagine what the downside is for adding a coat. I would expect the added weight to be negligible. Using nail polish on large areas is not easy though. It dries too fast.

The Found Lures Thread
That's a Strike King Hybrid Hunter in the bottom right corner, right? I noticed you posted a picture a while back of a catch with one of those in the blue craw color. Do you have much luck with that? I found one in that same color and I like it and have thrown it a lot, but haven't had any luck with it yet.

Palomar Hard as Heck for Me to Tie
Dr. Egon Spengler: Don't cross the streams. Dr. Peter Venkman: Why? Dr. Egon Spengler: It would be bad. Dr. Peter Venkman: I'm fuzzy on the whole good/bad thing. What do you mean, "bad"? Dr. Egon Spengler: Try to imagine all life as you know it stopping instantaneously and every molecule in your body exploding at the speed of light. Dr. Peter Venkman: Right. That's bad. Okay. All right. Important safety tip. Thanks, Egon.

Pond Hoppin’ w/ Gators around
I've fished around gators a little, so I understand why everyone is saying to worry more about the snakes, but there have been a few people killed down there, right? Like a guy at a Disney lake, wasn't there? Maybe people trying to take a selfie with the gator, or riding the gator? ?
