  1. Sale was just for the Essence, afaik, which is exactly what I had an eye on.
  2. Me too. If it shows up in one piece tomorrow it'll get a workout right afterward.
  3. I just saw on their FB page that they've been closed since Thursday as they have a booth at the Classic Expo. One guy elsewhere was able to grab a new Daiwa TW 80 from them.
  4. Drop shotting feels like slow death to me even when at times it's the only thing I should be doing. Throwing a wacky rig is pure joy in comparison. I'm really going to try to get over it this season.
  5. Unlikely. There are several friction points in the clutch mechanicals of any reel. They're all quite similar regardless of brand. If sparingly lubed or dry enough the problem you're having can be caused by this, but that isn't the only possibility. My brother's Curado K came out of the box with this issue. A quick lube straightened it out and it's been fine since.
  6. They communicate, and the 10% off discount is nice too.
  7. So call them directly. Unless they're at the Classic someone there will pick up and not from a call center.
  8. P.S. They ship super fast. I ordered a Zillion G on a Friday at 3:30 pm and it arrived the following Monday. Same with the Daiwa Catalina TW I ordered from them a year and a half earlier.
  9. First class in every way.
  10. Don't be silly. Who's saying it's the wand, not the wizard? Nobody here is that dumb, AFAIK. You're putting a twist on the OP's question, I think anyway. He's whacky, so perhaps you've nailed the spirit of it. My interpretation of it, hence my opinion, is that four specific rods are bare bones minimum for a touring pro or anyone else to be able to fish competitively in most conditions. Add line/leader changes to adjust for whatever cover.
  11. I don't believe he was. Just flippin the bird at 'em.
  12. You'd think, but bean counters count beans. We'll have to see once someone has a hold of one or a vid comes out of a japanese enthusiast site. The bigger sites often get them quickly for 1st impressions. We can pretend it is. Can't we?? For all we know they could be calling double crank bearings Hyper Double Support , which is SOP with them already. Would they do us dirty like that?
  13. A crappie bite is a good sign around here. I believe their schools chasing bait gets the bait running out of the deep water and gets the bass moving after them.
  14. I guess you've never bailed hay or hand split cord wood.
  15. The 7'6" MHF Essence. Supposed to come by Monday. Fingers crossed that the tube doesn't get karate chopp'd en route.
  16. My fishing buddy has two Feathers with Alde 50s on them. It truly feels like fishing with nothing. Impossibly light combos.
  17. I ordered the 1/8 oz "Glow" not understanding beforehand they need to be charged with light in order to glow. They'll get some stick on silver eyes. I'm definitely going to try them in a bunch different of baits too. Cool.
  18. Now you're the Phenix whisperer? Oh boy. We'll see. After I ordered the ARK rod my bank account threatened to take out a restraining order against me.
  19. A person will need more than an elite mindset to punch mats or pitch jigs into heavy cover. ...says the man with 300 rods.?
  20. MF spinning rod MH casting rod H casting rod XH casting rod Change line for different conditions and baits, adjust drag accordingly, and there isn't much you can't do with these four, but BLEEP that.
  21. I have both screens up. Watching both. Wheeler's out of sight. Wesley Strader just missed a fish and blew a gasket.
  22. The lit on the Daiwa link you provided says double support, so that means at least the pinion is supported. Metal handle sideplate, so that's cool. No playing around. If in the end we get a free floating spool too this one should nicely fill the spot right below the Zillion G. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Daiwa_Tatula_SV_TW_70_Casting_Reel/descpage-DEG.html
  23. G-man just bagged a chunk. Way more funk already than yesterday's dinkfest.
  24. I figured I'd give these a shot. I'm hopeful they're somewhat Pickerel proof with their Elaztec material. These monsters keep shredding some of my favorite discontinued bass slaying JDM swimmers.
