JDMfishing.com legit?
Try this place for hard to find discontinued Daiwa parts. They had a gearset and other small parts I couldn't find elsewhere. Make a request in the text box if you don't see the parts you need listed and a human will call you back. Better yet just call. Cynthia is thorough, will dig around, and easy to deal with., and they don't gouge on shipping. Parts – Platinum Parts & Services LLC (fishingreelparts.com) Platinum Parts & Services 4817 N. 200 size baitcasters
Not knocking it. I have one. My brother recently sent his Tranx 200 and Curado 200 packing because he prefers the Tat 200 over both. Now he has 3. He got tired of fiddling with the SVS adjustments. On the other hand, he loves his Tranx 300 and Curado 300 with their old school VBS brakes.

200 size baitcasters
420 feet is a stupid amount of line for a bass reel.

200 size baitcasters
It's the same frame size as a Curado K 200. Tatula 150/200 shown on top. Curado K 200 on bottom. True.

Smash Tech Worms?
Take a look at this 5/0 VMC hook's length compared to the Trokar 5/0 worm hook. If its length gets you into the egg sack when T-rigging, durability will go up, especially on harder casts. Its 1/16oz belly weight is inconsequential. The stock spring keeper is shown on the middle hook. I upgraded to the Owner CPS Large shown on the bottom hook.

What tactic have you completely given up on?
My brother! Are we an army of two??I always have a single Jackhammer or Thunder Cricket rigged with a Missle Baits Baby D Stroyer trailer, but all of my other chatters are rigged with 4"-5" paddle tails, usually a Deisel Minnow or Big Hammer, and they're rigged right side up. My biggest and best fish overall last year came on those baits rigged that way. The Zako and Razor Shad have been total duds for me over a long period of time, so I'm not down at all with the Do-Nothing-Trailer concept. In frustration, a few years ago I winged it and tried out the Culprit Incredi-Slim as a trailer, which does something, and that changed my mind away from that idea.

Most bass in 2023: Which lure?
Hopefully. Maybe. The Whopper Plopper is a real mystery. It's hot, or dead cold. From '17 through the middle of '19 I caught one dink throwing them. From the middle of '19 thru the middle of '20 it was pure fire in my lakes. I could've casted it into the woods and pulled out a fish. Since then, crickets. It's crazy. However, a particular wake bait has picked up the slack. Nothing in the category outproduced these two last year, and perhaps it'll be a repeat this year, but I 'aint holding my breath. Livingston Bullnose.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
Got some stuff from the super baitwrx sale. Enough line to make it through the fungus apocalypse and a few more things. Had to trailer up the jig and Thundercricket. The wakes came straight from Livingston. Inexpensive 3.95$ shipping. Shipped same day too. If you like small wakes at around 70mm, these are special. Different in most ways, and outproduced everything last season.

Biggest Bass of 2023 ~ What Bait ?
Yeah. Wouldn't be surprised. My 3 best came on some type of weedless chatterbait, and most of my better fish came on the Project Z Weedless last season. Don't fear the weed guard! #StraightBraidBrigade!

Good. So that's that. No more brow beatings by the T-rig gestapo.

What tactic have you completely given up on?
Poppers. I'd did great on small wake baits last year. Nothing came close for numbers, so it wasn't a topwater thing. I got "1" bass on a Popmax last year. One bass! Poppers can Kiss My Azz!

There's definitely something about it, and that's probably because when contrasted against typical sized baits, there's always a bit of doubt they'd actually eat something much larger than usual while knowing all along that they will. Whatever the novelty really is for each person who's throwing them, it doesn't seem to get old. A few weeks ago, we had a brief warm front roll in. I was still laid up, but he made it out on the yak. It was mostly brutal other than Yellow Perch and Pickeral, but he managed to bag this 3.8lb on a 9" KGB Crappie. A perfect example of "Holie sheet, he actually ate that?!!!"

Best Sun Protective Clothing
Tried it. Didn't like it. I went with the Columbia Schooner Hat in grey. Columbia Sportswear Schooner Bank Cachalot III Cap | Academy I feel like a goofball wearing it because it looks absurd to me, but it really does the job well, and it's very lightweight. I go head to toe in UPF clothing. Always go for the lightest color possible for the hottest days. This makes a real difference. My sister got me an Aftco Samurai. I asked for white, but she got me Brilliant Blue Heather. It isn't terrible, but it doesn't reflect like white, so I don't wear it on the sunniest days. Looks like Columbia did away with "Cool Grey" which is almost white. Too bad. Anyway, I don't like the integral facemask of the Aftco hoodie, so I go with a separate HUK or MossyOak gaiter.

Favorite Fishing Gloves (Fingerless) ?
- Face scarf/shield
At night I wear one to keep from inhaling gnats. At any moment a huge plume is hovering where I am or where I'll be. I definitely wear them during the day religiously. Those and gloves, shirts, and pants are all UPF 50 rated. My nose and cheekbones right up to my eyes get sunscreen. Same for the back of my hands and fingers. Neutrogena Clear Face oil free sunscreen is my go to. SPF 55. Way better than anything oily, IMO. So glad I found it. Could be they're wearing sunscreen on exposed areas. Parachute material UPF rated pants are so light and are constantly drying out, there's no upside to shorts, AFAIC. I really hadn't given wrinkles much thought, but cancer...I'm fair skinned with blue eyes like my father. He went through hell with skin cancer on his face. Mostly his nose. Skin grafts don't take sometimes, then need to be re-done. It's nothing to play around with. He had a pain threshold so high he'd get his teeth drilled without novocain or gas. Said it didn't bother him in the least, but the cutting on his face and aftermath was a different story. Aside from the discomfort, it could kill you.- Wake Baits
I like and use them. They have their time and place. For what's been discussed in this thread, I'd stick with the floater. Depending on water temp and cover situation, I like to control the sink rate and running depth with lead tape. That's tough to do with the slow sink version, but the floater is very tweakable by adding weight. The tape is inexpensive and can be found on amazon. Clean the bait with alcohol first where you intend to apply it, rub it on with good pressure, and it will remain in place very nicely. Dirty Shad and Wicked Perch.- Latest Catch Pics Thread
It's becoming more common. Nifty, eh?- I’m sorry for all of the posts but I am sort of confused and receiving conflicting information. Everything I’d read and heard up to this point has said people throw 6” Bull Shads and other small swimbaits (1-3 oz) on traditional swimbait rods
Depends on the test. Oddly it doesn't track as you'd think. - Face scarf/shield
