What G. Loomis NRX would be like a SC LE 68 MXF?
How do the tips compare, do you think the NRX is as fast as the SC

Quantum Reels
Have you always fished Quantum gear? What initially interested you enough to spend your money over other manufacturers products.

Quantum Reels
Have to give them credit for getting the right guy and the right time. but even the appeal of KVD just never seemed enough to get Quantum over or nearer the top of the pile. So with KVD as their marketing plan, what do you think their intended market was?

Quantum Reels
It would be interesting to see what market it is that they are targeting and how well they do to their projections.

Lower gear ratio baitcaster - uses?
Sure makes you wonder if the speed of the reel is more about selling than it is fishing.

Quantum Reels
I had a lot of time today so I was just digging up some of the old posts that were somewhat popular 5-7 years ago. One that was really interesting was about Quantum reels. So I was wondering, over the last 6 years or so has Quantum done anything or produced any reels that are more of a challenge to the Big 3 in terms of quality, innovation and reliability. Quantum has some interesting looking reels, but for some reason they just don't seem to be able to break through and pose a real challenge to having a superior product. Don't mean to be rude but it would be nice that if a conversation is started that we can limit the lists and current line ups of rods and reels that people are currently fishing and keep the posts to experience using Quantum products or why you don't. Maybe even some things on what you think they could do better in terms of marketing and manufacturing that might get them over the top. Just fuel for a fire.

TAIL -UP or DOWN ?
I always rig them the flat side up, no real reason this is just what feels right to me.

It is a great looking reel, I have a soft spot for ABU Garcia reels they are what I started with, I still have a couple left an old Revo Elite IB that is chrome and in amazing shape and what was my favorite reel then a Revo Premier Gen 2 in almost perfect condition. Little heavy by today's standards but both still fish amazing.

7’2 rod Power/Action vs Line weight casting
Lots of difference in the Power/Action ratings between Dobyns and St. Croix. I own few of both, my thoughts are that the Dobyns run a little soft for their Power and Action ratings, but at any rate you might find the Action to be faster and powers to be heavier with the St. Croix. Neither is wrong or better they just rate their respective rods much different than one another in my opinion. St Croix has had some of the best customer service I have experienced they are easy to work with. Dobyns is a great rod also, and you call Dobyn's rods on the phone and will most likely get to speak to Gary or his Son with questions, they will help pick a rod that works for you for the technique and conditions you are fishing. Tough Choice.

That is very light, how does it compare in terms of weight to some of the Ray's Studio and other inexpensive custom spools.

The Road To The Super Bowl 2020
Definitely need the LB group and defensive backs to play better pass defense and make more solid tackles early season than they did last year, they seemed to be getting it together round about the playoffs last year.

Weird music
Give it a listen, loved it! Great 70's sound, I heard a lot of influence from some of the great bands they were playing with at that time...or maybe visa versa Dear Mr. Fantasy is a great tune also.

Know of any other flute playing rock and rollers......that makes him at least different

Weird music
Jethro Tull I think I will add Talking Heads to the list, they were a great band with a lot to say and that incredible unique style of David Byrne they were unique and different. Modern Day, I would add System of a Down to this list, different and refreshing is what I would use to describe S.O.D.

Most of the people that I know that had an Ai and fished it did so by using a sideplate from a Sol or similar, put the clear plate away so it would not scratch, crack and get brittle.

Lew's drag problems
How tight do you have the drag set? I mean are you at lockdown and still have no drag pressure.

Jigs and chatterbaits with no trailers
Jigs = always, swimjigs=always, buzzbait = almost never, chatterbait= 50/50 spinnerbait = almost never

Favorite Ratio for Chatterbaits???
I like to throw them on a 6 gear ratio also, I typically only retrieve fast enough to get the bait moving properly.

Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke ~ Know the Signs
I have had a couple, both Military related, once during an exercise in 85 degree heat at about 80 percent humidity full chem gear, the other during a deployment in 120+ degree heat and full gear. Trust me when I tell you that you do not drink enough water.

Frog, Popper, Plopper... Yes. Spook... Nope
I fish the baits at a good pace but generally make sure the bait has the opportunity to finish it's glide before I pop the rod, in my experience the longer the bait the longer the glide.
