  1. I do it with my spinning reel when the grass comes up with my senkos. Although wind and weightless plastics with braid is the worst No I always use green just a confidence thing tho
  2. I own a fury 703 mh/f and it fishes more like a medium with a moderate fast taper. It is my goto spinnerbait and rattletrap rod. The 705cb IMO is too soft to fish a spinnerbait and trap especially around any type of grass. I’ve even thrown shallow diving cranks on it
  3. Yeah happy to Say I’ve never lost a fish due to line failure or knot failure except one time
  4. this recently happened to me on two different brands of mono. I would snag a tree or something on the bottom and break off and the line wouldn’t snap at the knot or close to it but would snap halfway losing quite a bit of line. I was fishing 6lb trilene xl and 12lb big game. And yes I have checked rod guides no I’m using an improved clinch knot
  5. The tatula is def easier to setup and casts a little further than a curado. Overall I prefer the curado though, it’s smoother and just feels more durable in hand. Both are fantastic reels though

I’ve always just used a Gamakatsu EWG superline hook. Most guys use straight shank flipping hooks, I don’t. Works for me, may not work for you
  7. Spooling spinning reels filler spool goes on floor and make sure line comes off the filler spool counter clockwise. Casting reels I have someone hold the spool on a pencil and make sure line comes off the top of spool. Its that simple
  8. Not to steer you away from any stradic they are great reels as I own a stradic fk 2500 but you may want to look into the shimano nasci. I’ve been fishing one now and it’s a very similar reel for half the cost. I find they keep making the stradics more and more money each generation and they don’t add much to them compared to a lower end shimano. If weight is an issue by all means go for a ci4. But I believe the nasci 2500 and stradic 2500fk weigh the same. If I could do it over again I wouldn’t pay the extra $100for the stradic
  9. I think you put the spool washers directly on top of the bearing
  10. Can’t you just add them directly to the spool shaft? In the OP photo there’s a washer on top of the bearing
  11. I’ve been using a nasci 2500 for the last year. It’s great I like it just as much as my stradic
  12. I goto la fitness and they close at 8 on weekends
  13. I’ve done really well in situations like that running a weedless swimbaitblike a skinny dippers on a weighted swimbait hook
  14. 735 also works as a great frog rod
  15. Goto another pond or lake
  16. Dobyns fury 703sf with a 2500 shimano. I fish 8lb mono or 15lb braid. Tried casting setups a few times with senkos and didn’t like it.
  17. I love mono I basically use it for everything except punching and frogging and some spinning applications
  18. Gotta go with a. Jig it works from ice out until ice in
  19. 1. Guides aren’t supposed to be spaced apart the same. 2. All guides aren’t supposed to the same size 3. generally double footed guides are closer the reel and single foot as you move further up the rod. 4. The blank is thicker towards the butt end and thinner towards the top. Is is this your first time ever purchasing a fishing rod? They are all like that. theres literally nothing wrong with your rod I own 6 Dobyns fury rods and have not had one single issue with them. As far as reel not fitting in the reel seat some reels have a larger foot and don’t sit in a certain reel seat the proper way. as long as the reel is snug you shouldn’t have any issues with the reel wobbling or coming loose
  20. Cast a heavy lure and rewind the line back on if that doesn’t work their may be an issue with the reel. All I use is XL and big game
  21. I purchased a Dobyns fury 795. I’m far from an expert swimbait fisherman but it serves its purpose very well throwing mostly 2-3oz swimbaits and wakebaits
  22. Casting reels I have someone hold the spool with pencil or screwdriver with line coming off top of spool. Spinning reels always lay spools on the floor with line coming off the filler spool counter clockwise. No issuers ever
  23. Always used a medium fast unless I am tossing baits large than 1/2oz which is rare for me. Also always use a trailer hook
  24. Big game has memory so does all mono but after a few minutes of casting the line memory seems to not be as bad. Cold weather creates a lot of memory
