  1. jig hook at walmart worms are free out of the ground, just funning with you because this weekend we fished for gills because bass was slow and using worms caught 4 bass in 2 lb range. it takes alot of worms though
  2. Looking for suggestions on lure retrievers. Some for 10- 20 depths that works when wind is blowing and boat control is tuff. Big order i know. have many in the past but none that could depend on. Thanks
  3. This spring got a Dobyns 704 sf spinning rod for my wacky rigs and yum dingers. I fish heavy cover and pads as summer comes along. So far this is the best rod I own. If dont have alot of weeds or pads i would go with the 703
  4. I have them and need them to watch tv the most. They are a pain in the ???? most of the time. Bad in wind because of noise blowing through them, if doing something where sweating alot forget it, or when wearing a hat afraid will whip hat off and lose one. In all though Im glad i have them most of the time. Like you have the scars of life so alittle inconvience i can live with
  5. today couldnt see bait till it got to the boat

  10. Started out with senkos but started getting expensive so went to yum dingers and have not looked back. With senkos at 8.99 and dinkers at 2.99 its a no brainer. Went to day used dinger wacky rigged and only used 2. caught maybe 20 bass. my key is if use weight let them drop to bottom and the and work it back. just got new dobyns 704 and sensitivity with the dingers was fantastic
  11. just bought a Dobyns 704 spinning rod and have fished with it 2 times but what a rod. Should have gotten it sooner. Tried braid which i dont use much and had great sensitivity, could feel bottom where i could not before
  12. personally i catch more on a yum dinger senko> but when with my son he uses ribbontails alot and we both catch fish. i think its up to each what comfortable with
  13. Myself like many here have seen the bad behavior of many. i was working a point one time catching small bass one after another> the next thing i know there are other boats on both sides of me. i left the spot without saying a word and went across the small lake and watched . they both moved going different directions so i went back and started catching again with a deep down chuckle.they could see that i was catching an were a little ticked i think. i have found that the key is to move before they know what you are useing and return. Less conflict is better. Hour later one was at the ramp and came up to me and asked what i was using and catching were they didnt catch anything. I pointed to one of my rods that i changed before going in and said that and they had a funny look on their face. It wasnt what i was using of course so got another chuckle out of it. tight lines guys and gals
  14. scheels .com has them

  17. have broken one ankle and bad knees so standing on one leg is not possible. I have a minnkota copilot with the remotes and it has been a game changer for me. My advantage is i purchased the mounts that attach to the rod itself so can move freely any where in my boat ,can land a fish and control the boat at the same time. mounts are discontinued and wish i could get more but have worked out a way to attach them without. Works great for me
  18. When my daughter was younger she wanted to go fishing with me one day, attention span was usually short so when went to load the boat after fishing i didnt get it into the water far enough(no dock) so she was on shore so i told her to back it in alittle. she had driven alittle so she said ok. I said put it in N foot on brake a back into water a little. She did great, said put in D and hit the gas, you guessed it she put it in reverse instead. the water was over the wheel well half up the box. Finnally got it out went and hugged her that everything was alright and had a good laugh. Another time with my son I started what is now a father son tradition. Catching was slow and he wasnt paying attention so i jerked the rod up like i had something then said just checking , he was so mad. Now i do this at least once every trip and we still get a laugh about it. its been probably 20 years. he catches me with it once in awhile too
