  1. We break up crackers and throw them in the water to attract birds. Of course birds mean fish and fish mean fishermen. Only works in the winter when the gulls are here.
  2. There are lots of 12v appliances so why do you need an inverter? If you're in the area I'll give you a 1000 w inverter.
  3. Like MN said the AR bearing has failed. If it's under warrantee send it back if not take it apart and clean the AR bearing, no oil or grease.
  4. I was going to say "old guys rule" but that's no longer true. Younger people have much more information sooner than we had. I've only been seriously bass fishing for 25 years since I moved to GA from So. CA. I mostly fished in the Pacific in So Cal mostly and Baja a couple times a year. I used Loran and an RDF to find out where I was and now I have an electronic chart with over 1000 brush piles and humps marked for the lake I mostly fish. Younger people grew up with those advantages and use them. Don't get me started on youtube.
  5. Didn't hurt too bad this morning so I tried it again. Water temp 86* @ 7am. Threw a white walking bait and caught 1 then fished for 2 hours without a bite. Finally caught another good Alabama on a worm and went home. Had to cast left handed but they mostly landed in the water.
  6. On my cable control, Motorguide, trolling motor there is a slip on spacer on the button that the pedal actuates. The rubber broke and fell off and I added a folded piece of electrical tape for a spacer.
  7. My first baitcaster was a maroon bakelite reel and a steel rod. My first rod was a Heddon fly rod, that I still have, that my parents bought me for pitching a no hitter in Little League.
  8. Thanks for the optimism folks however my fake shoulder failed and surgery isn't possible until my other health issues are fixed. I will fish as much as I'm able and make reports
  9. Haven't been fishing in a few weeks, shoulder problem, but got out this morning for a short while. Caught a 3+ Alabama on a white Sammy clone the first thing then a few more Alabamas and 1 smaller LM. Had a good one on with too short a line and it broke off.
  10. I've always used a Mercury bulb. I'd replace all the fuel lines with USCG approved ones meant for fuel injected engines.
  11. I only fish rivers/creeks in my kayak and usually with a partner. Launch @ one bridge and float down to the next. My anchor is an 18" piece of 3/8" chain. If I need more I'll add another chain. Usually wading is the most productive way to fish using the kayak for transportation.
  12. A pair of hemostats with cutters for deep hooked fish. A long pair of needle nose and my Leatherman I carry on my belt in a sheath. There are also a pair of Walmart fake leatherman pliers for the buddy fisherman that were on the boat when I bought it.
  13. Keep us informed please.
  14. Every time I go fishing I catch 80% Alabama/spotted bass and 20% LM and that looks like a LM to me
  15. The boxes have TATULA 100XS. The parts breakdown is 6Z024117 for the spool. I want a lighter spool $ not $$$. Thanks.
  16. How do I know what generation I have?
  17. I caught a 2-8 and a 2-9 a few years ago @ Lake Lanier. Didn't measure them.
  18. Chattahoochee River below Lake Lanier.
  19. I have a 50ah lithium on my 16' tin boat with a 45 lb trolling motor and it lasts several days without charging every time. I only fish 4-6 hours a day and rarely on high power. 12 lbs compared to 70 is the reason I changed.
  20. Mudhole has a series of 6' blanks just for shooting, MHX Shooter Dock Skipping & Finesse Rod Blanks.
  21. Run a 10 ga red wire to a fuse block and another 10 ga black wire to a ground buss and run your graphs from them.
  22. I have a couple of Tatula 100 reels from last year and would like a lighter spool. I see Tatula SV spools on the internet for good prices and wonder what spools fit my reels.
  23. Treble hooked lures always get a gripper or net.
  24. With the right bottom, sand or mud, a mushroom anchor will lay on it's side if there's enough scope, and be very hard to pull out unless you're on top of it.
