Jackson Coosa Hd
I used one on a river for 3 days straight and agree with everyone else. It's a pig to paddle in a straight line. I did like the seat and that I could stand in it.

New or used bass boat 20-25K, large lake
I agree with TOXIC in getting the largest glass boat if you're on a crowded lake during the summer, especially on weekends. I fish Lake Lanier and with all the water toys it's really rough all summer.

Kayak people. How many rods do you bring?
Usually 1 but sometimes 2. I only fish smallish rivers with overhanging trees. No tackle box, only the stuff in my PFD.
-
Not many but a good one.
I fish in N Central FL several times a week either rivers or lakes. Haven't been doing very good lately in the lakes but the rivers have been giving up numbers. The one shown was in a lake flipping a tube beside a tree stump.

Windy Winter
I'm lucky that I have several places to fish here in central Florida so when it's windy I go to a smallish river. We used to have a winter home in Palmetto, FL on the Manatee River and too many days I couldn't fish.

I need some help with a flipping rod.
IMO forget the medium heavy. You're going to be using 50 or 65 lb braid and want a heavy or extra heavy 7 1/2' or longer rod. You have to reach the places you're dropping your bait into.

Opinions on fishing S-L-O-W
I learned how to bass fish in So Cal where if you wanted to catch a bass the only way was slow finesse fishing. In 1999 I moved to GA I met some locals and usually out fished them. After a few years they caught up.

$50 or so rod recommendation?
I have several All Star Classic rods I bought @ Academy several years ago on sale for $30. Best bang for the buck I've found.

Go-to saying before setting the hook
Alone nothing. With a partner, bite. If it's a big one, get the gaff.

First fish you've ever caught
Sometime in the mid '40s, I was 5 or 6, a neighbor took me to the Santa Monica pier. We fished with a cane pole and a piece of shrimp for, what we called 11 perch. They weren't very big, 4-6" long. I don't remember eating any but I'm sure we did.

For my FIL: Locations
If he plays golf the golf course lakes almost all have bass. Carry a folding rod in his bag. If not for covid I'd be happy to take him bass fishing. I'm just across the Withlacoochee River from Ocala in Hernando. I'm an older fart too and have a boat and a kayak and fish several times a week.

Who do you eat ?

Perception Pescador (2018 non-Pro model) seat upgrade
A couple of questions. First how comfortable is the bottom seat? Next, is it any higher than the original seat? I have the same kayak and can't sit very long but I only use the kayak for river fishing so I can usually get out as often as I need.

What is your craziest fishing story?
When I first moved to GA, 20 years ago, I got into a school of stripers for 2 hours and never caught one. I didn't have what they wanted; I did the next day. A guy in a boat close to me felt sorry for me and gave me one to take home and eat.

I hate alligators
I fish central FL all winter and see many alligators. In the rivers, where I usually fish, they have always submerged when either I get too close to them or they to me. I go out of my way to avoid the large, over 10'. models.

Techniques for fishing in Florida
We have a winter place in central FL and I mostly bass fish several times a week. I even caught a fish once. We stayed until August last winter because the hospital beds in my town were at near capacity. I found that the local lakes were not where the best bite was, it's the rivers and smaller lakes and ponds. I fished a buzzbait a lot last winter/spring/summer and usually did really good some of the time. My other technique is a T/R worm. I had lots of 20+ fish days along with 3 fish days. Good fishing!!!

GA Bass Slam.
bigbassin', The best place for a Chattahoochee bass is the upper Chattahoochee River. This is the 4th year I'm doing the slam. Arthur, it's lots of fun. I usually spend several months doing the slam but due to Covid I've only spent a total of 5 trips for the 6 I've caught so far.

GA Bass Slam.
Does anyone fish for the GA Bass Slam put on by the DNR? It's mostly done by kayak in rivers. There are 10 species of black bass in GA and you have to catch 5 for the slam.

Anyone else use a cheaper boat?
When we bought a winter trailer in FL I bought a 14' old glass flatbottom boat with a 25 hp engine, for $800, to keep there. I've fished all over the Manatee River from where the bass are to the Gulf of Mexico when the weather is good. When we moved to near Inverness I used it in the rivers, lakes and inshore there also. I don't know how many bass, trout, redfish, snook it's caught but it's a bunch.

You ever eat a LMB that you catch?
I don't eat LM but about every other week I'll keep a 15-18" spotted bass to eat that night or the next. Spots taste much better than LM to us.

Bass Season Done?
I wouldn't know what to do with myself if I couldn't fish, so I'll keep on fishing.
