BPT - Stage One
I have to go with Wheeler as well. 5 wins, and then winning the knockout round yesterday. It is hard to bet against that momentum.

What on your boat makes your life easier?
Another non obvious one is the latching mechanisms for your compartments. If you are building from scratch, they have self latching latches. Meaning you do not have to twist etc to unlock or lock...I would like those on my brand new boat if I could do it over again.

What on your boat makes your life easier?
Padded carpet, cup holders, and tool holders built in to the bow. Also, recessed trolling motor pedal.

How well do You deal with getting skunked?
This is me as well. If I get skunked, it happens. I am productive in other ways. I will graph over things, maybe eliminate some water. I will always have a good time being out on the water in the boat!

chris zaldain moving on from megabass
I believe his move to be just a large scale business endeavor. Yea it has some to do with the tournaments for sure, but imagine getting in with some of the most popular youtube people, and working directly with them. Lets say go from 40K subscribers to 240K in a week....That will be lasting revenue from Google Ad sense etc with Youtube. So, the odds of winning an Elite Series Event are decently low. The odds of making consistent money on Youtube by partnering with 13, Googan, etc are even greater. I think he is looking for financial stability for life. If you have read about pro anglers enough, you know unless you are a top 10 or so kind of person it is very expensive to fish in the pros. Chris will not have to worry about all that with revenue from Youtube and being a Googan guy now.

Risky topic…what are your personal biases???
I am not sure if this is a bias, but on the line shy mention. Almost all of my casting rods are setup with 15lb FC, and I only had 1 tournament where I did not catch anything. I am not sure I believe that hype train 100% about line shyness. I know it helps change depths of lures running more true etc with the smaller line, but I just like 15lb FC really well and I hardly break off.

Chalk One Up For Active Target
I am interested in hearing or seeing some of your settings for the best quality display for the Active Target if you are willing to share them? I know Youtube has a lot of pro's who have shared some, but it does not seem too far off from the factory settings.

General questions about 18-19 foot bass boats.
I have a 2021 Triton 19TRX Patriot- I think its 19'9''. I have a Merc ProXS 225, and I have a tournament load out top speed of 69.8mph as it came from the factory. I can store a ton of rods in the locker without the dividers installed. The longest rod I have stored is 7'5''. I do not think there is any downgrades as far as the 20' models go. The only differences I have seen besides size, and motor, is some trim details such as push buttons instead of switches for the livewells etc. I think the TRX 19 handles very well in rougher conditions compared to my old 16.5' Triton. Overall 19's will do a bit better in water than 16's. I fish tournaments more than I casual fish in my boat, and I will tell you that you do not NEED over 55mph. I think as long as you can get on plain well and quickly you will be fine. Sure you may not make it to every spot first, but you will get there right behind the guys going 65-70mph. There is a case to be made with buying new vs upgrading. With the cost of new boats being high, it may be just fine for you to make some upgrades. New electronics, New TM with spotlock or anchor. I would check out some of the brands. I got my boat with all new Lowrance HDS units, Ghost TM, Active Target all the bells and whistles. Lowrance had a rebate deal, and I got $800 back from getting all that on my boat when I bought it. You would be surprised there are some decent deals out there.

First time buying graphs
If I was not as well versed with Lowrance as I am, I would definitely love to try out Garmin. They make quality products, and are a very well respected company outside of the marine industry as well. That being said, I like Lowrance a lot, and I am very familiar with their products. I have gone from HDS Gen 2's to the new HDS lives with no regrets!

MLF TW Pro Circuit - Sam Rayburn
I thought the same thing...It is cold in the midwest right now. I would be in shorts in 60's.

That's Women's Work!
My wife does not allow me to do things like laundry, or cleaning because she has her way of doing it, and I have my way. She prefers her way. We share cooking duties a lot, I like to grill, and she likes to cook traditionally. I think it works out for us, but at the end of the day if she needed help with something I am not going to say, "that's a woman's job".

MLF TW Pro Circuit - Sam Rayburn
Yea it is one that I do not fish often either. It is tough sometimes to get out of the "norm" of what can catch em.

MLF TW Pro Circuit - Sam Rayburn
Is it just me, or has Bobby Lane been on a pretty good tear from last year, and he is currently sitting like 10th or 11th place. He is a beast!
-
MLF TW Pro Circuit - Sam Rayburn
I just got back on, and it is not buffering for me on the PC.

MLF TW Pro Circuit - Sam Rayburn
I have only been able to connect to watch one time. It always shows an error message trying to connect via the MLF app. You would think they would have this figured out by now.

Power Poles- Where to purchase them, is ....
You may be able to get a decent deal on them from a local dealer, or boat shop. A lot of times they will have the brackets etc there as well. My shop charged me 3800 for the brackets, two 8' blades and install. Also came with foot switches on the bow, and a ton of lanyard switches etc. Also you cannot beat the warranty from the shop install, and Power Pole. They have fantastic customer service.

Tournament entitlement?
I have seen on an MLF live stream, a hefty angler, who is now back in the Elites, who was asking a guy to move away from him. "He asked him to leave so he could fish, he was ONLY fishing for 100K ya know"...then when the guy started to go past, he yelled go the other way.... I think it was something like the non tournament boat came by because the pro was in a cove or near the shore but there was a point out there that made it so the non tournament boat could not see him from afar...He got close enough to get yelled at though, and then asked to go the way he just came.

Boat Insurance and Lower Unit Coverage
Progressive offers lower unit coverage. When I asked about it, the rep mentioned that if anything happens to the lower unit on the boat, I would be responsible for the deductible, but they would cover the rest on the lower unit repair, or a new lower unit. I thought this was pretty cool especially if you fish waters that have submerged stumps etc. I have not destroyed a lower unit yet, but I like the idea that my policy will cover it. My full coverage on a 2021 Triton TRX patriot costs me $50/ month. I did not think that was horrible bundled in with everything else that I have. Just wanted to share in case anyone had insurance that did not have that coverage, but may want it!

A Job You Love vs. A Job That Pays Well
Especially if you want to go to college! Yea, you will learn some life experiences etc, but I have a BS degree, and two MBA's all because I spent time in the military, and those three degrees cost me nothing, but time in the service. I also agree with the previous comments about keeping expenses low. Warren Buffet and those rich folks stay rich because they do not spend excessive amounts of money unless investing it to make more money. BTW...I think there is a new article out about credit card debt has now exceeded student loan debt, or maybe its the other way around, but either way....a ton of debt is not good.

new Garmin 93sv - are these images normal?
I went you YouTube and looked for about 3 or 4 videos of pros who shared their settings. I used them as a starting point for me, then dialed my Lowrance units in from there. That could be settings, color issues, or even interference.

10lb 12oz TN pig!
That's an awesome bass, and an awesome bag! Congrats on that! What did you catch her on?

If you were the expert...what topic?
I would talk about a pro's journey. It is not for the faint of heart. I know a lot of people have talked about it before, but I think each one is unique and it is good to hear about those experiences.
