  1. He will be the Tom Brady of Bass fishing. At least hopefully, I like watching KVD. Either way, an incredible career!
  2. I take back what I said about Wheeler...He is in 14th now....not 88th
  3. Is it just me, or do the anglers waste so much time weighing and figuring out the fish once they have the limit? In my local tournaments I weigh each keeper as I catch them and log it on the scale and attach the corresponding cull tag to it. When I catch my 6th, and weigh it, I know immediately which one to go with it, and the subsequent fish.
  4. No surprise to me that B-Lat started the day well, as he ended the day very well yesterday! I think Wheeler is out there just knocking some rust off, and breaking in the new boat.
  5. B-Lat with another decent big one! All on a spinning rod on the O.
  6. B-Lat caught something like a 7 or 8 just a few minutes ago. Interesting catch as he thought it was stuck in the motor, and then lost it, but oh no big girl was still on!
  7. I spent the weekend cleaning the rod locker carpet. Looks better than new, and smells great. I used a non bleach mold killer, and a carpet cleaner. I repeated that processes at least 7 or 8 times. I ensured it was fully dried before closing the lid. I will check it throughout the week to ensure nothing is coming back. I appreciate all the suggestions!
  8. Thanks for the comments. I got all of the rods and reels cleaned up and dried out. They are looking good, and not smelling. I wiped them down with some clorox wipes after a soap bath. I will oil them back up tomorrow. I think I am going to start with the the mold spray, coat the locker, then steam clean it with a carpet cleaner, and repeat the process for the next couple of days, hopefully I can get two sessions of that everyday. The mold spray says it helps with the smell, but I will also use some baking soda to help absorb some while it is drying every day. My wife said she has carpet powder she will use in there too...we'll see. After that, I will call a professional if need be.
  9. My wife mentioned a carpet cleaner wand thingy for couches, and then park in the sun while it is warm here. Rinse repeat for a few days to help clean. I would use that spray you mentioned afterwards to help kill mold as we go. That is probably my best option. The drain plug was out, I probably could have tilted up a bit more, but the damp carpet coupled with the darkness made it spread quickly. Yea I have that going, and will continue that for a while.
  10. My name is Josh, and I am an idiot. I recently moved down south to the Savannah area, and brought the boat with me of course. I ordered a metal building for my boat because my two car garage was not quite long enough for the power poles etc. Fast forward about 3.5 months of me being here and my building finally gets installed. It is an 18'W x 31'L covered awning essentially. Enough to keep the weather and sun off the boat. In the meantime while I had the building on order and waiting for install, we had hurricane Ian, (hardly anything here), and a few other storms. I had the boat covered the entire time with a really nice cover from national covers I think. Anyway...I went to go mess with some tackle the other day and realized that since I had the boat outside it collected a ton of water under the cover that I did not see for a while. Long story short...Everything, and I mean everything I had in the rod lockers were moldy, all 30 of my rods and reels along with the socks. My waterproof tackle trays did their job, but I mean everything was wet and had grime all over it. I spent the day today since it was 75* cleaning it all up. The boat got detailed as well, but I did lose some pieces of equipment. 1. 2 scales, 1 brand new never used 2. About 5 spools of FC that had mold all over it 3. 2 sets of pliers rusted beyond use 4. assortment of hooks not in my water proof terminal box I was really mad at myself for allowing that to happen, coming from the military I keep everything immaculate all the time. Anyway...does anyone have suggestions on what to place in the rod lockers and compartments to eliminate the smell? I know I can do baking power or soda (my wife will know which one), but has this happened to anyone and were able to fix it quickly? Trying to take advantage of this warmer weather get out on the lake this weekend perhaps.
  11. I carry the P365XL and now I also carry a Taurus G3c. I like the Taurus with the 3.2" barrel making it a bit easier to conceal. I also liked the cost. I paid $300 with a $50 mail in rebate for it, and it came with 3 mags. Now here in GA, we can just carry open or concealed with the new Constitutional Carry law being enacted.
  12. I would not be worrying about the extra 2500. The ghost, and graphs alone like mentioned are a lot of money new. If you cannot install yourself, now you are looking at more money added. When I sold my old boat, I increased the price with my ultrex and 3 Lowrance graphs networked together about the same as the 2500 you are facing.
  13. Good Luck to you! I have thought about fishing these events as well as a boater, but I will not be able to do it in 2023, but maybe 2024. I would love to see you make some posts about the tournaments once they are completed!
  14. Yea it is filled with a ton of stuff. Most of what I see there is people just getting a pellet grill or smoker and cannot figure out how to use it. The firebox had a hole in it?
  15. Yea I had an independent probe inside getting the temp. It is fairly accurate to what the PID said it was. The fan is working, I can hear it and see it blowing the fire around once I have the sear plate open. I am coming to the conclusion that it is taking forever just based on the size and the efficiency. I suspect they use the same auger and fan for many models, and this is one of the bigger models they have as far as cooking space.
  16. I clean the grill out every other cook. The "firebox" has a quick clean out, but it does not get everything. I vac it out every other cook depending on the time of the cook. Like I mentioned, I cleaned the grill out for the test times I posted, so I tried to rule out those variables as much as I could.
  17. I looked at them, but for the price vs cooking area, it seems to be high cost for a low amount of cooking area. When you say minutes, do you mean like 5 minutes? or like 15 minutes?
  18. Hi Guys! I have an arsenal of cookers. I own two homes, so I have them in separate locations. I have: Pitboss Pro 800 grill/ smoker Pitboss stand up smoker Pitboss 36" griddle Pitboss Laredo 1000 grill/smoker I say this because I have a lot of experience with the Pitboss brand and equipment. I do however believe I have an issue with my Laredo 1000. It seems to take forever to get hot. I timed it this afternoon with the following times and temps. I did completely clean the grill today as well before I tested this. I set the grill to High (500*) 47 minutes to get to 380* 59 minutes to get to 425* 1 hour 8 minutes to get to 500* Does this seem like a crazy amount of time to reach these temps? My brother has the Traeger Timberline XL so that is my only comparison with a different brand that I personally can test with. I feel like I should not have to go out almost an hour early from cooking time to get the pellet grill going. I have read a lot about Pitboss and issues they have, but still, my Pro 800 does not take nearly as long to get to high or even 350 to slow grill something. I am located in the south now, so the ambient temp was 80* while I was testing, so I know it was not the outside temp. Should I ditch the Pitboss and go with the Timberline XL or something else like the new Camp Chef, or is the Pitboss temp/ time thing reasonable?
  19. I love my Ghost. I have not had any issues that turning it off and turning it back on has not solved. I have beat it up as well in rocks, and timber and it is still kicking strong.
  20. I am sure the money is also related to the taxes from winnings, coupled with the travel required to get there. I bet that is one of the reason MDJ moved from Cali to Alabama when he started to really get in to the pro circuits.
  21. I read that they eventually passed the polygraphs from last year. Typically if you fail the first one, you have a grace period of a couple days to re-take it. They passed the second one apparently. I watched the statement that the tourny director put out, this morning. The issue I see is that since they did not get caught until now, there is not a lot they can do for previous winnings and potential for cheating since there is no definitive proof. It sucks though for all those 2nd place guys who could have won if they were cheating to win that over 300K in winnings last year. How low do you have to be, to be good enough to win without cheating, but you still cheat anyway? I mean they had the winning weight without cheating!
  22. The military really affected how my sleep pattern still is. I still try to go to bed or at least be laying down by 10pm. I have really good work flexibility so I am often awake, but not out of bed yet at 7:30 or 8am. My huge problem is I cannot stay asleep well. I will be up multiple times throughout the night just because. I do not even go to the bathroom, I just wake up and look around for a little bit and then doze back off. I will say I "feel" better when I wake up earlier than sleeping in.
  23. My next one with be a Caymas as well!
  24. I went through a ton of hurricanes of the years when I lived in SE GA. Fill those bathtubs up with water. The longest I was without water and power was 10 days, and that is after I cam back from evacuating. It was not too bad for most of them, I think the last one I went through that was bigger was hurricane Matthew in 2016. The neighborhood came together great and we all started BBQs every night with food that was going to go bad since we did not have power. Yall stay safe!
  25. I have family in the Tampa area, and they are hard headed, and will not evacuate. I am scheduled to move to Savannah on Thursday of this week driving from Indiana. I may be delayed on the move pending how the storm tracks. Hopefully it loses momentum and downgrades so it wont be so bad.
