  1. LBH, I'll hand it to you. You boys are impressive. What brand of jig?? and trailer if any? Do you guys fish spinnerbaits, buzzbaits or heavier jigs? If so, shoot me a pm w/ your mailing address. I have a sample for you.
  2. Oh, I forgot. I knew a guy that carried a electric cattle prod for snakes in the boat. Just a idea.
  3. I'm not sure if I'm ready to fire a hand gun at the floor of a boat that I'm riding in because of a snake. A bad fishing day maybe, scuttle the boat. At 6'1 285 I have never needed a gun, I have wanted one though. I'm fast talker and stand my ground, but those ways and days are over.
  4. I could'nt catch a suspended bass if my life depended on it. That is why this year I'm working on jerk baits. Bought the Smithwicks,X-raps and Rogues. Try and try again,I will win!
  5. I have a huge swearing problem, my wife told me that I was swearing at a potluck dinner at my church.. Who am I to judge Ike? I teach my girls the difference from right and wrong and raise them in a loving household. Other than that.........I'm me. Let Ike fish.
  6. I have never judged him for freakin' out. The plain truth is that the guy can "fish". Being a father I get to see what the younger generation relate to. Extreem sports and the one that stands out in a crowd are the ones liked and disliked equally. The young like it and the elders dislike it. He is a bit of a showboat, but if he was a football player he would be loved.
  7. I hope this helps. I owned a V-17 Tracker for years and loved it to death. It only had a 50hp merc. But it rode and handled like a dream. It was also a very stable platform for me, I'm a big guy and had no problems. It was an older unit 1989 model, but had low hours and looked brand new when I purchased it from my ex-father in law. The only down side was the older models only had a 10 gallon fuel cell.I know that the newer models have been cured of this problem. Again,it was a great boat and the guy I sold it to has had no problems with it.
  8. Years ago I met a guy who taught me the same technique for mapping out an area of water. Hook up a C-rig and "feel" your way along the bottom. I also use a spinnerbait to count down and slow roll the bottom for a quicker search. But with the spinnerbait you have to make a mental note to stay in contact with the bottom.
  9. I have bit my lip long enough..........The pink one should be called "the liberal". Sorry, had to say it.
  10. I was'nt trying it here,I was in the northeastern part of PA.I was with a bunch of drunks/ex-father-in-law and his buddies.I was there to deer hunt, but it was a nice Sunday and they wanted to Ice fish.I love the concept of it and from the looks of your post, you and your son have done really well. My daughters would love to do something like that someday. How thick does the ice get up there?
  11. I went ice fishing once about 8 years ago and could not relax at all. Camo, those are some really nice looking fish and congrates to the rest of the pics posted. It really looks like alot of fun.
  12. Brauer,Hackney,KVD. in no order,
  13. I've cruised them all,at least it seems that way. But here is where it's at. Alot of kids being kids on the other sites.Have not had any problems in here. Knowledge is key and the locksmiths work here.
  14. Fish with a 6'6-7'0 rod med hvy,I've found that when I fish a frog.I hold the rod almost straight up in the air, when the striko occurs.Quickly drop your rod tip while reeling down and set the hook like your trying to rip it's mouth off. By doing this, your allowing time for the fish to "take the bait".Also,I use Lunker Sauce Pro Gel. Since practicing this,my hook up's are around %85-90.
  15. Thank you Glenn!!!!!!! I'm home again!!!!!!!!

I use 3/8 to 1 ounce sinkers depending on the thickness of grass and spray all baits going into or around any weeds with Jacks Juice. The stuff is plain slippery. The bait will glide through and bass seem to eat the bait.
  17. Maybe try running a Zoom Horny Toad around the timber and kill the bait when it is in what you'd think the strike zone to be. Just a thought. flippin4it
  18. This is the place to be. I do alot of reading in here and not alot of posting. Pretty much all has been said by the time I get here..... flippin4it
  19. When I was about 18 or 19 Ilanded a 3 pound smallie' on fly gear and I thought that was something.But a 12+ largie,holy Moses! flippin4it
  20. Ku kill's my 8 plus pounder, but it was still an awsome fish. flippin4it
  21. I have pitched senko style baits for years,I normally wacky rig them. I have also pitched worms rigged with 1/16th to 3/8 oz.I have pitched spinnerbaits, cranks and so on.The weight used is based on what the bass want at that time. Active fish will react more to a heavy/faster bait and inactive to light/slower rate of fall. If the bass seem sluggish or inactive , try pitchin' the wacky rigged senko type bait. I don't use the senko brand , I use a hand pour that I by locally. They offer a heavy and lighter stick bait , I always spray my baits in "Jacks Juice" craw oil. If you feel the need , Pitch it for awhile. I had one of my best days pitchin' a Strike King Rocket Shad around some boat docks about 6 years ago,I'll never forget it. It all started when I tried to get the bait between a boat and a dock and the rest is history. Must have been the right color, wieght and profile for that day. I hope this is of some help. flippin4it
  22. Jack's Juice in craw or lizard. Stuff is awsome.
  23. Pitchin' even though my name say's otherwise. Gin clear water or stained water?
  24. Rebbasser needs a good swift kick in the seat of the pants for giving himself such a low rating. I'm a 6-7 easy and all I do is learn from Reb,you seem to have the skills of an 8. flippin4it
