I’m seriously considering the Shimano Miravel 2000 or 2500 especially at the current prices. I usually take advantage of the BPS trade in but d**n at these prices I feel it makes sense to jump on the JDM prices. Talk me out of taking advantage of the BPS trade in or talk me into the JDM prices. P.S if I’m going to trade in I’m looking at the BPS Johnny Morris Signature Series Reel that retails for $99.99 before trade in and I’m 99.99% sure it’s made by Daiwa if that sways any opinions.

@WaskaCrank12 Japan Lure Shop currently has the Miravel C2000S at 11,400 yen/$76.35 and although you will pay for tax and shipping the cost is offset with the added lure they throw in for purchasing. I bought a Stradic late last year and they sent a Megabass baby pop-x with my purchase which is a $15.00 lure here $12.00 from Japan. The site is very easy to use and the standard shipping gets it here well within reasonable time limits. I paid 2000 yen/$13.40 for shipping btw.

@ghost I watched a Tactical Bass gear review today on you tube and he was very excited to get his hands on a new SLX MGL 70 A, he mentioned the new spool, the quiet drive or whatever the heck it’s called but nothing about the frame being smaller. I know nothing about MGL 3 spools but he was very enthusiastic about it being lighter. I’m not sure if you made your mind up between the new or older version but I hope this helps if you didn’t😉

@Sabo Although I’ve not used the Kastking tri polymer I’ve been using Kastking monofilament in both red and blue at $11.99 for 600 yards 4 pound test for the past few years with zero issues and zero line changes. I guess I lied the blue has faded a lot faster than I would like but the red is absolutely the same color as the day I spooled it on.

Although im not brand loyal and finally bought a Shimano spinning reel (Stradic 1000) I’m going to agree with something @MN Fisher is not mentioning but has in the past. That’s line capacity which I find way too high for 1000 size Daiwa reels unless you go JDM. If you’re not opposed to an Amazon/Chinese reel which I respect anyone who is I can’t recommend the Piscifun Carbon X or Carbon X 2 enough. They are $59.00 or $69.00 and are as well built and as smooth as the Daiwa Fuego or Daiwa Legalis LT I handled prior to purchasing the Stradic and have stayed that way for more than a few years.

@Koz The Hawks have no chance at any of my dogs but when my kids were young we were eating dinner with my kids facing the patio doors when they both asked why is the fence bleeding, as it turned out the resident hawk was feasting on a rabbit nest from our backyard neighbor and enjoying his meal while perched on the fence 😬 thankfully the kids weren’t too freaked out.
