Jack of all trades, Master of none
I’m not sure if your budget, so I’m going to offer up 2 suggestions. First up is one of my favorite rods which just so happens to be relatively inexpensive, a “Wright & McGill pro insight advantage” 7’-0” med. 1/4-1oz lure rating available at Wal-Mart. Last time I seen it was $54.99, second up would be a Lews Carbon Fire available at Dicks. I have a 6’-10” which they no longer carry but they have a 7’-0” med mod/fast 1/8-1/2 oz. $69.99 but you may find a coupon for a few more bucks off. Both rods are IM-8 blanks, the Wright…. has micro guides if that’s a deal breaker. The Lews has Wynn grips although I feel the first version which I have the grips are a little nicer. Hopefully this helps.

Colored line for panfish
I’m pretty sure this post is going to be moved but in the meantime ? I’ve never met a line shy bluegill. I’m currently using Kastking monofilament in a red color and I’m going to grab some bright blue to match my favorite panfish rod. I’ve used brown, green, clear and now red and I’ve actually had them see me standing on the bank and they still bite my offering?

Best spinning reel?
I’ve been saying the Piscifun Carbon X is underrated for several years on here and I recommend it without hesitation. I have 2)1000 & 1)2000, the only thing I’ll say is they are about a 1/2 size larger than marketed. I:E the 500 is a 1000 size Daiwa 1000 is a 1500 etc.

Braided line - which ones stand out?
Daiwa J-Braid Grand 8X gets my vote.

Sweet home Chicago
Chicago was safer when either one of the Daley’s ran it. Hell it was safer when Rahm Emmanuel ran it. Mayor Lightfoot is quickly proving herself to be in over her head in my opinion. I’m from the south west suburbs born and raised in Tinley Park so I’m nowhere near as educated on the city as most of you guys on this post, but I worked down town for a couple years walking from the Lasalle street metra station to the blue cross blue shield building with quite a bit of my travel underground and I always felt “safe”, nowadays you couldn’t pay me enough to walk that route.

Crappie Rod
I’ll second this. I have the 6’-8” ultralight and it’s definitely built well above its price IMO.

Daiwa Tatula TW 80
?Do you think Bass Pro Shop will honor the price ??

You were definitely fishing it hard in that video. I’ll be sure to keep an eye out for the next video you’re using it in.

Not being a wise guy. Are you planning on displaying it or fishing with it? Either way that’s a good looking lure?

Current Favorite Medium Heavy / Moderate Action Bait Cast Rod ?
I’m going with my Lews TP1 now TP1X 7’-3” med hvy moderate $99.00 all day long. Or you could try A-Jay’s recommendation from Lews. If you like something on the faster side look into bps crankin sticks.

Something seems wrong?
So this popped up on Instagram, seeing as I would love a kayak I clicked on shop now and wow they are blowing out a ton of different yaks at unbelievable prices including a 12’ pdl version for $99.00. The only problem is when you hit shop now it directs you to cabelas closing out all these kayaks that you can only purchase with a pay pal account ?. Oh and see if anyone notices the first problem (see attached photo). ?

Frog'n Reel Recommendations
I’m going to say a Daiwa Tatula CT or Tatula 150. I use a few different brands of reels but feel the Tatulas will hold up well to the nature of frog fishing, (heavy braid locked down drags) in general.

New Bass Pro Prodigy Spinning Reel
I have no input on the model in question but I will say I purchased a bps carbonlite 2.0 1500 size spinning reel a few years back and I’m very happy I did. I believe it to be a Daiwa Exceler LT a $79.99 reel painted in a white finish with silver trim which I like better than the Daiwa colors. The one bonus is I paid $49.99 with trade in reel. I believe the reel in question is also a rebadged/repainted Daiwa although judging by the pictures I’d say it’s a rebadged Legalis LT which is a reel I’m trying to talk myself out of buying. If you’re going to buy from Cabelas/BPS I’m sure it’s going to be on sale soon (Spring Classic) and as @Fishingmickey said they seem to be out of inventory on all other brands. Me personally I like the the colors on the Daiwa better but as I stated on another post I’m a sucker for color matching? Lastly I will add bps has a generous return policy and I’m assuming you’re shopping the Gurnee or Bolingbrook stores which would be easier than shipping back to Daiwa should the need arise which I highly doubt will.

Bling or no bling
I will freely admit aesthetics are very important to me. Case in point I had a Daiwa CA80 on a Lews Carbon Fire rod and couldn’t take it, so I bought the identical rod a Lews Hank Parker rod and now all is right in my world?

Rod/reel in person or online?
Although I prefer to feel/see the rod in person I purchased 2 Okuma rods during the Tackle Warehouse Black Friday sale based solely on the recommendations/reviews written on here as no one near me carried the rod lines I was interested in. I’m glad I did.

BPS Spring Sale - Cranking Stick
If you don’t mind my asking what don’t you like? I bought the 7’-3” hvy and I’m pretty pleased with mine. But as they say different strokes for different folks. I feel the build quality is pretty good overall and I’m pretty sure that’s about what I paid for my gray version.

BPS Spring Sale - Cranking Stick
Curious as to which rods you have (length) I agree with you on the sales side and if it wasn’t for the reel trade in I wouldn’t purchase either.

Potential World Record Meanmouth. Guess where?
That’s awesome he was able to get everything needed for the record and his replica mount in around 2 hours safely returned where she was caught.
-
BPS Spring Sale - Cranking Stick
For what it’s worth I had my bps order an out of stock item (a panfish elite rod) that was in the sale flyer but not available in store during the “spring sale” and they honored the price without me having to pre pay if that makes sense.
-
BPS Spring Sale - Cranking Stick
I have the last version (grey split grip) in hvy power. As far as I know it’s the same blank as the new version and for $49 I think it’s well worth the purchase.

If you could fish with five BR members & five pros, who would they be?
I’m definitely not able to pick just 5 as there is so much knowledge and therefore so much that can be learned from every member on here but in the spirit of the post here goes…Bulldog1935, A-Jay, Fish Tank, slonezp and Jig Rookie. As for pros Mark Zona, Al Lindner (or anyone associated with his shows), Hank Parker,Brent Chapman and although she’s probably not a pro Sarah Parvin who posts some of the biggest bluegill I’ve ever seen and are one my favorite fish to target.
