Elaztech storage ?
I have been carrying them in two different kinds of tackle bags with the worms in the original packages. The worms in both bags have welded together and in one bag they have gone flat in the other they are almost square. Anyone carrying them in a way that they don't weld or misshapen?

G. Loomis 843c MBR or 844c MBR for jigs?
I have 844c and 843c rods. I find I use the 843c rods a lot more than the 844c. Either will work well with 1/2 oz jigs. I don't like the 844c with anything less than 1/2 oz.

Back um up
I used to be a fanatic about my waypoint files. I kept a different file for each lake (6) that I fish. Every time I got home I would save the file to an sd card, then delete it from the units and purge the units. When I chose a lake for the next trip, I'd load that file and go. As new technology came along allowing lots more storage and my old waypoint management software became obsolete, I became lazy and quit backing them up. A few days ago I was looking at the chart to decide on an area to fish next outing and discovered a bunch of stuff that should not be there. There were indiscriminate waypoints in places where there should be none and multiples (doubles up to quintuples) of the ones that should be there. Needless to say my file has been corrupted. It showed that I have 5600+ wpts when there should be around 2000. I have been laboriously deleting the garbage waypoints one by one. I now have it down to one lake that has about 800 wpts so if they are only tripled I still have around 1600 to get rid of. As soon as I get a clean file I'm going to save it, unhook the units from each other, delete and purge each unit then hook them back up and reload. I'm thinking I need to find a new software management program and back up the files after every trip. So my suggestion to you all is back them up often.

Traveling with a bass boat
One option would be to look for a storage unit close to the hotel that has inside storage large enough for your boat and electricity to charge your batteries. I have done that and been about to rent for about $10 per night.

Chatter bait help
By far my best color lately in stained water has been red/chart. with chart split tail trailer. In clear water red/white with red trailer.

Dual Console
I hate to go in the winter with a single console boat. For that reason I rarely go in those boats. I try to take mine.

First time hair jig tying
Once you learn how to use it your jig tying will be a lot more fun. When I used to make a lot of buck tail jigs I could tie 2 dozen 2 to 3 color jigs with chenille in less than a hour.

Optimax won't start when cold
My idea is that you need a new cranking battery. Optis have to turn over a few times before they will fire. I had one for 14 years and as long as I kept a minimum of a 1000 CCA battery in it I had no problems.

elaztec hookset

B.O.E. electronics and marine?
I've bought several things from them. They always have had good prices on the things I have bought.

Tic for Tac, give me your boat experience..
I used to be a Nitro hater until the last few years. They have made significant improvements and now have a pretty good boat on the market. In fact I own a Z20 which I got for $16,000 less than a Ranger 520C. Both boats would have been equipped the same way except for the engine. Then Ranger had a Pro XS and the Nitro has a Verado. If you are looking for the most bank for your buck I think you can find it in a (new non current) Nitro.

Thinking about getting a newer boat...
A new carpet job will cost you around $1000 +-. It won't increase the value of the boat by that much but will help it sell faster.

Idling with trolling motor down?
I do it when crossing a cove so I don't have to put the sonar in standby.

New units choice
The keystrokes (commands) are completely different. I have a Low and my bud has a Bird. Neither one of us can use the other's unit at all so if you are familiar with either brand go with the familiar brand or like Francho said go to a store and spend some time with both units. You may also want to put Garmin in the mix.

What Scales do You Use?
I tried a lot of digitals and could never find one that gave consistent readings so I bought a Boga several years ago and haven't looked back.

Deep cycle battery?
I find them to be lighter weight and longer lasting than flooded cell batteries. They can also hold a charge a lot longer than flooded cell batteries.

Charging battery without unplugging trolling motor
I never unplug mine. It is too hard to get to. Most of the time I throw the main power switch because of having several things in the boat that draw power even shut off. My former boat of 14 years did not have a master power switch. I never unplugged and had no problems.

Glow in the dark powders
I have used it some. It seems to only work on light colors.

Who uses a Boat Cover?
I use the cover when the roads are wet. I use it for long road trips like to TX or MS. I also use it when I am camped which is usually 8-10 weeks per year. Normal back and forth to the lake I don't use it.

Trolling motor help
Not much of a job at all if you can find a trolling motor with the same foot print as yours then it is just a bolt on job and run some wires.
