Drop-shot rod....again
The Alpha brand isn't quite known and little to no information is out on them. Whereas, the G Loomis, Shimano, Kistler, Megabass, Phenix, Daiwa, St Croix, Dobyns, Denali, etc brands has been producing rods and has built a good brand reputation from being in the industry. While Alpha may make a great rod as I have no idea, they will need to continue and build a following to enhance the brand. With little to no information, it's hard to even consider Alpha. Do they even have any dealers?

Drop-shot rod....again
Megabass Orochi XX Whipsnake Shimano Expride 6'10 ML G Loomis GLX 822S DSR G Loomis NRX 822S DSR A ton of options. My first choice would be the GLX or Orochi XX. Personally like JLewis said I would skip Alpha angler.

phenix recon elite 796 for wakes, swimbaits
As a versatile rod, it can easily handle the s wavers, 4-5 inch bull shad. The Hudd 68 it can do in a pinch as the rod is rated to 2.5 lbs and the hudd 68 ROF 5 weighs 2.0 oz. I think it will due great given the versatility you are looking for as well as soft enough tip for treble hook baits.

Thinking about a shorter frog rod
I am so impressed with the XX and Levante rods I have. The Perfect Pitch is definitely a versatile rod that can be utilized for jigs and frogs. Good choice

Yikes! Help with high end rod choice!!
The 842, 844, 903 and 904 are my favorites. They all have a place in my boat everytime out.

Sixgills
I wasn't impressed with the Six Gill Typhoon my buddy owns. I think there are much better reels at the same price and even at cheaper prices.

2019 Levante vs orochi XX vs Destroyer
The Levante, XX, and Destoryer are all fabulous. IMO the Destroyers are well worth the price however, it really depends on how much you want to spend. The Levante is among the finest $200 rod, the XX is among the finest $300 rod, and the Destroyer is among the finest $400 rod. I personally like the Destroyers for any bottom contact presentation as they are extremely impressive in terms of sensitivity. It really comes down to what you want to spend as well if you prefer EVA foam, full cork, split grip, etc. You will notice an increase in sensitivity from the Levante to the XX to the Destroyer. Regardless you wont be upset as I own them all. They can't be beat at the prices they are offered at. I'd let you preference in terms of handle configuration determine which series. I'm not that picky but if you are, that could help you decide.

All purpose medium powered rod
The Levante and XX Jerkbait Special are awesome. The OneTen Special is a super sweet rod too. Youll like them a ton. Very happy with them.

Was curious if anyone has expereince with painting flutter spoons. I wonder if I could get a pearl white spoon with a blue glitter to adhere to a 5" Nichols Flutter Spoon. Anyone have experience with powdercoating, spray painting, etc?

NRX 893 & Dsrk Sleeper
Bantam MGL and Metanium MGL are among my two favorites. The Bantam MGL is a BEAST. However, the Aldebaran MGL is amazing too on certain setups.
-
NRX 893 & Dsrk Sleeper
the NRX 893 balances perfect with the Met MGL. NO complaints at all about balance.

Hello!!
Thanks Bluebasser! Look forward to talking with all of you.

NRX 893 & Dsrk Sleeper
The 893 is amazing. I agree 100%. A 3/4 oz lure may be at the top of it's range but it's easily my favorite bottom contact rod. If you plan to throw more around 3/8 oz-1/2 oz, I would do the 893C. But if you plan on consistently going with 1/2-3/4 oz, I would consider the 873 or 894. Any NRX with a Chronarch MGL, Bantam MGL, Aldebaran MGL, or Metanium MGL is heaven. Hope this helps.
