New Daiwa Products....
People are still going to want the Lexa because of the TWing system. A lot of swimbaiters like braid to leader...

Wow. Bad time to need to restock on baits.
I stopped in our local Dicks sporting goods yesterday and it is wiped out too. Unless you want bobbers and some basic eagle claw hooks, you are out of luck. Lol. They are virtually out of rods and reels which was crazy. There is no way we recover quickly to restock all the baits and terminal tackle...this is going to take a while.

Beginners tackle - not the ned rig!
I have taught a lot of older people and an even more kids. Kids are easy because you can hook them up to catch panfish and they are happy. Or give them a swimming grub and they have fun casting over and over, sometimes catching. Also kids are a sponge and learn quickly! Most adults I have taught were proficient as fisherman to some degree so they pick up on new techniques pretty quickly. This is the first adult that has all the gumption and is very eager to learn but hasn't really fished. And he never disclosed that until our last trip! Lol. We planned a trip to the river so we can catch a bunch of smallies and he can get the hang of it. It was just a revelation that not all easier fish catching techniques are beginner friendly - at least to me. Thanks for all the suggestions, I have him hooked up with a tex-posed worm and a weedless keitech for tonight as we agreed it would be best not to use a baitcaster today.

Humorous Recommendations
As is usually the case I get pop up ads on facebook recommending I buy more tackle. I have NO idea why and really do not need any help, but I digress. What's odd is that two ads have thrown in a suggestion. Just 1, but a similar one... So I need to ask, is this something I wear for luck? Do I wear it on my head? Is it a reel cover perhaps? Do I fish with nothing on but this?

6th Sense Curve 55 Questions
It's 3/8 oz - I would say it can be used on either spinning or casting. For someone proficient with a bc though it shouldn't be a problem. My cut off for bc lures is usually anything under a 1/4 oz on traditional gear.

Beginners tackle - not the ned rig!
We have done the handling and release- everyone I I fish with I explain the importance of having hook removal tools. To me those are just as important as having line on your reel! You are probably right and after wednesday I will definitely take a back seat in regards to fishing. Wednesday is going to cost me 30 bucks. Lol.

Beginners tackle - not the ned rig!
So I have been fishing with a guy this year and helping him learn. It wasn't until recently I figured out he is basically just starting out. He wants to catch fish and he wants to use a baitcaster... He likes fishing jerkbaits, albeit wrong as he doesn't jerk them, he slowly reels them in sort of twitching it and wonders why I catch more than 5 to 1 over him. Anyway, the other day we were out on bigger water and I hooked him up with a Ned rig. I explained how to use it and he would make a couple casts and then go back to his baitcaster, trying moving baits. He can't cast very far. As in, maybe 30 feet with a crank. But he keeps chucking it out, backlashing and having all sorts of trouble. Part of it may be my problem as I do everything I can to not use a spinning rod. I was throwing large swimbaits and stuff looking for the big bite but I begrudgingly picked up my Tatula Lt spinning rod with a ned, fire it out and within a few minutes exclaim, "I got one"...reel down and set the hook. I caught a small fish but used it so I could show him it is very effective. I went back to chucking my Deps 250. Later, on the ride home, he asked me how I knew I had a fish on and that's when it dawned on me...Neds are terrible for teaching someone bite detection and when you have a fish. Sure, that small bait with a small exposed hook makes hookup rates climb...but it isn't a feel bait and it doesn't teach you anything about a fish biting. I knew I had a fish because I saw my line moving - something that is just second nature to me. Something that for new fishermen, especially with 10# mono is not second nature. He's only caught 2 bass this year and both came on a jerkbait when he was hung up on weeds and was trying to rip it through. So now I realize I have to go back to the drawing board on an effective way for him to catch bass and have fun. He currently has 2 rods - a 6'6" mh casting rod and a 6'6" m spinning rod. I just spooled up his casting rod with new line(40# braid) because he backlashed beyond repair. He wants to frog fish but really doesn't have the gear - we are fishing wednesday and I want to put him on some fish but want him to have fun too. I wish I had a MH spinning rod for him to fish but I think I may just give him one of my M spinning rods to pair with his other spinning rod and throw a Carolina rig on it and a wacky rig on the other. I don't know, what are yinz thoughts? I would rather have him on the fish than me.

Help An Idiot......why Do I Break So Many Rods?
I have never broken a rod on the hookset...but I have never seen a reason to set the hook as hard as I see a lot of people. The only fish I really torque on are Esox...bass aren't that hard to hook.

Gonna fish in the Wednesday Night Lunkers tournament at Nock this week. I will have to fish normal baits I suppose....

Wow. Bad time to need to restock on baits.
We have two local shops - Wacky Worm and another place that carries some stuff. Wacky worm is pretty well stocked but definitely lean on some things. The owner stated that getting new stuff in right now is almost impossible as all the warehouses and wholesalers are out. This isn't looking good for the next few months. The other place I mentioned I stopped into this morning for kicks...they are literally empty. They usually carry a lot of Rapalas...they had 2. Yes, 2. 2, 6" jointed floating minnows. The rest if the pegs were empty there. They had 5 spools of line - some 4# vanish and other light line. It was really sad. They said everyone bought up everything and they are unable to get more right now. I don't know how this impacts us in the next year, but I can't imagine it will help us in getting tackle cheaper.

Delaware Water Gap
I wouldnt take a glass boat on the Delaware. Flat bottom aluminum is the way to go. Also, I dont know when you plan to do this, but most game animal's are not in season until the fall when it is pretty cold.

Ima Flit Jerkbait from TW 25 days sale runs bad
I was thinking and thought of something else - are you using a split ring or snap on the bait? If so, try it without, if you are not, try adding one. I have a few flits and I run mine with a snap and they run true but don't walk the dog anywhere near what a vision or pointer does.

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
This was the past week - I have been selling off a lot of my other hobbies to make room for some more tackle. I really enjoy catching fish on new techniques even though I dont get to go fish for biggins much. I got the spybaits specifically for the lake I was fishing today only to find out they were pretty much worthless.

Yes. And this is a problem because I don't have a class A license.

Compact buzzbaits
Those buzz toads/frogs? Or you can buy buzz bait blades, 3 or 4 blade profiles and attach them to the front of any soft plastic... https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-VMFISHING.html?from=basres

Latest Tackle Purchase Thread (Bait Monkey Victim Support Group)
I purchased a spy bait a few years ago...opened it, threw it in the tackle box and never threw it because I thought it looked stupid. Last week I tried it out for the first time and caught a fish on the first cast. So I knew I had to jump into the game and had plans to throw them today off ledges in Nockamixon after looking at graphs and never having been there...showed up to a very dirty lake with 1' visibility and a lot of vegetation. Lol. At least I stocked up on some spybaits. I also discovered my frog game was poop, so stopped off and got a few frogs. Not shown in the pictures are 4 terminator spinnerbaits with Oklahoma blades. Those are getting VERY hard to come by and are IMO, the best blades to switch it up from the standard willow.
