Help finding rare lure
Bad news man...it looks like a Bagley Kill R' B. The old balsa ones that were fantastic! I have a few of these and am scared to lose them because the action is great. I could be wrong though, I realize the old kill r B's I have are round bill.

While Bass fishing today...
The perch were hitting everything and I also caught a 30+ inch pickerel out of the yak in an hour of fishing before the storm hit. Sadly I caught 0 bass.

Is anyone else getting tired of the Squad?
Onerod, one of the original Googans always had the best content anyway. He is nice, does things like picking up trash and doesn't act like an egotistical maniac. As far as YouTube fishing goes I have always watched a lot of the BassResource videos, Realistic Fishing, 1Rod and Mad River Outfitters. Other than that I occasionally watch some Scott/Roland Martin videos and the In Fisherman guys but have always steered away from most of the Googan stuff because they don't teach anything and they try to be entertaining but aren't...

MEGADOG
I have some muskie top water weagles and I have never had a bass hit it. Or a muskie for that matter. It does look very nice though.

Spinning Reel Handle Problem
No problem, it is adjustable so you can change it to a left or right hand retrieve! Good luck!

Spinning Reel Handle Problem
Yeah dude, you have it tightened up wrong. Loosen it up all the way until the joint on the handle side will bend out further...reseat it and then tighten up the nut again.

Recommended Hook For 10” Ribbontails
Running out of something is my biggest fear...which is why when I have 1 or 2 packs left of something I go buy 10 more. Sigh.

Spinning Reel Handle Problem
If you have a picture that would be helpful but it sounds like you may need to back the nut off the handle, make sure it is seated correctly and retighten it. Also, being a cheap reel it may be flexing a lot and getting caught.

FL vs N LM Catchability
I think you are spot on with the seasonal disparity. Our northern bass are basically in suspended animation for 1/4 of the year where they aren't seeing ANY lures except maybe live bait or jigs, if anything. The northern bass also have other predatory fish to compete against (muskie, Pike and pickerel) and with a shorter feeding window on the year need to be a little more aggressive.

Reel Line Capacity Question
Does anyone ever have problems getting spooled? The first 30 or 40 yards of line on my spools only ever sees the light of day twice...when it goes on and when it comes off. Since I use braid for almost all of my main lines if the line is getting worn out I just reel it on to another reel to reverse it. I fished for muskie a lot and never had a fish spool me... Leaders get changed out all the time but the main line is always fine. When buying line I figured out those small 150 yard or so spools were worthless as I would end up only getting 1 1/2 spools of line....better to get the 300+ so I have less waste.

Favorite storage
For soft plastics nothing has ever totally satisfied me but the best thing so far is big clear zipper tackle bags separated by style with the baits in their original packaging. Hardbaits go in any number of different size and shape Plano and other brands of boxes. Rustrictor boxes look neat and I may get a few of those...

KastKing baitcasters
I got 2 kastkings...one quit working after 2 short adventures - the thumb "bar" quit disengaging after casting. I tore it down and tightened the reel up with a washer but it still doesn't always like to engage after casting. So that one sits in the dark corner on a shelf. The second one lasted 1 outting and will not stop squeaking...I have torn it apart and oiled it, sprayed it with reel magic and lubed it but it still squeaks...so that one works but I won't use it again either. I feel duped by these reels as everyone was posting videos and reviews touting these cheap but high quality reels - as it turns out these were all "sponsored" reviews they got from giving out free stuff to anglers. And forget returning it because that is more a pain in the butt than anything. The Kastking rods I bought though are pretty nice. I like those a lot for the price... I would also like to add I have never had a reel you can feel flex when hung up or fighting a fish...that bothered me a lot.

Summer post spawn bass
Depending on the depth, you can mostly get away with unweighted Texas rigged plastics - worms, craws or lizards. Depends what you have in there for forage. If it's a little deeper and the bottom isn't weedy and/or sludge you can use a 1/8 oz jighead with a curlytail grub. I would also recommend coming back after dark - 11pm to 1 am and throw a chatterbait with a craws or flappy trailer a few feet off the shore going around. Reel moderately slow and you will get some hits...

First Follower & Strike on Swaver 168 - Thoughts?
After seeing how well the feathered trebles look on the Gantarel's I have I put some slightly smaller feathered trebles on my s wavers so they stay up against the bait better when in the water. I have only caught 3 fish with this setup but I haven't missed any...

That's crazy to me. I don't even put those two baits to be used in the same way.

What bait for tiny pumpkinseed that won't keep coming off (kids!)
Small pieces of gizzard on small circle hooks that are suspended below a bobber works great for my kids. They catch the occasional bullhead too.

Budget casting rod with a large lure weight range
The way I see it (if you are hell-bent on it only being one rod) your best option is a medium rod. You are going to lose control on light rigs and heavy rigs. Feel will also be compromised on a lot of applications but it will be "doable". There is a reason they market so many different rods, powers and flexes...
