  1. Megabass, nrx, conquest owners: How or where do you get guides replaced so that they come out matching the factory look?
  2. I had the 77 and sold it. Lost too many fish couldn’t get a good hook set on trigs with the moderate action.
  3. I bought the 610 for flukes and the 72 for trigs. For those two techniques rod weight is super important to me so I like them a lot so far because they are super light and decently sensitive. I think the 610 would be a good spinnerbait rod. I think the levante is more sensitive but it’s a lot heavier.
  4. If your standing up in the boat there is really no reason to go with a shorter rod. That being said, I think 6’10” or 7’ are the best “all around” lengths.
  5. I’m not a big guy (6’ 200lbs) but the kayak I have is supposedly made for big guys, it’s a perception outlaw 11.5. The seat is super wide.
  6. I'll give you a story, then the lessons: I live in Ohio but was on a trip to Houston (bass fishing popular there?) and went to a pond smack dab in the middle of the city called tom bass regional park. Pressured. So I went at 6am. I saw a bass boil at the surface. Threw a soft plastic toad PAST it and reeled it back super fast then killed it right in the area where I saw the bass. Sure enough I caught a nice 3lbr. Lessons: Go when others don't. Force the bass to react. I have observed that most of this "pressure" is people throwing finesse baits on spinning reels, which is fine, but everyone tends to go finesse because they are in the same boat as you. Therefore do the opposite of them and don't give the bass a chance to get a good look at your bait. Throw chatter baits, crank baits, topwater and other baits that will "trigger" the bass' instincts. And another thing most of those pond fisherman do is fish super slow. Therefore do the opposite, try fast retrieves to see if you can trigger the fish. This has worked for me. I mostly fish ponds and this year (which basically just started here in Ohio) I've caught a 2 4lbrs, a 5.5 and a 6lbr already at highly "pressured" ponds.
  7. I also agree with this but I would do something like this: 76 expride 73 expride 7 Zodias or levante 7 squarebill Zodias, levante or tatula 7 Chatterbait would be E6x 844 mbr
  8. Ok I weighed the rods: 7’ mb tour versatile was 5.2 and the Zodias 7’2” mh was 4.4! Which is the same as the equivalent Expride! Megabass is a beautiful rod and after fishing them both the Megabass is also more sensitive but that may be because of its ultra stiffness which makes it harder to pitch and cast with. I’m going to sell the mb and keep the Zodias because it’s sensitive enough and more efficient to use for me. I hope this helps!
  9. Rod weight is obviously more important since your grabbing the reel, the weight that you really notice is mostly the result of rod. That being said the weight itself of the rod is not the only factor, balance makes a difference. I currently have a 7’3” Zodias that feels lighter than a 7’3” nrx i had and it’s because the weight of the butt section balances out the tip better. There are other factors but your best bet is to take your reel to a store and put it on a few different rods to see what feels good to you.
  10. Tatula is one of the lighter rods for the money which makes a difference for frogging. Also a good warranty.
  11. Yes if you want a do it all u need the E6x mbr 3 power. Or possibly the megabass levante diablo.
  12. Ok I just got 2 zodias 72 and 610 mh’s. They both feel lighter or at least much better balanced than my megabass tour versatile. I will try to report back about sensitivity later. The mb has plenty of sensitivity so it will be a good battle.
  13. I’ll keep this going when I get my Zodias 610mh tomorrow. I had the previous version of the Zodias in the past and it was very sensitive. I have the levante tour versatile and it is super stiff but it is fairly sensitive.
  14. I just got a garmin echomap uhd on the bass pro spring sale for my paddle kayak. But I noticed someone said side imaging doesn’t work well at very slow speeds. Anybody have side imaging on their paddle kayaks? Got any tips? I don’t want to have to wear myself out paddling just to use my new unit.
  15. Because of the two extremes of opinion (fast vs moderate) I went with the loomis mbr 844 which seems to be the compromise in between. It has been the perfect rod for Chatterbait for me. I rarely lose a fish with it.
  16. I recommend a shimano dc reel. It helps me chuck that frog super far and frogs can be weird to cast at times.
  17. You need to pick up these rods and feel them before deciding. One big factor is the overall weight of the rod. In your price range I would consider the Daiwa tatula with the cork handle. It is one of the lightest rods at the price with a good warranty. That being said, I agree with others that have said it is better to get a stiffer rod to get better hook ups and have the power to land the fish, that’s why I have a champion 735 (extra fast) But then you’ll need to learn how to use it because it will be more difficult to cast and work the bait. One thing that can help is getting the best reel you can afford, it can help gain back some of that lost casting distance.
  18. I tried it and also lost a few fish on it. Later I noticed the hook tip wasn’t sharp and it was brand new so I think like someone else mentioned maybe not the best hook quality. I’m not ready to give up on it because obviously it gets bit I just need to keep a better eye on the hook, even right out of the package.
  19. Live target, River 2 sea phat mat daddy, jackall kaera. Black is my best color by far. Don’t use poppers much because for me they aren’t as efficient as the regular ones for working through and around cover.
  20. Like others have said, get a glx 844 if you really only want one rod. I have a few combos but I’ve always thought that if i could only have one it would be my met with the 844.
  21. What do you guys mean by “og” tatulas? Are they are previous model or are you just referring to the model with the cork handle?
