  1. WOW is all I have to say, just got through the entire thread, so much incredible information. Thank you to everyone who contributed. I just made a received an order from Siebert, got some more Snipers, loaded up on the Fogy (killing it recently) and tried my hand at 2 of the Dredge Series Packages, the Dock Rocker and G2 both in 3/8oz since I have a few 1/2oz from before. Looking forward to throwing them with the new knowledge. One thing I did not see, does anyone think that 'Living Rubber' make a world of difference? I did not even know it existed before reading through this thread.
  2. humm this is interesting, I know my hooks are razor sharp, but maybe I m not truly setting the hook since I already have some tension bringing the bait in. Ill keep this in mind. Thanks
  3. Hey, love the product. What is the difference in the Swim Jig and the Shot Caller Swim Jig? Thanks!
  4. I've been using zako and doing really well. Only other I tried was a Pearl white super fluke to pair with white chatter. That also worked, went with that because I didnt have a white zako.
  5. Makes sense thanks. I purchased this as a multi purpose rod and mainly for jig and bottom fishing actually, but the Chatter bite has been so good I cant take them off haha
  6. Yes doing my best at this, good advice Thank you ok thanks for the feedback, good to know Im not crazy haha Thanks I love it, figure spend a little more since I only have 3 set ups total. Great deals helped lol and it was actually mainly for jigs but the chatter bite has been on fire. Appreciate the feedback, good to know it wasn't 100% me just doing things wrong This makes a lot of sense, thanks for the knowledge, reason I love this forum. Question on the drag. I tend to keep it much tighter when throwing Chatters to help with tension. However being newer with bass, should this be lighter, stronger when bringing them in? I feel like they should take some line correct but also wanna be able pull them in. I know this is a broad question but drag has always confused me some with fishing. I have been catching fish in the 2-3lb range recently, when I am used to mainly dinks haha. For me anything over 2 is a good fish. 3.25lb is my PB. So I think its also an adjustment to catching larger fish, and a learning curve. Losing that pig (easily 4.5-5.5lb) before killed me and I wanted to make sure it wouldn't happen again. I upgraded this set up (great prices on them) and because I only have 3 set ups (2 Spin and 1 casting). walking the banks I really only like to bring 2 or 3 rods, especially the woods and such I go through. This rod was mainly for jigs and some other heavier lures but the chatter bite has been great. Interesting that Fluro should help more over the Braid, good to know. I was debating going back, but I have seen a large uptick in bites with the Fluro over the Braid. Keeping te fish under the surface is the key Ive learned, that thing jumps im losing it like 75% of the time All of that makes sense. Thanks for the feedback
  7. Hello, Been getting into chattterbaits more recently and doing rather well on them. Caught my PB and 2nd PB this year. Been throwing the Siebert 'Fogy' (3/8 - 1/2 oz with zako trailers). Also have 2 jackhammers from last year I got on sale. Prior to getting my new baitcaster set up I was using St. Croix Triumph 6' 6" Med with 30lb Braid paired with Pflueger President XT 35x It worked well but the 1/2oz was a too much for this rod, 3/8 was fine. I wanted to use this for more finesse stuff so I switched over to my baitcaster. Expride 7' 2" MH with Curado DC. This is my all purpose rod as I walk the banks 99% of the time. I recently tried 15lb Fluro seeing some great results for the most part. Was using 30-50lb braid. (have this Mono backed, to Braid, to Fluro on top (found this suggestion here in order to not waste a lot of Fluro) Again I have been getting the lure crushed but having trouble keeping them from jumping off. Maybe I am inexperienced at catching fish further out? Cath most of my fish using soft plastics, closer to the bank. The biggest thing is keeping them from jumping, this is where they can spit the hook out most of the time. I lost what would have easily been a new PB (5+lb) 2 weeks ago on a jump. Very disappointing... but my own fault Whey they hit I set the hook try to maintain consent pressure and reeling. Also when further out keep the rod tip low so they dont jump as much. Am I doing something wrong? Should the drag be tighter? Looser? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you
  8. Nice I cant find scrounger heads anywhere. Wanna try them
  9. Welp... this happened. Got a solid deal on a lot. Prob sell a few since I'll never need this many haha
  10. Check out Scheels online, they are having fathers day sale. I just stocked up on some dark sleepers, space monkeys and more. Great prices and fast shipping. Was my 1st time ordering with them and will again.
  11. Welp BPS screwed me out of my Ci4+ sale so I decided to splurge on some other things realizing I really didn't need the reel. 2nd order from Siebert Outdoors, cant wait to try out the other Fogy colors since I have been killin it on the Hot Sauce and 2 different Dredge packages to try out. Been wanting to try the Space Monkey and ManBearPig for little while now and always good to stock up on some Dark Sleepers, although may have ordered few too many. Anyone try out that ChaseBait Mudbug? Couldnt resist giving it a go. S/O to Scheels, 1st time ordering, super fast and great sale. Like always Siebert crazy fast turn around time
  12. I just got this exact rod a few weeks ago and I LOVE IT!!! my only casting set up, super versatile on the banks
  13. Edit: Forgot to mention Have a Curado DC spooled with 30-50lb braid or more recently switched to 15lb Invizx Fluro. Really like the Fluro over the braid So I got more into Bass fishing the past few years. Grew up trout and carp fishing. Just upgraded to a nicer rod (expride). I never really thought too much about the lure weight rating on rods until now since I want to really take care of this. I like to walk the bank with 2 or 3 setups (only have 3) to be versatile. This casting and 1 or 2 spinning for more finesse. This is rated for 3/8 - 1oz being a MH, Of course throwing lures well over the rating can easily break the rod but: - How much outside the recommended range would you go? - Would you go much lower than the 3/8? - What are some pros/cons to going slightly outside the recommended? For example if I toss a finesse 5/16 or 1/4 jig would I have problems?
  14. My only Baitcasting set up. Also my 1st higher end rod. Absolutely love it. Its like a feather for walking the banks and super sensitive. Curado DC is my 1st casting reel too. Thing casts a mile
  15. My rig is called the "This is my last cast" Its pretty simple: 1. Get ready to leave, tell yourself this is your last cast 2. Decide to cast 3-10 more times 3. Snag and spend 15 minutes to eventually break it off 4. Leave without the lure and 30 minutes of your life wasted
  16. So after cutting line to add lures. 2 snags where I lost some line. My baitcasting is down to half to belittle under half spool of fluro. I can tell because I can launch it out and have only handful wraps left. Do you just cut off and add new line? Seems like big waste of line
  17. Thanks for a great product. Ordered another lot today. Couple different Dredge sets, more snipers, and some other color Fogy. Cant wait to get them!!!
  18. Got my PB this spring on the Hot Sauce Fogy with Zako trailer!!! Was my 1st order from Siebert. Looking to order more now as I tried a few in different colors to see what I liked. They are awesome
  19. Was out last week and landed 9-10 around 1-1.35 lb little guys on the same bubblegum wacky rigged. It was pretty dirty water but shallow around 3-5 ft. some were hitting it in 1-2 ft by the bank
  20. Rage bug on the Fogy? Interesting I had some great success with Zako. Ill have to try this
  21. Agreed. My order was placed at 730AM. Was "in Process" when I went to bed woke up and Paypal was charged for the couple other things I picked up. Called in and was told they were sold out in minutes. Yet I have friends who ordered hours after me and have theirs shipped. That is what ticks me off the most. I wish I just followed my gut and went to Cabelas first thing to try and get one but I trusted the online confirmation
  22. They have a lot of great soft plastics on sale. Are there promo codes on the site? I found one for $15 off but I cant figure out where to enter it.
  23. Cabelas/Bass pro ad someone posted in FB group. call your closest local to see if they are having the sale. Not sure if its national or online
  24. So it's funny I was looking at the ci4+ because looks like cabelas has it on sale on june 11th for $150. I was all about upgrading my rod to another 6 6 - 6 10 but ML from a L. But d**n at 150 I'm tempted haha I also have a president XT 35x on a M 6 6 triumph and love it. Combo I really enjoy for chatterbait and some middle sized stuff. (Used only these 2 spinning for while. Just got baitcaster added into my inventory). Still think I'm going take everyone's advice and go rod first. thanks! It's a 25x which is perfect size for the banks fishing I do for finesse. Def think I'm going rod upgrade but ci4 going kn sale for 150 at cabelas next week... so tempting to upgrade the president xt with a 2500 ci4 Haha
  25. I run high vis braid to a Fluro Leader. Has made a big difference.
