During spawn will be the hardest for me since I refuse to mess with the reproductive cycles of the fish I like to catch. Cant catch them if I wont go. Lol

Casting Rod comparison
What Lure weight and distance? Most rods have a rating of min and max lure weight on the rod. This is part of why we all strive to have 1000 rods and reels man lol

Happy Thanksgiving
Id like to say thanks to all those here at BR who have helped guide me on my 1st year of fishing. Its been a true love for me. Thanks for all the info provided on bassresource.com. Due to the combination of the 2 things I have mentioned I have surpassed those I fish with not only in consistency of catches but also the quality of catches. Hope everyone has a wonderul day and evening. Be thankful for your family, lives, and hobbies. They are all blessings.

Nornthern California delta Striper run is upon us
This summer I took a picture of every striper caught. No matter if it was a shaker or a goliath. I will take all the pictures and look at dates, times, tides for that specific pictures time and day. Moon phases and air pressure. I want to really pinpoint what makes them tick. Currently the info I have is simple. It has taken me 15 non keepers to catch one keeper avg. Tide going out has proven way more effective for stripers biting. To the point the bite can be completely deadon incoming. It will slack up and then the moment it begins going out the bite turns on. Bait. Most folk seem to fall into 2 bait categories. Anchovies and live bait. However I am not a fan of either. Anchovies (frozen) although gets bites the chances of a keeper are low. Shakers love them. Live bait is simply to much of a wait for me. All day wait for a small % chance. The bait I choose is sardines. I chunk them by cutting the head and tail off. Then I split it directly down the middle seperating the dark gray top side from the white belly side. Cut that into manageable chunks for your hook size. I have found the belly side of the sardine is loved by smaller sized striper but the dark gray top side is not. The larger sripers do seem to enjoy this part of the sardine. To the point of stating 10 keepers from 18-26 inches were caught on the dark gray part of the sardine. 14 inches and up are usually on that gray. I have yet to catch a keeper on the white belly part of the sardine however I have come close multiple times. For the rig. 50 lb braid to a steel 2 hook leader, 4/0 straight shank hooks, 4oz weight below hooks. Hooks suspend in water. Generally white belly chunk on bottom hook and dark gray chunk on the top hook. I have typed all of this out in hopes that I can get some feedback to further improve my efficiency. Thanks BR.

Tendinitis cure/suggestions??
I would suggest wrapping it when doing strenuous activities such as cranking. There are many exercises yoy can do to help the area recover. I suggest googling it. For me my tennis elbow (as I have heard it referred to) takes 3-4 weeks to recover when I trigger it. It never full goes away. However it is manageable to the point of not noticing the effects.

getting into bass fishing
I would suggest sticking to 3 basic lure concepts. 1 Top Water. : popping frog 2 mid level : spinner baits (personal favorite) 3 bottom :3/8oz bullet weight with soft plastic generally 5 inch senko but not limited to just that. Any soft plastic of a reasonable size can catch bass. I understand you want a direction to take so I am offering you suggestions however there is so much more that goes into proper lure selection than levels of water. The time of year, water temp, the fishes natural forage, time of day, air pressure, all play a part of what is going to happen. Good luck and welcome to BR

Thinking About Giving Up
Hey bud I was new to bass fishing this year. I spent the 1st 3 months trying and failing. And trying and failing. And trying and yet again failing. My issue was simple. I would abandon the presentation way to fast. Id tie on a new lure completely different from what I had and if in a half hour I didnt catch a bass I tie another. Id also assume its the body of water I was fishing and try another. But I never actually went full through a body of water to catch a bass with one presentation. Slowing down can mean many things. For me it was slow down my frustration ls and stick to one presentation with one lure. Id change the color of that lure but I wouldnt change the type of lure. I slowed down and not only began to catch fish but knew my bodies of water and where the fish "should" be. My advise is slow down. Slow down your moving of bodies of water, stick to one, slow down your lure changes, and just learn your body of water. If you dont have a friend or a guide to help you I believe this is the fastest way to self learn.
