  1. These have been extremely hepful. Alot of learning this week following exactly what you stated here. And a bunch of bass caught. Thank you. I employed all of what you stated here. Thank you. It was very helpful to have specific instructions to follow to get a grip on all of this. It will only continue to get better. ?
  2. So I followed alot of the advice here and I have a great understanding of the feel of soft plastics and some of the bites. I have gotten much more focused on line watching and it is producing. Thank you for your help BR.
  3. Seems I have offended your place in this forum. That was not my intent. My intent was to open some eyes to why that 10 fold is not interacting on the forum. As for report a post button. Il use that often im sure
  4. Boredom of long term members. Thats exactly how forums become slow. People come to a forum to interact with others. Pointing someone to a video in a helpful way makes alot of sense. But trying to make things funky out of boredom is not cool. There also new people that join daily. Id venture to guess they joined because a decent % of them are new to bass fishing. One persons boredom is another persons brand new. For those who are brand new they like to be able to interact with those who have more knowledge than them. But mosty get pushed towards videos or just flat out told they are asking rudimentary questions. You might be right it might be out of boredom but it is still in bad taste. If people just for a moment stopped and thought back to when they were new to fishing and how hard it actually was maybe they would be more kind. On the slow thing. Im a member of alot of specialization forums. For example Sherdog. Its a MMA (mixed martial arts) forum. Bass fishing is probably more popular tbh. That forum gets thousands of messages per day. But you are correct it is not fossilized. Its just not frequented as much. I think that could easily change.
  5. If I have offended your position here in the forum I am sorry. And yes that is slow in comparison to many other forums I frequent. There are thousands of responses daily. Questions and topic get talked about non stop. Im not saying this forum is bad mind you I am just saying it is indeed slow. On the worthiness factor maybe your right. Im not a mod. But when I see people down talk others (which has happened to me frequently) for asking questions it bothers me. Im not looking for an issue. So Il just keep it to myself from now on.
  6. If I mistook your words I do sincerely apologize. With those being the 1st words spoken in your text it seemed like it was yet again another brush off of a question from another long term member. If that was not your intent my apologies.
  7. I love braid. But I also havent used anything below 30lb test. I hear it can become an issue with the lower test. I also dont see any real reason to use lower than 30lb so I guess it really is not an issue.
  8. Also I forgot to mention that chatter are big bass baits. So if where you are fishing is not heavily populated with big bass you will have a hard time. The vibration it gives off is that of a larger meal. The smallest I have had hit a chatter is about 2.5 lbs. It becomes very important to know which areas are the best areas in your waters. The hierarchy of bass is that of the biggest get the best spots. The smaller ones are forces out into the less desired areas. I sincerely hope this helps bud.
  9. With all due respect comments like this is why this forum is slow. It is a forum. And making people feel stupid for asking a question or wanting to have interactions over said question is the cause for slowness. Its a forum. Let people ask questions.
  10. K. I would try sticking with that black n blue. Also attempt to skip it into areas a normal cast wont go. Thats when ai catch em on the chatter. Running it along the bank is also money.
  11. Are you using a trailer? Also depending on the water clarity you may want to go with a more natural coloring
  12. Ive been painting qith a wide angle brush this entire summer. Now its time for some detail work. I just want some stuff to follow that I may not do now to improve my painting.
  13. You have decsribed me perfectly in you assessment of yourself. Thank you for the response. What I got out of this is I need to slow my roll basically on everything. I have found much like yourself I like to fish fast. For hours on end. But I want and need to get better at the slower side of things. I want to be well rounded but my need for instant gratification seems to dictate my speed.
  14. Thank you. This is helpful. New to fishing trying to figure some stuff out. Thank you. I will give these a shot.
  15. Amazing. They bit the whop and the plop as well!
  16. About as helpful as a thorn in the butt. Thanks
  17. Hello folks back again with questions people are ashamed to ask but not me! Id prefer to get better than be scared of what folks will say. What do you consider a general retrieval time for each lure you throw? Lets assume you have casted 50 yards with each lure. Here is a list please add the time you feel is appropriate for each situation. 1. Weightless senko dragged then paused. (Add time of pause please) 2. same with a hop back to you 3. Spinner 4. jig dragged 5. Jig hopped 6. Chatter bait 7. Swimbait I am wildly aware that all of these can be done fast or slow. What I am looking for is the different answers so I have specific applications to try for each lure. Edit: after numerous responses I would like to change the question. Give me something specific to try that is your go to if nothing else is working speed wise. Thanks
  18. Ok. So you linked me here from the other thread about soft plastics driving me crazy. I followed everything but the spinning rod bit as I dont have one for bass fishing. 2 hours and I got nothing. But after those 2 hours were up I took that soft plastic senko and threw into pond scum. It was so thick the worm basically sat on top of it and worked like a frog. And sure enough thats how I got the bite. I caught that fish but I cheated. I will go again for 2 more hours in a day or 2. I did end up getting a bite after this dragging but I did not get the hook set.
  19. Is the spinning rod due to the light lure? I dont really use a spinning rod much unless Im in salt or brackish waters.
  20. Il try. Its gonna be a challenge lol
  21. I hate the taste of fish. But I have created a rule for myself. If I cant get a hook out I will eat that fish. Very simple and also very effective. I have gotten every hook out that I have set due to this rule. I dont know that this helps you but any additional motivation is good motivation imo.
  22. Look like I got all the choices right!!!!!! What did I win? Lmao
  23. K next time I go out I am only bringing only my rod the soft plastics and some 3/16 oz bullet weights. I am to quick to say screw it this lure isnt working and go back to reaction baits. Im gonna get this and when I do it will be a glorious dink. That I am certain of.
  24. You have a valid point. But cant I just cast it down the bank instead of to the middle of the water work it back to where I am on the bank? Just seems to me i can cover alot of area that boat folk would love to cover in one cast. Thanks for the reminder. I have in fact caught a bass on a drop shot. Does the bite feel similar?
  25. So the cover is all of the above and some toolies. Il try it again and again and again until I figure it out.
