  1. Got out this morning and had lake to myself, no wind. Did good bumping stumps with spinnerbait and even a few top water.
  2. 20# Power Pro on casting. 15# Power Pro on spinning......never an issue with digging. Perhaps I need to target larger fish ?
  3. We actually used starters off 350 engines as anchors growing up.
  4. You guys are awesome. Love hearing some fishing history from the old.......legends. 60 myself but can't compare, thanks.
  5. What a remarkable fishery. Enjoyed, thanks for sharing.
  6. Can we get a few more details ? Baits used, depth ? A-Jay still composing ? Lol
  7. I was that person growing up. Beetle spins, night crawlers, worms with spinners , hard plastic grasshoppers. Remember hanging up alot, braking rods and snapping line but managed a few fish. It wasn't until 1977 when I meant a nice older fellow at county fair who fished local tournaments. We talked bass fishing and told him about our 7 acre farm pond and invited him over. He gotta a hold of that pond and put on an absolute clinic with a Zara spook, big fish.....think I was throwing salmon eggs. Lol He revamped all my tackle, gave me a really nice Shimano baitcaster and we went on fishing together for many years. He has diabetes really bad now but still get together. Those youngsters just need to be shown.
  8. Exactly what I did yesterday. Couldn't catch a cold with spinnerbaits and Senko's, not even drop shot Roboworm. Went to 1/16 Ned California craw and landed 7......5 fish bag of 2lbs. Lol
  9. Worst fishing experience I've had is when lake levels are being lowered for maintenance......the opposite when levels rise.
  10. Just take the pic on your phone then go to edit and enlarge pic. By enlarging you reduce the pixel.
  11. 82* yesterday in VA and no wind so off I went. Lake was as clear as I've ever seen and many bass boats. Nothing on drop shot Roboworm which was surprising so went to 1/16 Ned in California craw and caught 7 small bass but had a blast with med light.......made them feel bigger.....but they weren't.
  12. Always did it manually for years, because auto is to noisy.
  13. Prefer the #4 octopus hook myself and hook is just inside the nose facing leader. Rarely loose a fish even on med light.
  14. It's hard to beat Texas overall. Also like weightless in heavy cover, Neko and drop-shot on flats.
  15. I actually abandoned a local lake because of the algae bloom, deemed it un-fishable. Moved to a different lake today and could throw anything I felt like.
  16. Oboy, really hate to hear that. Thoughts and prayers for you and your family.
  17. Promoting products is just good business practice , it's up to the consumer from there. Time in the field and common sense goes a long ways. Gullibility itself can aid in the success of others......while ya'll are throwing helicopters, I'm just across the way tearing them up on spinnerbaits. Lol
  18. Never threw a DS in stained water but it's a very effective technique in the clear lakes I fish. My only complaint would be casting accuracy with that hanging pendulum.
  19. Got 3 years supply of wood cut, bring it.
  20. My favorite walking bait has also been a Super spook, old bait that still catches. Also walk a Super fluke in the same manner except under water.
  21. I have quite a bit of tackle but not that many color variations so if the fish aren't hit'n what I'm throwing it's because of a high pressure. ? BUT the more time a fish has to look at a bait, maybe color plays a bigger roll, Reaction baits not so much.
  22. Quite a few challenges going on there. Keep your head up and stay positive. Praying for good outcome.
  23. We had a big bust here several years ago. They wired a circuit of lights over huge bait pile, flip a switch and fire away. It actually turned into a family business as they transported Deer to a successful restaurant in the city where venison became a popular menu item. The family was harshly punished, jail time and large fines as it should be. Problem is, dishonest people will do other dishonest acts to pass the time.
  24. Glad ya'll had fun, super nice fish. Why can't we have a Baccarac in VA ?
  25. They call him Tom Brady.
