  1. Growing up as an avid baseball fan , couldn't wait to grab the sports section to check the stats on a game, real meaningful stats like BA, RBI, HR and ERA. Now you have to cycle through crazy stats, here's one. Rays southpaw Ryan Yarbrough has the lowest average exit velocity off bat and ranks 6th in hard-hit percentage. His induced soft contact percentage is amongst the lowest in the league. Why not save some print and simply say.....this guy has been fooling the hitters. Lol
  2. Most impressive win in week 5 was Fitzmagic dismantling the 49ers secondary.....he's prolonging Tua's debut.
  3. Lol, these skunk threads. Honesty is a great human trait, honestly. I had 3 straight SKUNK days early spring 2020.....it stinks.
  4. Back in the late 70's we called them bucktail jigs......hair jigs with uncle josh pork trailer. Black and chartreuse was a smallmouth killer. I went away from them when the consensus said there's better options, likely cost me lots of fish.
  5. 6.1 on KVD spinnerbait in blue gill. 5.9 on luck E strike Jerkbait in pearl. Lost biggest fish in a treetop " under water " . Tried to free fish and lure with a paddle.....SNAP !! Don't believe anything else over 5lb this year and I fished a bunch.
  6. Love the drop shot and always amazed that the tiny little hook is always perfectly located in top off mouth. Casting accuracy suffers some with the hanging pendulum. Lol
  7. SEC is power conference consistently eating up the top 10.......my choice on a Saturday afternoon as well.
  8. I was absolutely amazed at how opportunistic bass really are and how un-shy they can be when recently wade fishing in the river. As i was shuffling my feet to keep traction had several SM all around my feet gouging themselves on craws paying no attention to me......fun to watch.
  9. Palomar knot is so popular because it doesn't break when tied right. Figure out what your doing wrong before ditching this simple knot.
  10. Welcome, nice boat. You fish Mead also ?
  11. Water temps dropped rapidly here making fishing conditions resemble that of winter, slow. Still catching a few shallow on spinnerbait but lots of casts. All in all, still prefer pre spawn over any other time of year.
  12. This does add some level of excitement to this site. Good luck AJ and Kendrick, have fun and be safe.
  13. Yes, 44 acre impoundment called lake Laura, released and never to be seen again.
  14. Like WRB said, you gotta fish where the big ones exist.......that's going to be my excuse as to why I've only caught 1 DD bass in 50 years of bass fishing. It's something you never forget but after many years, 5lbs is a mammoth fish anymore. My 10.2 bass came on Aug 12th 1983 on a brown/black culprit worm, nothing over 8lbs since. Still love hearing and watching video of giant bass being caught and released. Thanks
  15. My local lake is also very low and full of excessive plant life. Couldn't throw anything today that hits bottom or skims the top because of floating debris and bottom cover. Only caught 3 today on a drop shot with 3 ft leader to weight. Can't use any technique with an exposed hook so will likely try weightless Senko or fluke next week.
  16. Own a Seaghost 110 and ain't no way I'm standing in it at 60 yrs old but can throw it in the back of pickup by myself. Bonifide makes a nice yak, hope you enjoy.
  17. Was always a Waylon Jennings, Haggard, George Jones type growing up but after our kids introduced us to the " hip" scene......our house echoed with Justin Bieber and Rhianna. Could have been worse I guess.
  18. Seen him in concert in early 80's, superb guitarist indeed. RIP Mark knopfler is probably my favorite guitar man though......sultans of swing.
  19. I've had bass bust through the ice after a whopper 110......nah. Love cooler water temps as it simplifies my arsenal down to 3 options. Lol
  20. I do prefer braid to Flouro for DS but will admit it's a burden to retie leader in a fishing kayak with compromised vision. Luckily the weight is the weak link.
  21. My app actually has a ringer on it when fishing conditions go to excellent.......sometimes it causes me to run outside and cast AIMLESSLY into the night. Nah, haven't used them in years. Only thing I check is wind speed.
  22. I don't really know why certain colors work in certain conditions but I try to remember them when they do. I see sexy shad in several bait options and always have had good results with that color option.
  23. Something I've learned over many years towing......keep the trailer tires inflated max psi cold. The main culprit to blowouts is low tire pressure and heat buildup. Happy you made it home without harm.
  24. When I see a surplus of carp, especially in coves, I move on......they disrupt the the solitude.
