Leader question
if you havent used fc leader line, just do it. pline shinsei is the best stuff i've used, once i started using it my breakoffs & bad spot reties went down to virtually zero. just ask @TnRiver46 about some of the massive logs i reeled in last sunday

Favorite Tactic
3/4 oz football head jigs. The window can be tight when they are on this bite, but when its time you can nearly call your shots hopping through rocks. I catch more smallies on the ned than anything, not my favorite but undoubtedly the most consistent producer. Good ole dt-6 has also produced some really fun days on the pond

Learning to Fish from the Internet
Great for fine tuning or discovering small intricacies within a certain style. Majority of my learning was growing up going with my pappaw or uncle. You can read all you want but there just isnt anything that beats being in the boat with someone who already knows and is open to sharing. I'd say the most useful thing i've learned from the internet is how to read my electronics better. Tinker a little setting here, try scanning this type of structure there and so on

New to Ned - Help Please!
1. Pfleuger supreme, all star series 6'8 M/F(purple rod, probably 70 bucks at academy, i have way more expensive but this rod is by far my most dependable setup) 2. Powerpro braid 10lb tied to 10lb pline shinsei leader(this is the best leader line i have ever used, once i started my break offs went down A TON)--several advantages of using braid to fluoro leader--your reel will not explode with wind knots. sensitivity is much better with braid. hooksets are easier with braid as you just reel and lift. cheaper, braid will last a few years as opposed to an entire fluoro spool. better sensitivity because of the no stretch factor 3. I didnt see the ned type mentioned, but i would not buy or use anything other than the zman ned lockz. they are fantastic and will not bend regardless the size of fish. I typically throw the 1/5 oz but i would downsize if you are getting hung up too much in the rocks. 4. i dont see why not, if im using artificial bait i just throw a rooster tail. ive never fished for trout with neds specifically i usually just use corn or nightcrawlers, but see no reason why it wouldnt work. purple rod in the pic. i use the lews for my damiki setup

I blew up my 7'1" MF Spinning Rod.
Have this same 13 rod. haven't snapped mine yet but its certainly not my favorite. I throw shad raps with it. You forgot to mention how the line gets hung up on the hook holder every other cast LOL

Any suggestions for small football/tube heads?
give jack collins a shout on facebook. he makes some great stuff at a really fair price point. bought several hand tied finesse ned jigs off of him that are great. Good luck! https://www.facebook.com/jackscustomjigs/

Chatterbait Reel Recommendations
I throw mine on daiwa tatula ct 100hsl -- great reel for skipping and rarely if ever backlashes. The 13 concept z also isnt a bad choice, not sure if they're still 100 bucks on amazon but it gets it done as well

Poll: Best Chatterbait Rod
interesting--i have a never used 3 year old 7'0 h/f veritas that has been sitting in my garage for 3 years(christmas gift). Never have any idea what to use it for but maybe chatterbaits warrant it getting a reel placed on it for the first time?

Skeeter questions
hell of a deal!!! The only thing with mine is when mounting your transducer to the transom. The sponson sticks out pretty far on the right side on the 2014s. you can buy this little attachment from skeeter that helps in no problem but it can hinder your side scanning to left side only They also handle waves better than just about any boat ive been in. Those northern waves are much different than down here, but a few of these lakes in the summer time turn into the gulf of mexico with all of the recreation boats.

Suspending Lipless Crank Baits
yep. water looked like ketchup from the floods this past weekend and was around 49. I usually throw those on medium moderate rod and the fish more or less hook themselves when they choke it
