Well ok I can understand that. I wanted a Bonafide 127 but nobody sells or has one in my area. Closest I found was 5 hrs away. I could have just ordered a new one but I couldn’t afford to buy sight unseen again. I already did that once and had to sell it within a few months. My Big Rig wasn’t my first choice but at least it was a choice I got to make after a test drive good luck in your search. If you’re on Facebook look for groups for each of the kayaks you want

What area are you in? I’m finding kayak owners are more helpful than dealers. Put out a notice for your area and you will probably get lots of offers to try their kayaks. We like to show them off
  3. 2018 Jackson Big Rig Not the HD or FD. Paddle only but I really like the exercise! 14’ and 35” wide its big it’s heavy it paddles like a barge(but that’s probably just me, 60 and out of shape) but it’s very stable and that’s the most important thing to me as I like to stand when fishing. My wife has a Jackson Liska. Nice kayak but not as stable as mine. Paddles nicely. I’ve added a crate with 4 rod holders, anchor trolley with clothesline reel for anchor line, Lowrance Hook2 5. For transporting both kayaks I got a used jetski trailer the holds both kayaks side by side or when I’m alone 1 up the middle.

Welcome love everything I’ve read and seen about the Bonafide 127 There’s some great Bonafide groups on Facebook. I really wanted one but no one in my area had one to try out so I went with my 2nd choice a Jackson Big Rig. Both are very stable boats. Try before you buy!

  6. Is it the front of the seat bar pushing on the back of your leg? That’s what was hurting mine. I got a 3” thick boat seat cushion from Walmart that helped a lot but I think I’m going to get one of these because I can strap it to my seat and it has a spot to relieve tailbone pressure https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076F21H8V/?coliid=I3GXD3I6UJ0VVY&colid=69JVRN42DA9R&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
  7. Yeah I just spent $12500 on a new to me minivan that was 3000 under blue book value that I had no reason to buy. My current van is fine. I just wanted something newer. - I think
  8. I had the ranger, fished a lot of tournaments, gave it up 20 years ago. Didn’t miss it at all. started to get the itch last spring but wanted nothing to do with a boat again and I suck as a bank fisherman. I started looking at canoes and and the sales guy brought out a sit on kayak to try. Loved it! I live close to 5 lakes and a few ponds so it only costs me a few bucks for car gas to go fishing now. That is a huge savings for me. Paddling is also great exercise!
  9. During a Angler of the Year tournament I caught twins 5lb 3oz. only two fish I caught that day but fishing was terrible and I won
  10. I have a Berkley model similar to the one above but mine is over twenty years old. Still works! Puts the line in nice tight coils on the table.
  11. Welcome from the Rochester area
  12. I use a jet ski trailer $500 used. Holds my two kayaks side by side or just mine up the middle. I tried to upload photos, site says they are to large and I’m not sure how to downsize them on my phone
  13. I broke my 201 from the 90’s and called Shimano and they still had the parts. Best part he sent them to me free
  14. Anyone have any favorite movies on Netflicks to watch?
  15. Some good quality cold weather clothing for kayak fishing
  16. Didn’t get out today like I hoped. Weather was supposed to be 46° and sunny and ended up maybe hitting 40° cloudy and over 15mph winds. Tues is calling for 48° but 70% chance of rain. But who knows!
  17. Loved Uncle Josh #11 pork trailers for my jig fishing. Are the around anymore?
  18. And I still use Creme worms. Lots of them
  19. That’s only 5”. They say so far we’ve had 24” and it’s only Dec 5 This Sunday will be the last day to go out and it’s not looking good. Temp is suppose to be 45 but south winds 13-17mph. That’s not good considering that lake goes N-S and that’s the northend?
  20. Ha along the bank I did see foot prints then just a kayak imprint going down
  21. Video has good advise on jigs. When I did tournaments 20yrs ago I always had at least 2 rods rigged with jigs. 3/4oz for heavy weeds and 3/8oz for open water docks. Sometimes 1/8oz with a large skirt for real slow fall under docks and holes in weeds
  22. Cool that works. Thanks
