  1. I bought 2 of those weight balance butt caps for my flippin sticks. It seemed to add so much weight I just never liked them. Chucked the weights and kept the caps
  2. Spoonplugger I was thinking a slip on butt cap would be the easiest. One of these might do the job https://www.mudhole.com/Rubber-Vinyl-Butt-Caps when I bought this rod I never paid attention to the grip length. All my older rods have 6-8”. I haven’t bought a new rod in a long (20yrs) time so these long grips are new to me
  3. Go to youtube and look up anchor trolleys. You don’t want to anchor off the side of your kayak. I’m 6’ 205lbs with a Big Rig and use a 260 paddle bending branches angler pro. Austin has them for $240 now https://www.austinkayak.com/Bending-Branches-Angler-Pro-Kayak-Paddle/ACK24595P.html sometimes I wish I had a 270 size
  4. Thanks can you sand cork to even the thicknesses out?
  5. Disclaimer- I have NO knowledge about rod building! I just bought a 6’9” spin rod to replace a 6’er. Well the butt handle is 4” longer than the 6’er. So I really only bought a 6’5” new rod. I fish out of a kayak and the handle hangs up on me when sitting. When I’m standing it’s not a problem. I figured I could just use a Dremel with a cut off blade to shorten it but how do I finish off the end?
  6. I found a 1956ish Sports Afield magazine of my Grandfathers that had an article about the wacky worm. They used a Creme 6” Scoundrel worm so I did also. They worked and I’ve never switched to anything else So the new 6’9” rod I bought handle is like 4” longer then my old 6’ rod. I guess it’s only 5” longer. I got to use it today. It casts nicely, but I noticed when I went to lift the worm it felt mushy. I didn’t have any hits on it so I can’t report any more than that. Oh I did buy some Owner Wacky Worm hooks to try out
  7. I’ve been fishing a wacky rig since before senkos came on the market. I’ve always used a 6’ M rod, 8lb mono, long shank wire hook. I liked the short rod for skipping the worm under docks when I had my boat. Now I’m in a kayak so skipping is a little harder. I also noticed I’ve been losing more fish since I’ve been in the kayak and I don’t know why. I decided to try a 6’9” ML rod that would be more forgiving in case I was horsing the fish to much with the 6’ M. What’s your thoughts on this?
  8. Nevermind I bought this https://www.sportsmans.com/fishing-gear-supplies/fishing-rods/spinning-rods/lews-speed-stick-spinning-rod/p/1542144
  9. I need a new spinning rod for wacky worm with a light wire hook. Anyone use this Lews model? https://www.sportsmans.com/fishing-gear-supplies/fishing-rods/spinning-rods/lews-mach-speed-stick-spinning-rod/p/1447083 I was thinking the 6’7” medium light
  10. I had the same thing happen. Like kwassing said hit the power button a few times to bring it back
  11. Instead of wire I use some black upholstery thread and head cement
  12. I’ve had people yell, throw rocks in the water, threaten to call the cops (which I always say please do, I’ll wait), But the stupidest one I ever ran into was a guy who said he didn’t mind if I pass by his house but I wasn’t allowed to stop because his property lines went all the way out to the center of the lake. I hate to say it but that one I kind of stuck around and aggravated him even more just to tick him off for a laugh. I even turned my boat sideways so he can get my numbers to call the sheriffs. He threatened to throw rocks at us and when I told him I’d call the cops on him he finally calmed down.

  16. That kind of makes sense. The guys I know that I’ve been catching a lot of big bass have also been catching carp. On the lake I haven’t been catching anything I also haven’t seen any carp
