  4. Dear Lord forgive me, I was weak and fell to temptation by the evil devil bait monkey. I bought... Rapala DT 10 in Demon Rapala DT 10 in Delta Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap in Red Chrome SK KVD 2.5 in Delta Red
  5. My mind was made up to invest in some of these black plugs even before I made this thread however this week I bought 4 cranks in various colors of red lol
  6. I hope I can keep mine in the pack lol last week I had a deep diving crankbait and a swim bait hang on rock edges for a while and I'm sure I turned pale and was sweating even though I was freezing out there
  7. Seeing the responses in the what lures did you lose most thread, I am wanting to get a plug nocker. I am looking at the $12 one at cabelas. I fish in a kayak some and cast from the shore. Will this cheap style of plug nocker work for a casting from the bank fisherman?
  8. Exactly!! I think SK calls it Wicked Firetiger but the 6th sense one especially the one with those green eyes looks amazing. It's an addiction for me
  9. I saw the SK squarebill today in a black fire tiger color. I have saw the 6th sense black Magic and others. These lures are about to hook me as I can't resist them. Has anyone had any success on these color cranks? What is supposed to be the optimum time and conditions for using black crankbaits?
  10. This post has me looking around at hellgrammite lures I have perhaps half a dozen brands and am most satisfied with the devil bug I mentioned above but I just saw the tackle HD hellgramite on TW, and it looks to be a winner to me... I want to try it asap
  11. Whose call did you choose? I'm a sucker for slate calls
  12. The hooks do look the same but I cannot believe it wouldn't say Gamakatsu somewhere on the package if indeed it was. The cabelas package says made in costa Rico and the Walmart package says made in the USA. I dunno wth is going on lol After reading on Strikekings page I read where the tour grade is stated to have Gamakatsu hooks so I believe anything sold as tour grade will follow that protocol.
  13. I use the FYAO Devil Bug. I used the green pumpkin color on a ned rig jig head.
  14. Lots of zman trd's on zman Ned jigs.... I'm sorry the things I muttered bout you while snapping off Ned
  15. I bought the SK tour grade football jig in green pumpkin 1/2oz. I bought a couple at cabelas and a couple at Walmart the packaging is different between stores and the cabelas has a sticker on the pack advertising it has Gamakatsu hook. There is no mention of the hook brand on the Walmart packaging. Any ideas if all tour grade come with Gamakatsu hooks?
  16. Looks to be a lure put out by "The Producers" the gill, eye and square lip suggest one called Roscoes shiner by them... You can find them on eBay
  17. Tried a Ned rig in a creek today, no takers
  18. G is for Gong by Megabass imagine if a Heddon big bud mated with a gorilla then you get the Gong!!
  19. T for Tylenol E is for the Easy Shiner by Kietech
  20. Speaking of skipjacks back bout 10 years ago on the auction site I could not get one of those lures because 1 person I even recall their eBay name started drr or similar and that guy bought many hundreds of them. He had to have the biggest collection in the world of skipjacks
  21. Rapala fillet knife, if you kill him might as well get him ready to deep fry at same time!!! ?
  22. Time to start over... A is for the Ace-in-the-Hole prop bait by Poes
  23. I appreciate the jests, however this can be preserving of lure history and educational with older as well as new lures too. And like I said winter time can be boring as hell lol This is for you guys... E is for Erie Dearie
  24. What I fish is considered more a creek than a river. The majority of it is knee deep with holes of water waist to chest deep at best. My best smallmouth from these waters was a 20" fish. I had wade fished many hours that day and was sitting on the bank having a break and puffing on a cigar. I look mid stream and there comes a big smallie, I had a model 450 AC shiner in purple tied on and as I cast the lure about 8-10 feet ahead of the swimming fish it reacted as if it saw the lure falling through the air and the instant the lure hit the water that bass had sped across that distance and nailed that lure. I measured and released. The very next week I lost that $13 plug to a musky at the exact same place. I've caught numerous 18 and 19" smallmouth in creeks since but have not surpassed the 20" mark. Maybe this year!
  25. yep, it's winter... In alphabetical order with the lure model and then the maker let's hear some lures from A to Z. I'll be glad to get to look up some new ones. Extra points for a pic of lure lol Arbogaster by Fred Arbogast
