BBZ-1 Rat Pack ~
Good lord now you got me looking at rats to buy. I'm digging that sexy foxey Helsinki rat flavor... Yes, Sexy Rat!!

Go Barbless - Please. You'll love it.
I enjoy throwing some of the Rebel brand lures with light spinning tackle. Some of their lures are barbless and others have about enough barb for me to call them barbless anyway. My results when using them were a lot of lost fish. If I can't lip and get some fish stank on my hands I'll have to change my name so give me some big barbage!

BBZ-1 Rat Pack ~
Do rats rattle? For some unknown reason I would want to throw without the tail attached Word of warning to ya- keep your box of trap style baits apart from them, rats and traps don't mix ?

How many have mostly abandoned the Ned Rig
Awesome fish! I fish similar water and pb's of 19" and 20" for me. Creeks are great though are they not? Was you using the red eye shad in the creek or a lake? If you haven't already tried them look at the FYAO DevilBug and the Tackle HD Hellgramite. They give lots of action to the ned compared to the do nothing trd

How many have mostly abandoned the Ned Rig
A ned style with a crawdad or hellgramite plastic will be with me for life! I never had any trouble catching creek and river Smallies on 6" lizards but the ned increased the numbers and I still catch the biggest fish in the waters as before. I have probably 10 packs of trd's but can't get away from the CrawZ and hellgramite styles. I don't get to lakes often but last year when I did the deadly Nedly caught there as well. So to answer your subject post... Not I sir

What makes a wirebait unique?
@scaleface man I'd like to get into making my own spinnerbaits and buzzbaits. Can you point me good place get started? What's good and what's bad? Who do you get components from? I already cast my own lead handgun and rifle bullets and reload shells for those and shotgun. So this would be right up my alley

What makes a wirebait unique?
@JediAmoeba good post man, you told me some things I didn't know. BUT, you didn't tell me your fav spinner and buzz and why you're sweet on that lure. And dude don't tell me the easy answer because they catch fish lol and be careful not to go look at Rattlehead Spinnerbaits. Those lures have the hook dancing around metal on metal in a hollow tube putting out all kinds fine noise I bet. It's got my bait monkey purring like a Tom cat in spring anybody ordered from Rattlehead lately? Are they still in business?

What makes a wirebait unique?
Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits! What sets one manufacturer apart from another? Can anybody point out any unique known or even unproven aspects of a brand or model wirebait? For example I was listening to Baitman Baxter with Epic Eric the other night and Eric was talking about the Stanley Wedge blades that are made wedge shaped (thicker brass on one side, thin on other end), or the vibra flex wire system by Stanley with tapering wire toward the blades. If you missed that video id recommend it! So can you share any lore (truth or not) about any certain brand, model, or year of spinner or buzz?

Hook sharpening
I'd forgot about the diamond sharpeners I did use one years ago during a trip on jigging spoons and it worked great. Adding that to my need get list anybody remember the electric sharpeners? Might have been Mister Twister branded. I always wanted one those but never happened.

Hook sharpening
What is the best method or tools you use to sharpen hooks? I have a lifetimes collection of spinnerbaits and buzzbaits that need to be made great again. Besides replacing on smaller treble hooks have you found a tool and method to bring them back?

Couple Lucky Craft questions
Yes those are the cranks I was speaking of. I bought 4 or 5 of those back in the winter from Cabelas and was surprised they have no markings on them. I remember back 15 years ago seeing the Rick Clunn associated cranks bringing $15-$20 best I remember and now as I am starting to build a box of quality Japanese lures the inner closet lure historian in me wants info to go along with the lures. I don't mind paying 3 or 4 more times per lure as long as there is a unique benefit that goes along with it.

Inexpensive, universal baitcasting rod
I'd go to Walmart and get an Ugly Stik GX2 $40

Couple Lucky Craft questions
Concerning Lucky Craft Lures What is the differences between their cranks of years past compared to the cheap $7 ones now? When I read online about the old ones being higher quality, is the packaging that says Lucky Craft USA the lower quality cranks? I bought several of these recently and I am thinking they are not branded anywhere on the lure with any kind of company name or model. Does the better cranks wear the brand or model on the lure? Concerning the Sammy and Gunfish, I see they are available in different lengths. Have you tried all sizes and which do you prefer and why? I appreciate any info. I have searched online without luck

Pond Fishing Lures
Yep, same as above! A pink trick worm was it for me! As a kid growing into a teenager I was able to fish a great pond in a cattle pasture. I caught many many hundreds of bass if not thousands there and the majority was on bubble gum trick worms weightless on a zebco 33! Many years later the land owner filled the pond in and as I drive by on the highway that flat piece of ground speaks nothing of the memories it made for a kid on his own with a fishing pole

What's the chances ?
I've wondered the same. I've had musky take whopper plopper and balsa stickbaits from me when I'm targeting bass. I always thought it was the death sentence for them but you never know. Our musky here tend to fancy $15 and up lures lol. I did see a musky about 35-40" take a 2.5" balsa stickbait with 2 #8 hooks. You know he had to practically swallow it on the take. My buddy set the hook and his 6 pound line lasted less than 10 seconds. Interesting to note that while wading I found a big multi willow leaf spinner bait laying in a couple feet of water with approx 50# braid cut off with about 2" remaining. I'd bet that had been Mr. Musky at work... Mr Pike is employed there too...
- Bought with a lot of commercial electric stuff for my business
