I spent 20 years in VA Beach bouncing back and forth between Norfolk NOB and Oceana. I used to fish back bay, west neck and the ICW alot. I never got as far south as Pasquatank but I had a few buddies that fished the crap out of it. Lot of bigs in there if it's still like it was in the late 90s early 00s.

I use a dremel tool with a brass brush for removing small bits of corrosion from everything from guns to fishing lures. If the brass isn't strong enough to knock it off a steel brush will work. The good thing about a dremel tool is that you can buy attachment kits with infinite options. I use the jewelers brushes on small detail work like lures and such. After removal really the best thing you can do to combat rust is to never put away your tackle wet.

My fishing partner says that I don't catch fish on big jigs because I'm never around big fish. 😂

My boat has been stored with a cover on it outside over the winter since I am redoing my garage. My rods stayed stored in the rod box and I haven't had an issue with rotty line so far.

I recently picked up three rods from a custom rod maker who used bushido blanks and I'm not well versed on custom rods but I can say these rods are top tier and the sensitivity is night and day from my factory rods.

Good to see I'm not the only one that believes changing out the front treble for a red Gamakatsu #6 round bends on my jerkbaits does not work.

Rain has been our nemesis here in Western NC since sept. Helene really put a hurting on us as I live just above Chimney Rock NC(If you look it up you will be blown away by the devastation we suffered here) We have had two straight weeks of rain but with all the wildfires it's a necessary evil right now. I just wish I could get one sunny day so I can get my boat ready for tournament season as my first one is Apr. 17th.

Austin Neary is a glidebait master. Nobody throws big baits like he can, even Milliken brings him on his channel as a guest. His youtube channel used to be dreamcatchers fishing but I think he changed it to America's outdoor family.

I fish a fluke weightless pretty much all spring and summer. The number of follows I get is maddening. Three things happen when I start to see alot of follows. 1. Killing the bait and letting it sit right in front of the bass following will sometimes trigger a bite and if that doesn't work 2. Change colors. I fish mostly a shad color but sometimes switching to a green pumpkin or vice versa will get bites and if that doesn't work 3. Change baits altogether or have a follow up bait, Most of the time when I get follows and I can't get them to hit the bait I'm fishing no matter what I do i can throw a wacky senko back where the follow was and get a bite. Either way this lets me know there are fish in the area.

I trim my skirt to just before where the action of a trailer starts. so if it's a craw I'll trim to right in front of the where the claws attach to the body. Boot tail swimbait I'll trim it to where the body starts to get smaller going to the tail.

Our turkeys up here are fairly tame due to all the old folks putting out food for them and so on. I literally have to get out of my truck and shoo them out of the road leaving my house. Had a big gobbler mating a hen in the road the other day and wouldn't move no matter what. Once I got out of the truck and wen to shooin him and the hen jumped up and took off. lol sorry bud, didn't mean to interrupt your romantic interlude but I gotta get through.

I agree but I seriously doubt the high road has anything to do with it. They just want this behind them as fast as possible as does Martin I'm sure. Still I'd like to see the evidence just cause I'm an old man with nothing better to do than read fishing drama on the interwebs.🤷‍♂️😂

I live in the woods literally on the side of a mountain. I have no yard. If you don't have a yard it can't look unkempt.
