  1. The bronco bug is designed to wave it's claws on a slow fall. the free rig is the perfect method for it.
  2. And so the honeydo season begins. Wife wants walkways around the cars because her heels get muddy after a rain(I call it just living in the country) and she doesn't want gravel so eventually I will be laying pavers across the whole thing I'm sure.
  3. I'm retired. My previous office was an aircraft carrier and yes(because I know you're going to ask) I have fished off the back of it but only in port. They wouldn't let me underway. lol
  4. I fish my spybaits on a medium light with 6 pound test. a 2 pound bass feels like a ten on there.
  5. It used to be 13 fishing pre Rapala. Not sure about the quality of them now so I really like the Abu Garcia Pro Series rods.
  6. I have seen a few companies call it blue baby as well.
  7. that was one of the better finishes I've seen in awhile.
  8. My body says I qualify but my mind says I'm not eligible yet.
  9. Its a pretty common scam. I see it all the time. Got one just the other day from Palmetto state Armory and then they announced it was a scam. Scammers are getting more and more bold by the day.
  10. Take your wife with you. Win win!
  11. Another pretty good day at the flea market. 30 bucks total for everything. Is it bad I'm most excited about the dude wipes?😂
  12. I watched Floyd in a school yesterday catching one every cast but he couldn't upgrade because of the size he was catching they were all small non scorables. Talk about can't win for losing...
  13. I picked up some winged zoom super flukes yesterday. I'm gonna give them a whack next time out. I've heard alot about them E.G. sakamata shads so I want to see what all the hype is about.
  14. I wrap lead wire around my chad shad hook shanks when they are deeper. lol
  15. Gamakatsu 4x is the strongest hook they make.
  16. I fish my flukes weightless... kinda... I tie on a swivel and give the fluke short about 16 inch to two foot leader. Then I texas rig the fluke on a 4/0 offset worm hook. Some people use 5 some use 3 but 4 seems to be the sweet spot for me. The swivel leader will give the fluke just a little weight so it won't come to the surface and hop(although you can still make it do that if you want) I fish a herring lake so the more erratic retrieve the better. I start with a twitch twitch pause and then go from there. You can twitch 1, 2, or 3 times between pauses. I usually keep the fluke closer to the surface and fish it like a submerged walking bait. Always give the fish a second before you set the hook because it is going to hit it like a topwater. approach from the bottom and turn once it hits. You wanna give the fish time to turn and get the hook in its mouth. A fluke can also be used as a trailer on a myriad of setups. Carolina rig, on a buzzbait, texas rigged with a weight, bladed jig, spinnerbait. A fluke can be applied almost anywhere in almost any situation. I use nothing but zoom salty super flukes for my fluke fishing and I use a fluke 90% of the year.
  17. all of them. 5s, 7s, and deeps.
  18. Simple... Use a mudbug.
  19. Sperate the lake into sections. I use google earth and navionics to find the kind of structure I think they will be on during the time I will be fishing. I usually start in a creek that has what I'm looking for and treat that creek like it's the only accessible part of the lake. If that doesn't work then I fan out and move to another creek. Find yourself about 4 or 5 locations that you think will produce and fish them in order of most attractive to least attractive. Don't worry about the rest of the lake until youve exhausted your originally planned fishing spots.
  20. First largemouth I ever caught on a scrounger. Never fished it before but picked up some to try since Dustin Connell seems to absolutely whack em on it. Pulse fishing 3/8 oz. scrounger with a crush city freeloader on the back. The action on this little bait is unbelievable!
  21. The Rapala Fat Rap. This was about the only crankbait I fished growing up other than a rattletrap. I still buy every one I see. Plan on making a net display with them for the wall in the man cave.
  22. Go back to basics. Grab a roostertail and catch everything. I went through a slump where I didn't catch a fish for two years. I asked my dad(He's 72) what I could possibly be doing wrong and he looked at me and said "Have you tried a roostertail? They catch everything." Now my suggestion however is to tie on a 3/8 roostertail. In my opinion that is the absolute best size for catching big and small bass.
  23. Buzzbait skirtless with a fluke on it. Work it over points where they are feeding on herring(if applicable).
  24. This is why I drag a Craw on the carolina rig. Keeps me from getting super "hoppy" with the setup.
