  1. Had one and never caught squat on the eel.
  2. It's the only addiction I have and when I apologized to my wife today for buying another armload of tackle at the flea market and admitting I'm an addict, she looked at me and said "You're not drinking and your not spending money on strippers. I'm ok with that." she's an enabler...
  3. They are pretty comparable to each other but the max has a 360 swivel seat on it.

Get a Medium to medium light spinning rod, 2500-3000 series reel with 8 pound test of your favorite line. Cast your bait out and reel up the slack when you reach your desired depth. Once you start to feel the weight of the lure give it a quick small vertical pop of the rod tip. This will start your blade spinning as sometimes it can get stuck under the body of the lure. Reel at a slow speed just fast enough you can feel the blade thumping. Enjoy. You can also hold the rod tip high if you are trying to keep the roostertail close to the surface. I do this for schooling bass all the time. You can also give the rod tip small pops along the way to entice the more finnicky fish to bite but most of the time I haven't ever needed any help getting a fish to hit a roostertail. I've never used a swivel and feel like I've never needed one.
  5. Another good day at the flea market. The spinnerbait box is actually from Bass Pro. Needed a new one since I didn't have any room for all my new buzzbaits. Guy had a whole 3700 box full of buzzbaits. I took every one he had for 2 bucks apiece. Found Nessies in all sizes in pearl for 6 bucks apiece. Bronco bugs I had to pay 5 apiece for but still cheaper than the store. Boo-Yah Pad Crasher for 5 bucks and some baits from a local guy(Line Hound Tackle Co.) just starting out for 5 bucks(I try to buy at least a pack of something from the local guys to support them)
  6. To cure that use a small 8-12 inch leader of your favorite mono or flourocarbon. It will keep the limp braid from allowing the bait to whip around at the end of the cast and catch the trebles.
  7. I also use them weightless to drag across the top of vegetation like pads and grass mats. They make a great frog alternative.
  8. Just replaced all three of my trailer tires 3 months ago(I have a single axle trailer). Got a great 3 tire deal from amazon.
  9. I used to troll during kayak tournaments to find fish on bodies of water I wasn't familiar with. Once I got a bite I would stop and dissect the area then move on, until they found I was trolling and said I couldn't. Still don't understand why. I'm literally pedaling down a bank at a controlled depth. Not sure where the unethical aspect of that is. Needless to say I don't fish with those guys anymore.
  10. The shallower the better. I'm a bank beater from way back. Deepest I usually go is 16-20 feet but I try to stay in 10 feet or less if I can help it.
  11. I don't put much stock in buzzbait preference. To me a buzzbait is a buzzbait is a buzzbait. That being said I believe the trailer is far more important and I only use two. Either a zoom super fluke or a Bizzbaits pad daddy. I do not use skirts on my buzzbaits.
  12. I trailer my titan 13.5. It's too big to try and horse into the bed of a truck. I look like a monkey having his way with a football trying to go that route.
  13. 3 lures I used growing up. A beetle spin, a roostertail, and a Blakemore Roadrunner. I found some road runners a while back that were striper sized(Redfish love them). I've caught a few bass on them(Underspins). Hawg Farmer makes a real good one.
  14. I used to use a Revo Rocket. The 10.1:1 was fast enough I never had a fish outrun my reel. The only problem was it didn't have enough low end to horse a fish out of lilypads and slop. I switched to Revo Premiere. 8.1:1 gives me enough speed to keep up but still has enough low end to horse a fish out of grass on braid.

Fujita dropped 100 pounds in 3 days. This kid must be part fish.
  16. I wear gloves on the kayak, I don't on the boat. I don't know why I just don't. My fishing gloves get funky like that and no amount of washing them will remove it. When that happens I soak them in oxyclean as well with a little tiny splash of fabric softener for 24 hours and they are good as new.
  17. Missile Baits Ike Mini flip is my favorite small jig.
  18. Welp, after day 2 I'm sitting on a WHOPPING 720 points with only one angler in the top 50. LOL I think this may be the worst tournament performance ever for me. 🤦‍♂️
  19. Sufix Promix braid
  20. I have been hunting for a goofy buzzbait that they made in the 90s it's the Mann's agitator. Has a styrofoam float for the blade. I had one when I was a kid and fished it everywhere because it didn't sink. I never caught much on it but I'd like to have one just because I was so fond of it as a kid. I saw one at the flea market months ago but the package was pretty much destroyed and it looked like mice had chewed the float.
  21. Flouro for texas rigs on my rods
  22. Exactly! me and "The Dude"
  23. I refer to baits as dude all the time. "I'm gonna toss that dude up under that dock and catch me a 6 pounder!"
