  1. I try to wait until I have about $50 worth of stuff to order before buying anything. Just grabbing random ooh shiny items to get to free shipping and then remembering all the stuff I forgot to order gets too expensive, lol.
  2. Slower rod and quality, sharp hooks.
  3. I have those on some rods, they're fine.
  4. It's a mixed bag, like anything else. You can use a faster rod because you don't have treble hooks. Singles don't have the same easy hooking ability of trebles, but you can get solid hook sets. They also give you the ability to work the bait in areas where you couldn't with trebles, so you get access to some new fish.
  5. Thankfully they offer a size 17 now. Size 18-20 would have been too much for what I am doing but 17 seems fine. What's the other one you mentioned? If it doesn't need an insert, I would like to research that one too.
  6. I have the Browser 7'10" XH and love it, despite the tacky (fashion not texture) grips. A pleasant surprise at the price points.
  7. Yeah, we have a few dropoff points (not enough). I "collect" other people's fishing line when I'm kayaking so I end up with piles of it every couple months. Have to make a special trip to drop it off.
  8. Inline singles let you use stouter gear as you don't run the risk of pulling them out like a treble. Additionally, a bait with inline singles is more resistant to fouling when it comes to contact with vegetation. I can work a hard jerkbait with inline singles through sparse weeds successfully which was mostly impossible with trebles. The inline singles also don't get caught in everything in the boat. I hate trebles, lol. ?
  9. Yet another reason to keep the knot off the spool!
  10. LoL, and I'm not sure what you're asking. Have a picture? ?
  11. Attaching the hook to the wireframe? Assuming you're asking about ones that are poured around a wire? Or ones that have the wire added after pouring?
  12. The Webform on mobile was a little difficult, had to manually change the screen orientation to get the Submit button to appear after completing Captcha.
  13. Oh, good, we got caught up all at once then, lol. We' hearing that more is coming this week.
  14. We got a bit last night up here in Michigan.
  15. That's an excellent vote for the PULS! Amusingly, I use the Pac Bay Minima because I find it to be very comfortable for the way I hold a rod. It was my favorite reel seat out of all my production rods so I was adding it to my custom rods. The weight savings were just a nice bonus. I don't care for the SK2 or ACS, but the Minima fits my hand really well. Everyone is different.
  16. When I tie a fresh leader, the knot is an inch or two forward of the reel, never on the spool.
  17. You are correct about not having too many rods, lol. Well you know, with time and money being limited resources, I figure I should at least ask around before jumping in. ?
  18. Yeah, the replacement aspect also makes me leery, it looks like a huge PITA. I've got my preferred reel seat in the Pac Bay Minima, but I'm feeling like experimenting this time with more of a technique optimized seat since this rod will only be pitching and punching.
  19. I generally don't have to retie the leader on the water unless I neglected to do it before launch. And each leader (6ish feet) usually lasts me a trip or two.
  20. I have nothing but good things to say about the Atled series rods, and it looks like they are 15% off for Presidents Day. https://cajunrods.com/collections/atled™-inshore-saltwater-rods
  21. Fuego is solid, especially when you find it on Amazon for around $80. CC80 is fine, I wouldn't punch with it, but general use is fine.
  22. Anyone used one of the Fuji Palm Support reel seats? They look kind of neat and considering on the 7'10" pitching/punching rod I'm collecting parts for. If anyone has any recommendations for a great seat for this application and all day punching in general, I'm open to researching those too.
  23. Are you fishing the Trig differently than the jig? If so, how?
  24. Would you give a detailed description of a typical cast and retrieve so we can maybe figure out what part of the puzzle you're missing?
