  1. I was looking at the spinning...
  2. I just searched Patriarch reel reviews. I think the older ones were fine but I am seeing a lot of negative reviews on the new ones.
  3. I've read very few positive reviews of that reel .
  4. No Scheels here either.
  5. I know, I'm pretty jealous. There's no equivalent up here.
  6. They have some cool patterns, thanks for sharing!
  7. We don't have that chain either.
  8. I like a 7'5"ish Heavy Moderate for fishing deep emergent weeds with the 10-15' stalks on them.
  9. That's going to get some pontoons really cooking when they can drop the excess weight of needing dual 300's.
  10. Can't take credit for the idea, learned from @smalljaw67's YouTube channel. Fantastic resource. My current favorite heads are these: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/VMC_Ike_Approved_Wacky_Weedless_Jig_Head_4pk/descpage-VMCWWJ.html?from=gshop&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyJOBBhDCARIsAJG2h5dIjp4xc_dZ1qvi3cJU_fsmZtiM9k7KtnFXrVJJCzlLAmJugiG1FJ0aAvVFEALw_wcB But I bought a bunch of these to experiment with this year: https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Gamakatsu_G-Finesse_Series_Wacky_Jig_Head_3pk/descpage-SJW.html?from=gshop&gclid=Cj0KCQiAyJOBBhDCARIsAJG2h5feR6lUNGnYjYmoGjje6klYaQG35NLRzuGAT0Gk0rrWqjH29TbrBT4aAtM3EALw_wcB
  11. Are you actually going to flip? Or are you going to pitch?
  12. Some of it is just marketing, so that's neither here nor there as to whether it's true. However, I think a rod can have attributes that lend themselves to doing a specific technique better than a general purpose rod. Could be as simple as shifting the point of balance in the rod as far to the butt as possible because the technique is a tip up one or as complex as an oddball blank taper to maximize something. Look at walleye rods for instance and you'll see quite different rod properties for many of them because they are for certain techniques that aren't common in bass fishing.
  13. If you're into the DIY life, my favorite finesse jigs are made by adding a skirt to a weighted wacky hook and using a TRD craw as the trailer. This jig is pretty mangled, it was after an amazing day on the water which included upgrading my PB twice, lol.
  14. Thankfully she asked my tournament partner what kind of "reel thingy" I would like. LoL
  15. Got a surprise present today from the wife. Hopefully this doesn't make me hate my cheaper reels and cause cascading upgrades.
  16. I just put the line spool in a cargo pants pocket, lol.
  17. They had those on the same super sale around Christmas too, looks like the price isn't low enough yet.
  18. Rage for action, Berkley Fight'n Bug for subtle.
  19. @Choporoz I'm also a thinner hook guy in the kayak. I don't have the same amount of force available to me as when I'm standing in a boat, so thinner hooks are the way to go for me.
  20. Really? That's sad to hear about Mustad. I didn't know Eagle Claw was getting better either, been avoiding their products for so many years now. Very interesting.
  21. I must have good luck. When I call, someone answers, they return my emails, and the longest I had to wait was 4 weeks for a backorder item.
  22. I throw 1/8 weights with a Rage Craw on MH all the time and am fine. You'll be fine too as long as you aren't trying to throw something featherlight.
  23. Did you just "um, actually" him? LoL .6 repeating is The Neighbor of the Beast. Not sure why that's so funny to me, but it is. Excellent word play!
