  1. Obviously not a jig head so the canvas will be smaller but I was looking at attempting stuff like this:
  2. Ordered a pair of blanks on the 29th, got the shipping notification today and delivery is estimated for the 17th. Not amazing speed but it sounds like NFC is improving based on some of the awful things I've read regarding their shipping timelines.
  3. Amazing to me that you have ice and 45min south of you doesn't. At least other than my rod guides, lol. Rage Bugs and Rage Craw/Lobster are all stars in my boat. Honorable mention to the Rage Toad as well (as long as you don't buy them from Walmart).
  4. Oops, looks like I am behind the times!
  5. Never wanted a canoe... Until now.
  6. My tracking number says my gift will get to it's destination on Monday. We'll see how true that actually is, but might need to fire up that Fishmas Received thread sooner rather than later. ?
  7. They don't stop being good when the water warms up either. ?
  8. Powder coating isn't good for fine details though, right?
  9. Yeah, I can print a mold for plastics, but that 650+ degree lead temp is a bit much for the resin. Worst case is I print masters and make a Vac40 metal mold.
  10. Ok, so Saturday.... I'll pass on that noise. But Sunday looks fine.
  11. I mean, clearly, if you can accomplish this while fishing then there is no better solution available.
  12. That'll be fun to deal with on the kayak this weekend... I'll have to check if the wind is still supposed to be crazy....
  13. So it's not just me. I got one but rarely use it anymore because it's too much work to keep clean compared to other baits.
  14. Looks like a 2022 Meet Up on Sneaky Lake is in the works, lol.
  15. What direction are you pulling the guide?
  16. Well maybe there will be a 3d printer resin that can handle lead by the time I get to that. At least designing and testing custom heads will eat up some time.
  17. Oh my... That would be a terrible winter hobby for me!
  18. I've been using straight FC for drop shot but I'm going to experiment with FC leader this year. I'm not a great drop shot angler so my opinion doesn't count for much here.
  19. Rod building is this winter's new fishing hobby, next year is soft plastics, maybe lead will be the year after, lol.
  20. @kayaking_kev Did you happen to weigh the full handle?
  21. If I poured my own lead I'm sure I would be right around there, lol.
  22. Couple like 40ish? I'm in Michigan, cabin fever is a thing, lol.
  23. I met the guy that netted that fish. He was very excited to share the story. ?
