Thats basicaly two way to do it as far as I know, And also I never catch any on it as well, I think it because our condition not match it. There is few reasons that make anyone go BFS: 1- If you you are not fan of spinning reels(like myself). 2-BFS casting in time, (make more cast vs using spinning). 3-accuracy(BFS casting accurate vs spinning). 4-thats something new and look cool :).
