  1. I have only one dobyns champion and that’s 908, I feel the power is accurate for rating.
  2. Thanks for the tips and jig head buying guide, and very nice catches, I really enjoy watching them all. You know I catch bass on 1/32 trout magnet jig head as well.

I have two 3600 in my backpack. The rest stay in original packing at home. also have one 3700 for inside car. The pictures were bigger somehow, here another pictures.
  4. Since you are from Huston I recommend XH 7’6”. Take a look at E6X g-Loomis as well, little more expensive, but it is very good rod.
  5. Okay here I am with the question, Most of you know some angler like Glenn, Believe to set the drag to maximum then lower it if needed. some others like randy believe to free spool and control the drag with thumb. We all know in some techniques like frog fishing you must set the drag to maximum and not to touch it. But what about Lures with Treble hooks like crank baits, jerk baits or any other Treble hooked Lures? What is you drag setting for them? next question, what about single hooks like weighted Texas rig or 6/0 EWG swim baits. I think it is worth Ed for someone like Glenn to make a video in depth about setting drag in different applications.
  6. G. Loomis E6X Casting Rod 7' MH 843C MBR
  7. My suggestion for you is not about brand, it is about power, you missing 1 H or XH rod in your lineup. my main line up is like that. 0- ML Casting 1- M spinning 2- M casting 3- MH casting X 2 4- H casting X 2 5-XH casting 6-XXH Casting 7-XXXH casting as you can see covering everything. Because sooner or later you want to tray frog and you want to try S waver, and you have no 7’6” heavy or extra heavy there in your line up. So my vote is for 7’5” Zodias.
  8. I can say all of my reels are JDM, Also couple of my travel rods, they were free shipping with fedex and arrived very fast.
  9. So glad you got some bite, Remember you need to spend more time in Castaic , and if you learn it, it is a fun lake for any day fishing trip.
  10. Do yourself a favor and use FC100, It is flouro and invisible and. stretches like mono, Best of both worlds. I have 16lb, 20lb and 30lb with me all the time with FG knot.
  11. My lightest power baitcasting combo is Edge rod UL 7'6" slow action, Lure weight 1/16 with Aldebaran MGL size 30, I spool that with 10lb test J braid and 4lb INVIZX. Remember it is not BFS set up. I wonder how light anyone would go with their bait casting combos?
  12. I use improved clinch knot for all my hook and lure ties that I don't want to loose, make sure you do it correctly and add couple wraps and it shouldn't slip, also cut your tag ends a hair longer and see the result.
  13. being here in SoCal 3/8 is normal and I order them 100 tungstan of them so there is no choice for me there. , if it is heavy, Ill go weightless. Thats how I made it simple and it is working for me.
  14. G. Loomis E6X Casting Rod 7'1" MH 853C JWR or Shimano Curado Casting Rod (Split Grip Or Full Cork) 7' MH
  15. Man those fish only good for picture, they are drop shot catches, Somehow for me catching fish for me is more enjoyable when I catch them with my favorite combo or techniques. We all know drop shooting and wacky rigging and Texas rigging will get you bite. but by all means man, if you want to catch the same fishes in that picture, ill be your guide and your host.
  16. right now I am using it for glide baits(river2Sea 168), but being here in SoCal, soon ill start punching 1 and 1.5oz matts all lakes over here.
  17. I don't have GLX rod, but 905 conquest I have, if you can pay for conquest, don't think twice and get it, additional X wrap on blank and feather weight is worth it. I love my conquests and I fish them all day without any hand fatigue.
  18. Here it is, it was $41.99
  19. yesterday I order Okuma 8' 2pcs, I think it was 49.99.
