  1. you need a 7'6" XH for bigger swimbaits and maybe frogs?
  2. Ive try that few times and I had no success. I had birds nest and in so many case I needed to respool. I learned something though. your rod need to be short especially if you are bank angler like me, because the first thing you'll face is your rod tip rub on ground , deck or anything you are on. second just try to do it slow and short casts with your lure for start and just do the way you throwing stone to jump on water. last thing is about the lure, some lures can help you to get to the point faster, frogs and wacky rig stickbait would be my choice to start. I cant say I gave up, just its not the time for me yet but I wish you the best and success.

  12. I have conquest 842c and 842s for dropshotting. and they are perfect, I use spinning for light weight and use bait casting for powershotting.
  13. Did you check Shimano Curado rods? I have one for my frogging and I am happy with it.

Update: As I mention my reel was in Penn west cost service center, They opened my baby up and it was very simple Grease on bridge on main shaft missing, or better to say it was dry, So they greased and lube everything and close it back. It is very smooth and working very nice. We end up spooling 2400 yards of 130lb test solid diamond braid and 400 yards of 130lb test Suffix highviz mono. ill update about the rod also.

Yes I do stay at the beach, I bought few at the pier but the issue in pier is they will wrapped around and cut off, specially the bigger ones, Iland 4 feet shark from pier and load it up by crab net and some rope, it was heavyyyy XXXXXH, I almost wanted to let go and I am big guy. so I decided to go to the beach so I can pull them all the way. I have ordered RC boat already to send the chunk out 300 yards with no problem.
  17. Guys got a bad news, Today in shop when spooling, The reel stop rotating, it is lock. we dont know the issue, I am open to suggestions.
  18. actually June first to seventh going to be chasing them, with another set ups casting from beach, Till my boat deliver so we can send the bait by boat with this combo.
  19. Thats the plan, but it is long way to go, I just found out the rod I have doesn't fit the 14/0 , Because the reel seat need to be very big.

  22. I got 130lb test Braid 3000 yards with 130lb test mono topshot, waiting for delivery tomorrow so I can spool it.
  23. Guys I just want to share brand my new Penn Senator 14/0 reel for my monster shark fishing. I am very exited about this beast. Going to make more updates as I spool it and pair it with rod.
