  1. Well hello fellow DC user, First I upload two photos, This is my latest Antares 21 DC and this one is never been used yet. See the factory setup, Same thing for my last Antares 21 Dc and when I got that one I spool with tatsu 10lb and I start casting with original setting. Usually I am not using thumb at all first few cast and ill try to see how far I am getting distance, In case if I need more ill start to gow down from Max one by one till I get to that sweet spot. on my 2018 and 2016 Ive had them on X mode and I follow my steps, From max every few cast lower the break till I found that spot that you getting most of the distance with the lure and condition you fishing in(wind direction and etc...), So in my Idea you shouldn't be hurry and cut the break off all the way Ada X mode and start casting. My best casting distance was LV500 with 18 MD with braided line on X mode, It is look like you need to match everything, line, lure and wind condition.
  2. 6'6" Shimano is my favorite for skipping, specially that I am bank fishing. And shorter rod help me to dont have any incident and loose my tip top.
  3. I do double fluke rug with it most of the times.

I would for sure do weighted Texas rig with 3/8oz and peg. also I would do weightless Texas rig as well. Then you might think I am crazy but I would use my LV500 and burn it just upper the submerged grass. Always not bed to try buzz bait or spinner or frog with ball bearings in early morning or about sunset. Hey I am through fisherman and I would try all this and see which one will get me bites. Good Luck
  5. St. Croix Legend Trek, Send you a pm.
  6. I dont know your rods also, But believe it or not I am using 8' XH curado for my frogging, It might be look crazy but being in SoCal and the lakes I visit it helps the casting distance and pulling the bass out with all if that salad. Sometimes you need to pull 5lb grass with and 3lber bass. The line is 65lb Maxquatro and not failing so the rod I have.
  7. I just smoke cigars when I am overnight fishing with friends, If alone or with my son ill never smoke, My cigar is el ray delmundo.
  8. Since I start with Metonym Dc,I start to get Dc reels always, Honestly two of my large Swimbait (not swimsuit ?). reels are not DC. Couple month ago I got a 13 fishing reel for saltwater and to be honest with you even if it is not high end Shimano DC reel but I am really happy when I am using it, Lets not to forget that I am using 1Oz plus plug and lure for ocean, So I dont have experience with lighter lures Lin 11/4oz like I have with my bass fishing reels. So try to find out what application and how you going to use it and after that decide. In my case I am done with my fishing tackle and unless I loose them or break them I dont need to buy anything anymore and I am arm to the teeth with DC reels to be specific I have metanium DC and SLX DC and curado DC as well. But four Antares DC. So it will be all about you and what make sense for your lifestyle.
  9. I am 10% spinning and 90% bait casting, I suggest you try it and you'll be happy of the choice(after you learn to have minimum backlash).
  10. When I was in kayaking I learned everything was about if the kayak stable enough to stand on, So it was big plus if they are more stable to stand on, What I understood is this one do that job the best by eliminating the rest of property of a kayak can have, It reminds me of a joke that said; you have good job good income good car good food good trips with friends drinking and happy and fishing anytime you want BUT you dont have a wife, So you going to marry now you have wife but you lost everything else(joke ?)
  11. I am sure of it, but what I meant for someone not professional like me that I am not using them a lot, it will not come to the time need to send them to service, see I have abs Garcias in $300 range and penn as well and I sent them all to service every year. But my shimanos not. I have a metanuim DC 15 which is my first high end reel I got it by year 2017 and for 1 year it was my only combo it means about 200 days on water with it all day and the only thing I did oil it and brush it in home. and so on with my other high end reels. yeah I already explain, I think it was my bad the way I try to say it at first.
  12. I dont think it is that important. But I love them. but I can tell you for sure I never need to service them.
  13. Yes it is important, just dont need the sensivity that much ? anyways my 905 conquest can be the frog rod in next life, But the curado will do the job for now. about finishing what I started, I have one more in line up to get and thats 903 :). I have anteras 21 here already just need budget to get the 903. I am totally agree with you, Just some people like me are brand freaks. I really tried most of the things and I end up to choose conquest. to be honest with you my other choice was NRX at the time but when I study more, I learned Concuests are NRX with additional spiral wraps which adding the feeling of strength to your rod specially for heavier fish. I had the experience of spiral wrap from Shimano shaula an ultra high end travel rod. So once I see that addition to conquest I made my choice. I am almost done with what I need as bank fisherman, Just need. to get my 903 and I am done for good for my life.

    welcome to Bassresource
  15. If I face some water like that, Ill go with anything make noise and vibration, Since most likely the visual is out of equation.
  16. I did go Wirth high end gloomis conquest rods and I am happy with my choice everyday, going to fishing tomorrow and thats what I have ready. as you can see, except my frog rod, the rest are conquest.

    Oh Japanese ....
  18. Sorry For Your Loss.
  19. Sorry if it reminds you of bad days, same thing happened to me in this page but they are just memes.
  20. That happened to me once, I put that bass in another live well alone by himself and he back upright after 20 min and at the end of the day I released it for good and he was kicking.
  21. Sounds good, But did you ever try Excense? Not only me but everyone said expense is Stella , only better color and cheaper. I have expense for few years now and it is working like first day, very smooth. just take look at it and read about it as well, Specially 3000 size.
  22. You can get a penn MH 7' rod, So you'll have match combo and a rod can throw almost everything. PENN Wrath 7 ft Spinning Rod search in net and you'll find it.
  23. Thats it, all you need to know. Just make sure to pair it with 200 or even 300 size reel with good drag.
