Weirdest thing for us is we don't have alot of the "typical" symptoms...so far at least. We do have fatigue...but otherwise we have sinus pain and draining. Very little cough, no fever, no sore throat. We have both been working thinking we had sinus infections since we both have allergies and are prone to them in spring. Only reason she got tested was she lost her taste yesterday...when she tested positive they suggested I get tested and bingo.

Oh I'm definitely not. I'm obviously hopeful and fairly confident we will be fine but I'm aware of how bad it can get for seemingly no reason.

Never know what to expect...my bosses wife had it and she has asthma. Wasn't doing to bad but they decided to do a breathing treatment to help her recover faster...she had an allergic reaction to the medication they used and ended up on a vent for a day. He said if they would have left her alone she would have been fine in a few days. Another guy I know got it early on...like April or May last year. They had an outbreak at work. He had influenza like a month prior and said it was 10 times worse then the covid. happened with my sister to. Couple teachers she works with had it but when they tested her she came back negative. A month or so down the line she got the anti body test for some reason and the doc says when did you have covid?

My girlfriend and I tested positive today so we will see how it goes. Aren't really sure where we got the exposure. Any of you guys been through it?

I get it I used to feel that way about a jig...then one day jigs just clicked for me

More effective in what way? I wouldn't say a jig gets more bite than a Texas rig but in my experience it catches larger fish on average.

Just watched a video last night in which Mike Iaconelli claimed a skirted jig is the best lure ever based on its versatility and ability to be fished all year under all conditions. While I can't argue with his points...in fact he's probably right...I'd say the plastic worm and spinnerbait are up there. What say you?

Depending on brand green pumpkin can range from green to brown. So my favorite worm colors are brown and purple. I will 2nd @Mobasser...the phenom worms are fantastic...particularly in motor oil.

Honestly I'd say the longest I've ever gone that wasn't my choice was probably a month or so...that was 3 years ago after I got burned at work.

Everything mentioned above pretty much covers it. So on that note ill give an example. Last night myself and a buddy fished a small pond and he smartly positioned himself to cast into the corner the wind had been piling into while I fished other areas. He caught 7....I caught 1.

I've always heard that a tongue hooked bass is a dead bass. But from my own practical experience I know this isn't always true. Case in point: I caught a 3lb bass on a popper a few summers back and the back hook was in the tongue. It bled but I got it unhooked and back in quickly. A week or so later I caught the same bass on a wacky rig and it was healthy.

My buddy lives in Indiana and when he came to visit a few months ago he brought Yuengling. I was impressed.

So last year I asked what water temp everybody throws a swim jig and most guys replied warm water summer months. Well in the past week I've caught 4 or 5 nice bass on a swim jig in sub 50 water. This is not an isolated deal either as I had the same exact result last spring and fall. Anybody else have luck in cold water with a swim jig?

Caught one today that looked very comparable and she weighed 3 1\2 on the dot...so that's my guess

Its not bad. Where I live the county does a pretty good job of managing the ponds plus there isn't a ton of fishing pressure...especially for bass...so I caught 4 largemouth over 6lbs last year. Most everyone around here go west into south Dakota for perch and walleye and leave the local fish alone...I'm fine with it!

We are lucky where I live that we have alot of different species. I've seen a 70lb flathead caught just down the road from me and the south Dakota state record blue was caught 30 minutes south of me. I have 2 buddies that caught 2lb crappies last year out of a private pond in town. I've caught a walleye between 8 and 9lbs in the local river and ive caught several bass in the past 10 years in the 8lb range. Plus my local ponds get flooded often by said local river so they now have white bass,northern and small mouth.Then we have the Iowa great lakes area where my parents live you can catch yellow perch,walleye,bluegills,pumpkin seed,white bass,yellow bass,crappie,large and small mouth, bullheads,channel cats,pike and muskie. Pretty fortunate.

This is what I think of. Lets say your in a shallow cove or pocket to me the gut is the deep part...usually an old drain or creek run in.

Yeah jigs are a good one to. I got some early on never got a bite and lost most of them so never really tried it again. Then several years ago after reading over and over about there ability to get bites in tough conditions picked one up again. Caught an 8lb largemouth that day and since then they have become one of my favorites.

Years back I found falcon bucoo micro guide rods on clearance for $27 bucks each. I bought 5.

So I've found in life sometimes a second chance is just the thing to find the redeeming qualities in something you missed the first time. Some of my favorite music and movies are ones that maybe I didn't really "get it" the first time but after another try or two I've grown to love. Baits are no different in my opinion. Two stand out for me. First is the Ned rig. I had some success when I first got it but that tapered off...my fault not the baits...and I wrote it off. Then last summer after extensive research I broke it back out and now its a staple for me when bites are tough to cone by. Second for me is the swim jig. I bought some, threw them a little and put them in a box for a while. My thinking was I already have spinnerbaits and chatterbaits so these are pointless. Man was I wrong. One day came when I was in clear cold water and I wanted a moving bait but felt the spinner and chatter were both to intrusive for the conditions. So I tied on a swimjig with a big grub for a trailer and went to smashing em. I've been throwing them in all kinds of conditions since and I'm amazed by the reliability and versatility I get with a swim jig. Simply put they just get bit. Now days I use them more then bladed jigs and honestly maybe even more then my beloved spinnerbaits. So what baits have you changed your mind on that you initially wrote off?
