  1. Well I did not find any panfish to fry up...did manage 4 bass between 1.5 and 4 lbs
  2. Ummm...I respectfully disagree! They aren't bad but they are not my first choice.
  3. Nice! I'm a D bomb fan.
  4. Not fast enough to do it illegally its a strange job for sure...the operations stuff takes years to learn and master
  5. Well its a little more complex then that but in layman's terms yes I'm a moonshiner
  6. You know there is no substitute....the maxscent flat worm is the greatest invention since oxygen...and therefore it is now the only bait that can catch smallmouth.
  7. Not something I do all that often anymore...used to do it all the time. I spend almost all my open water time chasing bass...which I will also do tomorrow ..but I'm gonna spend some time trying to catch my lunch. The gills and crappies have moved up so I'm hoping for a few to fry up. Who out there goes meat fishing often?
  8. I'm a Plant technician 3 for POET biorefining at a plant about 6 miles from my house. POET is the biggest ethanol and ethanol co products producer in the United States. I'm mainly involved in the production of products and cleaning of plant equipment(operations side)...I also do some maintenance and I'm the plants lead contact on water chemistry.
  9. The fish don't get on bed just because they are "supposed to" because that's what they did the past 3 years. The two things that draw them up to spawn are length of day and water temp. The weather for you sounds like what I've been experiencing and my temps are in the mid 50s...still in prespawn. I caught 4 bass yesterday between 2.5-3lbs. 1 on a black blue senko 3 on a spinner bait...also missed one on a senko and my buddy lost 1 on a spinnerbait. With your water clarity and temps I'd throw a moving bait...either spinner or chatter.
  10. Stupid trd will catch anything. Tell ya what...today I caught a pretty big crappie...around 13 inches. On what you ask? A 1/2oz booyah double Colorado spinnerbait. That's an ambitious pan fish.
  11. Spinnerbait and flipping jig or Texas rig.
  12. I'm trying to be much more responsible the past several years...using sun protection clothing or sunblock. Now if I get a bad sunburn I just fell like a dumb@$%.
  13. Well it turned out to be nicer today than I thought...went out for 3 hours with my buddy. He caught 8-10 bluegills and a nice crappie...I caught 4 bass in the 2.5-3lb range a 4lb northern and a 13 inch crappie on a spinnerbait.
  14. Old forester 100 tonight
  15. No kidding...the wind chill here is 34!
  16. Hope so. I've had several people thanking me for this...I just did what I hope everyone would do.
  17. I was afraid of getting checked by the dnr for a license. I dont think its very responsible to be in any public place when you have covid.
  18. So I've been on lock down since the end of the week last week for Covid. During that time we had lots of 60s and 70s ...mostly sunny warm days. Today is my last day of quarantine and of course I'm wanting to get out tomorrow...the weather today is like 49 and rainy. Tomorrow looks only slightly better. This spring has sucked. Rant over.
  19. So much of it is attitude...what I've referred to as the ability to grind. Not everybody has this in them. I'm confident in my ability enough at this point that I feel like even in poor conditions I can get a bite or two. Just gotta stick to it.
  20. Junebug is definitely purple..it is also one of the best soft plastic colors out there. If I'm not throwing green pumpkin I'm throwing June bug.
  21. Haven't been out for a while but it was Jig Trick worm Swim jig
  22. What are your favorites?
  23. So this year has been a letdown for size for me. By this time last year I had already caught a 6 and a 7...my best so far this year is 4 1/4. Anybody else struggling to find those bigger fish?
  24. What happened? You answered that in your title...you got skunked! In all seriousness sometimes you just get a but kicking. I will say that if you think bass are on or in the process of getting on beds I would throw a weightless senko or fluke around
  25. This is it...I think the lines affect on the lure far outweighs the lines visibility.
