General life expectancy of spooled line?
Straight up mono I replace at least 1 or 2 times a year. Copolymer is 1 time a year sometimes I can get two out of it. Amazing what a little line conditioner and keeping your line out of sunlight can do for the fishability and longevity. I just changed my frog braid out for the 1st time in 3 or so years..honestly it still looked ok. I pulled it off and stuck it in my skirt making bag so I can tie my skirts on my jigs.

Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke ~ Know the Signs
I don't like to tell my buddies what to do...we are after all grown men. But I've got a buddy going to the lake house this weekend and its gonna be 102. I told him to be careful and he's a smart guy that knows his limits but a pontoon and a cooler full of beer at those temps can get dangerous if you start having to much fun.

Sight fishing
I fished a bed fish a few weeks back...knew right away it would eat by the way it reacted to the bait from the first flip. Only fished it a few minutes and got him. The female was there and worked her several minutes but she wasn't into it. Lots of good info above...I agree people waste a lot of time on bed fish. I rarely go over 10 minutes if that.

Buzz Baits : Toad vs. Skirt ?
I'm a skirt guy 100% of the time. I tie my skirts on with braid so they will outlive the rest of the bait. I haven't really had problems with fish committing to the bait so I haven't seen the need for a piece of plastic for them to hold onto longer...if that's even really a thing. Sure I get fish that miss the bait...happens with all top waters or even moving baits in general. That's why I have a follow up...fluke senko or wacky finesse worm.

Doesnt anyone use rhe old fashion proven texas rig worms
I still use the boring old Texas rig worm often...especially in warm water. Trick worms, senkos, roboworms, bottom hoppers, power worms and several others. Gonna mess around with some zoom mag 2s this summer..never thrown worms that big. Speaking of old and proven I rigged up a Mr twister phenom today...very good underrated worm.

Keith Carson and John Cox Video
I watched it last night and enjoyed it very much. Cox is also one of my favorites...his style fits mine.

weeks of rain, now what?
We have had some rain but considering we have been in a serious drought the past year it is not adding up to anything helpful for our water levels. My local is the lowest I've seen it in over 10 years I'd guess. Alot of the cover is out of the water. That said almost every piece of cover has fish on it because there isn't much available. Also I've been catching scattered fish on random stretches of bank with top water or moving baits.

Cottonwood seeds
Living along a river valley in Northwest Iowa means cottonwood trees and lots of them. Fishing this time of year when they are doing there thing can be an exercise in futility.

If you had a time machine that could let you fish anywhere on earth at any time in history, when/where would you go?
Go back to my childhood..late 80s threw 90s...and spend more time fishing with my grandpa when he was younger and healthier. We had a fishing trip planned a few years back but had to cancel because he needed surgery and just wasn't strong enough to do it. That was likely our last shot as he is now 90 and was just diagnosed with lung cancer. I know we all deal with this but it doesn't make it suck any less.

Fishing Alone
I'm primarily a bank fisherman and normally fish alone. I have one bass fishing buddy I always enjoy fishing with him but we only get out a handful of times a year. The other two fishing buddies I have dont bass fish..1 is a bank buddy 1 is a boat\ice fishing buddy...we normally target pan fish with occasional trips for catfish or walleye. I enjoy fishing with those guys to but pan fishing is much more laid back and less competitive then bass fishing so that probably contributes.

Chris zaldain weedless wacky hooks...
So heres the deal..trokar is made by Eagle Claw and it is there premium line of hooks. The link that @Bluebasser86 left is the trokar version just to give you a reference as to what they look like since its hard to find the actual Zaldain Eagle claw version online. Believe they are exclusive to walmart so you would have to look in store. For more info those trokar are 6 for $6 but the eagle claw are 8 for I think 4$. They look like very good quality especially for half the price.

Well I'm gonna put these to the test tomorrow..my first foray into wacky senkos. All I've ever used until now is trick worms and havoc money makers.

Heat Exhaustion or Heat Stroke ~ Know the Signs
I grew up in Texas ,played alot of sports...even done some roofing and concrete in the summer. I've been fortunate to never have suffered anything serious heat related. That said a few summers ago I came close and decided well I'm not doing that dumb crap again.

Bass are Grateful Dead fans
I think bass have very diverse tastes in music. I caught a good one a while back while humming Morning Train by Sheena Easton.

They can't all be great days...
I had a day just like that last Sunday. Got 8 bites...landed 4...missed 1...lost 3. Pretty sad execution.

Struggling with the weather choices
For me the biggest weather consideration outside of the mentioned dangerous weather is wind. 30mph plus and I'm out...its just a PITA. If its bluebird and hot ill fish early and late if possible to negate that. All this being said I'd take cloudy and rainy day over anything.

How I relax on the bank after a good day of bassing
I often will sit on my tailgate have a big bottle of ice water and take it all in. Then when I get home its off to the patio with a beer or nice glass of whiskey with 2 rocks...or both if I'm celebrating a really good outing!

Busted.
Cheating or lying are two things I can't stand...maybe the most disgusting actions people can do. Throw in the fact that this was a benefit tourney...and for kids of all things. Some folks are just pathetic. I remember we had a benefit at a local bar and grill to raise funds for somebody diagnosed with cancer struggling to pay medical bills. They raised thousands of dollars but somebody broke into the bar and stole it. Turned out the thief was a family member of the cancer patient.....Wow.
