I used to really enjoy a mule but got kinda burned out on em. I do really like a white Russian or 3 in the winter but its way to heavy for a summer drink. We have a local bar that has super bloodys..but there again I got burned out on em.

What are your favorites? I don't drink cocktails often...when I do its usually gin and tonic with lime or vodka (titos) and soda with lime or lemon. Beyond that my hard liquor consumption is almost always whiskey on the rocks. Maybe a stray shot or two when I'm being dumb.

Well my perspective may be unique as a bank guy. Ill say this if somebody is in that big of a hurry then they should learn what this hobby is all about...relaxing and having fun. If 5 extra minutes at the ramp ruins someone's day on the water then they don't have the time to be fishing anyway. I had a run in with a boater one time years ago that sounds like the guy you ran into. I was in my early or mid 20s...guy was in his 50s I'd guess. So I'm standing there fishing off the dock and this dude pulls in lines up to back down the ramp and takes his ratchet straps off to unload. I grab my stuff to move and say hey how's it going? The guys glances and says are you gonna get off the fu$&$#@ dock or not? I set my stuff back down and started fishing. He unloads then walks up to the dock and says well? I said nope you had your chance so you can work around me or try to move me off the dock but I wouldn't suggest the second one. He waded out knee deep and crawled over the side.

Hands down its a black buzz bait and its not even close

I throw all types of moving baits throughout the year...lipless, bladed jigs, all types of cranks such as shallow divers,square bills, wake cranks, flatsides, buzzbaits. Hands down my two favorite are spinnerbaits and swim jigs.

This is why in threads that ask if you fish fast or slow\methodical I say methodical. This is also why I say I'm a grinder. Being a bank angler this is even more crucial at times seeing as your already limited on the water you can cover. I have a couple spots on my local ponds that always have bass on it around...sometimes they bite right away sometimes its a matter of waiting them out. I remember last summer fishing a big piece of shallow wood. Caught a bass on a worm first flip. Missed one on the second. Then I bet I worked that cover with 3 presentations from 3-4 angles for another 25 minutes. Finally on about the 60th cast I got her.

Anybody else throw this? I got really into super shallow cranking last year and on my quest to find baits I came across this little guy. I'm a big fan...and for $5 I'm surprised I don't hear more about it

I'd use a senko, frog and swim jig. All 3 are good in open water and also fish well in grass. Plus the swim jig is versatile by switching trailers also the senko can be fished weightless , weighted or wacky depending on conditions and cover.

What about a swim jig? Much larger and harder for gills to get a hold of...also comes thru weeds pretty well. Also it imitates a gill very well...and that's what your bass are likely eating with that many gills in the area

I caught my PB largemouth Of 8 3/4lbs on a white twister tail, grey eagle claw light rod ($15 at pamida when that was a thing), shimano walmart reel ( $15 ish bucks) and 8lb clear blue Stren.

Its a time of year thing. Bass move offshore post spawn and will stay out there for a while especially when its hot. Sure there are some bass up shallow all year but not near the concentration there was pre and during spawn. I'm a bank angler and post spawn can be very tough.

Ill agree with some of the above sentiments...keep calling the cops and fining people and the riff raff will kinda taper off...plus you will attract good customers that are looking to avoid that crap. I know I'd pay $50 extra to stay somewhere I didn't feel like my truck would get broke into or some jack@$% wouldn't beat on my door at 3am just to be a punk.

Frogs will absolutely work on hot bluebird days thrown into shade pockets and along shade lines. A Pop R can also be very good for this as well. Remember a frog doesn't always represent a frog to bass.. It just as easily passes for a bluegill or green sunfish lazily feeding on top or slowly dying. A white or silver one could pass for a small crappie or a shad.

So a while back I broke my Iaconelli rod I was using for weed less senkos, flukes and Texas rigs up to about 3\8ths. I was gonna order another ike rod but don't like the finger style handle grip on this generation. I like rods in the 7 to 7ft 4 range. Lets say budget up to $150. Recommendations?

That's exactly what I did. The pay increase was insignificant so that ended up not being a deciding factor. What made me decide to take it was having weekends and holidays off to spend with family. Also I get off at 330 so I can still fish weekday evenings spring thru fall. Another thing was I get away from some of the humdrum boring stuff and get involved in more projects. Also going to shorter shifts means yes I work more days a year but since I have to take less pto to have a day off I now accrue 21 vaca days a year. Lastly my girlfriend was super happy that we can do normal things like mowing or eating dinner before 730-8...which we can't do working 12s. So I weighed pros and cons...there was about 6 pros and the only con was no weekdays off. Therefore I had to make the sacrifice and take it.
