I've used these as a chatterbait trailer in the past. I'm talking about the regular zoom fluke not the super fluke. What are some other uses for these?

I don't think mines that old. Doesn't have any yellowing of the plastic. Is more beat up with a little more paint wore off.

Nope. After looking most of the ones selling used without a box in the shape mines in are going for $10-25 depending on color from what I've seen. Looks like I'm gonna fish it.

Yes mine is that clear skeleton red head color on the left. Its not in that nice a shape tho. I replaced them and will give it a shot. Or maybe ill sell it..those prices are dumb.

Well I have a new rebel P 71, a R2S bubble walker and an 80 size Berkley bullet pop in my TW cart. Should be a good start.

I'm the same way. I'm way to active a fisherman to throw something on the bottom and sit there. I used to love it but at some point that changed.

The bait I found is a straight up popper...its about the size of a rebel magnum pop r. Maybe 3 inches long or so.

Found one of these last year at my local lake. Its actually a large popper..not a typical spook. Is this bait worth fishing or should I hold onto it as a collectors item? Looking for info...is it a good bait?...when did they stop making them?

Precisely my friend. Both ways are right if the end result is the same.

We all like those hard explosive strikes. Be it a bone jarring thump on a jig that almost rips the rods out of your hands or a top water blow up that looks like you shot your bait with a shotgun. But I agree that often with bigger fish the bite is just different. Got on a buzz bait bite one time that several of the big fish...5-6lbs...just sucked the bait down. Don't know how many 6+lb fish I've caught on a jig or spinner bait where you just lose track of the bait. Buddy of mine was out frog fishing a few weeks back and missed a bite. Threw back at what he assumed by the bite was a dink and got her to bite again. Said it turned out to be a 5.5lb largemouth.

Do you have enough tackle? No the answer is always no. Even after the divorce is final..you need to leave the courthouse, go home and get on tacklewarehouse. There's nothing wrong with you..its everybody else.

I'm not a backreeler although I have done it. I'm not gonna poke the bear on this as my stance on using drag is staunch. But I'm certainly not insinuating in any way that drag is superior to backreel its just how I prefer to get the job done. I will say that to me the important elements are knowing how to keep the right amount of pressure on the fish, knowing when to hit the gas and lean on them and knowing when to back off and bow to them. If they give you an opening gain ground...if they wanna take drag let them. One of my proudest moments came years ago when I taught my lady how to fight a big fish on light gear. We used to cast twisters for walleye until almost ice up every late fall. Inevitability we would find our selves battling carp and buffalo sometimes of very large size. She was having trouble landing these as she didn't know rod angle, keeping pressure or letting pressure off when needed. One night we had a few wall eyes in the cooler and we were catching all kinds ofstuff...bass,walleye,crappie,white bass even a catfish. Well I ended up catching a carp and a buffalo...both around 15lbs...pretty much back to back. Soon she hooked up on one he made a strong run and popped the line. Retied and a few minutes later she was into another one...took one run and straightened the hook. She was pretty dejected so I adjusted her drag and gave her advice. She asked how do you always land these big guys? I said tell you what next one you hook ill walk you thru it. She hooked one a few minutes later so I began coaching her telling her when to reel and pull, the angle to keep the rod at to keep pressure so she did create slack and when to let off and let the fish run. She followed every word and several minutes later we had a big ole nasty carp in her hands. She was so happy...biggest fish she had ever caught. To say I was proud is an understatement. Some people say so what it's just a carp..well its not just a carp its a turning point. Most anglers can appreciate the significance of a catch like that.

My PB bass came on 6lb mono on a tiny crappie jig. I've caught carp over 30lbs on 6lb while throwing twisters for walleye. Learning proper fighting technique is important and from what I've seen its becoming a lost art.

I have been a bank bass angler for 20 years. While I'm far from an expert I'm also far from a newbie and consider myself to be a competent bass chaser. In my opinion you need both. There are guys that will argue that you can buy heavy enough spinning gear to do whatever. Then other guys will say you can buy BFS gear and do all the finesse tactics spinning guys can do on a baitcaster. To me there are some tactics suited for casting gear and some suited for spinning. Every pro that's out there fishing for a living has casting and spinning on deck. Again this is my opinion. But I have and always will have both.

Wind makes current, drives bait and the fish follow said bait. Wind is also is more common with low pressure which is also usually synonymous with better fishing. So for wind and barometric pressure are the 2 most important. I will also say that where I fish low light periods meaning early, late or cloudy rainy days are also more productive. All the things you listed are important but as eluded to above nothing is more important than fishing where fish are. You can have the absolute best conditions, best rod and reel and best bait ever made and if the bass are all in brush but your targeting rock guess what will happen?

Nobody in my family smokes besides my brother in law. Mom never did...but my dad has chewed for 45 years and he smoked when he was young but quit before I was born. Have a close buddy that smoked for years but gave it up a few years back. My best buddy smokes and has no interest in stopping...his wife is best friends with my lady and she is trying to quit as we speak. My girlfriends entire family smokes besides her. Myself I've maybe smoked a pack or two in 38 years. Every once in a while ill bum a few if I'm drunk then the next day wonder why it did it. But as I get older and drink less and less even my extremely infrequent smoking is growing more infrequent.

This is gonna be unpopular with some people but I hate fishing thick grass\weeds. I'm not saying its unproductive because its not but it is often times a PITA. It really limits the amount of baits you can throw unless you wanna pick weeds off all day. Also I never liked reeling in a bass smothered in weeds...its heavy, awkward and the fish can't even fight. My local pond is grass free luckily for me...everything else within an hour of me has alot of vegetation. This doesn't mean that I won't go out to a grass filled pond and smack some frog fish because I absolutely will. But if the bite is as good on a weed free pond as a weed full I will pick the weed free pond 100% of the time.
