  1. Why would I stay home?
  2. Pretty sure bass spawn in the 60-63 water temp.
  3. Yep. I've ordered from Tackle Warehouse dozens of times...I've never ordered something from there that said in stock that ended up out of stock on my order.
  4. I have the Tharp series money maker as well and agree its heavier than most medhvy rods ive used maybe like a mag medhvy or light heavy if that makes sense. I don't have a ton of time with it but have caught a few jig\ Trig fish on it and like it real well so far.
  5. So like last year we had early ice out, had some good warming and now the weather is 50s for high and 30s for lows. My buddy told me the water temp locally is 47 and its been there for a while. I never really know what to do when faced with these conditions. I have ideas of what to do in colder and warmer water but this weird middle ground always messes me up. Do largemouth feed well in these temps as long as they are stable temps or is it to cold? Is 47 moving bait temp or slow down temp this long after ice out?
  6. This...also will expand and say crappy conditions when others won't go such as cold weather or rainy\windy has helped me fool most of my big fish over the years
  7. My weakness is being a hypocrite. I always say that lure isn't important only location which I follow by saying keep it simple. Then i bring 6 or 7 rods with me.
  8. I really like the zoom super chunks in both sizes...also the zoom ultra vibe speed craw.
  9. The only something different I have over my bass buddies is I catch bigger bass then them...right @walt-14?
  10. Yum dingers...mister twister phenom worm...cotton Cordell super spot
  11. I yep gotta get the generations right my man. I'm a millennial...I'm also a grown 38 year old man with a real job, pay my taxes and don't go messing around where I shouldn't be. Despite what "they" want you to think about my generation we aren't all lazy, worthless and entitled.
  12. Sure you can do alot of weird things...don't mean you should
  13. Spinnerbait , jig....swim jig and senko are up there too
  14. My wifes friends with a lady whose husband was weed eating last summer kicked up a rock and now he's blind in that eye.
  15. I go out targeting bass 95% of the time with the exception being if there is a decent walleye bite going. If the bass are a no go then I will target bluegill or crappie...sometimes for sport or sometimes for an unplanned fish fry. Or this. Maybe its burgers , pork chops, a big ol rib eye ..you get the idea. Usually accompanied with some grilled green beans, asparagus or corn n the cob. Dessert usually consists of a generous pour of bourbon or scotch.
  16. Those fish that you see in those conditions get extremely spooky and almost impossible to catch. I've found if I fish in the area I'm seeing fish but target a little bit deeper water and fish for the ones lurking that haven't pushed up I'm much more successful.
  17. I'm thinking of maybe picking up a new one. Planning to throw mostly DT 4s, Bomber 100 and Frittsides. Budget up to $150ish. Suggestions?
  18. Spinner bait and swim jig are tied for me..lets say 1a and 1b...chatter baits are a distant 2nd
  19. Just throwing it out and seeing what happens? I don't think that's exclusive with being an old guy...I'm 37 and pretty much live my life that way.
  20. A brown bass is a rare fish around me! Think I caught 2 last year. The ponds I fish have some in them but I never seem to find them...consistently anyway.
  21. Ha...I see what you did there. Your humor is not lost on me sir!
  22. I'm using a 1/16oz head and never really stopping it but the problem is the area I'm in has flooded bad in the past so there is alot of random stickups that I can't see with the cloud cover and stained water. I tried it today and pulled it out if 4 snags in 3 casts...so that's out.
