  1. I use a falcon lowrider med mod. Launches the baits a mile & keeps em hooked up. It is a bit slow for heavy weeds tho.
  2. Can’t offer opinion on the quantum, but the avid-x is an exceptional rod for the price.
  3. I currently have 2 batteries I use for trolling motor. One is an older Cabelas that came with boat & the other I bought last season. I do a lot of trolling for trout &salmon so I run them down quickly. At the moment I have to disconnect the cables to switch batteries and do the same to charge both. Is there a switch I can buy to hook up to avoid changing cables all the time?
  4. St croix legend glass 7’11” heavy with a Abu Garcia 4601 C4 winch 3.8:1 with 15 lb fluoro
  5. On a lake in Maine my best day ever included northern pike, large & smallmouth, brown, rainbow, brook trout. Perch & crappie.....and a mystery that was either a large sucker or a fallfish. All caught on leadcore trolling sunken islands.
  6. Pack a few wire leaders & see if you can find some large pike that roam those waters
  7. For me balance is more important than weight. I try to use the biggest spinning reel that will balance the out the set up.
  8. Patience patience patience. Esox fishing is not for everyone. You are probably not doing anything wrong.

  11. Shimano Stella fj 3000 Loomis NRX 902s
  12. Try pushing in/out the spool release button when you put the side plate on. I have this problem when cleaning my Abu round reels.

  14. Pretty easy to catch. Use 1 dollar bills as bait
  15. St croix avid 7’6” medlite fast action. I have one and use for all sorts of stuff. Ned’s, tubes & steelhead
  16. I’ve caught a ton of stocked trout & a handful of small pike. I haven’t gone bass fishing yet this spring.
  17. Thanks. I got a shimano Stella 3000 on the way for the NRX 902s. I was gonna use the old pfluger supreme.
  18. Loomis nrx 802c 853c 894c and just added a 902s for some finesse. Haven’t had it out yet. The nrx is the most sensitive rod I have used.
