  1. Yes this is true, plus I hate paying more than 150$ on a rod because they are fragile
  2. I picked some up and was going to ask if anyone likes them, I saw they had a spring lock and thought it may be worth the extra few bucks if it saves money on the soft plastics https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/4x4_Little_Head_Swimbait_Jig_Heads_3pk/descpage-4X4LILH.html
  3. Happy Thanksgiving!
  4. I have heard this, the turkey releases a chemical similar to melatonin.
  5. Should of used this link darn spent 100 ish bucks would have liked to support you guys, I'll email them that you referred me there
  6. Nice man, I bought a bunch of tackle and lures I've been needing
  7. It's a little glitchy so refresh your page and it won't say the discount but the price will be lower than normal, for instance I ordered keitech easy shiners for 3.99 (they where listed as the normal price at 3.99 but they are actually usually higher
  8. I think everything in the store is 20% off, unless you wanted a better deal
  9. 20% off everything, Placed my order that was 150 worth of stuff for like 90$, seems like a good deal just alerting everyone of the early release
  10. I choose color based on whatever looks the best for a certain water color, clarity, temperature, forage, and aggression of the bass.
  11. I'll use a beaver Jr or cut down a standard beaver
  12. What's high end to me may not be high end to you but diawa (for me) is really good in that 100-150 price point, I like the fuego over a t wing tatula because on my tatulas you can feel the small amount of extra pressure needed to flip over the t wing when pressing down the thumb bar. Yes is a small complaint but I prefer the standard cone style level winds. If you are going to dump 300+ dollars into a brand you have not tried yet like a diawa, I STRONGLY encourage you to go to your local tackle shop and ask if you can hold it and play around with it, see how it feels in your hand.
  13. To cover up the lead wire you can go to a Michael's and tie Maribu or craft feathers under the lead wire and superglue them on, just another thought, although they usually don't care about the lead wire too much
  14. Maybe a defect maybe temp maybe line size or type I'm not sure but when they act up I wrap lead wire around the shank of the hooks and go out into the pool to fine tune them like a megabass vision 110.
  15. I have found this is the best option for me. I keep it really simple, I got a heavy rod for summertime frogging and flipping. A medium heavy for almost everything else, and a medium spinning rod for finesse
  16. Skipping for me is a uh oh no no, for me, if that fish is somewhere I have to skip well.... the fish has won Ouch :(. Maybe I'm a loner here but I am nervous investing in a rod over 100$, they are just so fragile. Where a reel can take a few drops much better. I actually buy those aluminum frame and rotor spinning reels that are "saltwater rated" like a pen fierce 3 just because they take an absolute beating
  17. 90% of my fishing I set the hook as soon as I feel it but reeling down to set the hook gives the fish an extra second or two to get it fully, I usually wait for two reasons, First is flipping with weight. unless im flipping a beaver or compact jig, I find when I am flipping light-medium cover with a bigger worm you need to give them a second because sense the bait is falling fast with a weight they may only bite the tail head etc and they need an extra second to fully suck it in compared to it being dragged on bottom or twitched and they suck it all in at once because its a slower moving bait. The second reason is when the fish just simply doesnt have it and drops it, so why set the hook yknow.
  18. Every year I always try to take away something new from everything I do in life. This year I learned how to catch active fish efficiently and catch finicky fish with moving baits. I also learned weather patterns and how they effect the bite. What have you guys learned?
  19. we mostly got milfoil, but looks to me like coontail as well, but im not a bioligist so maybe someone else knows
  20. They are way cheaper and are way more durable if you know how fragile fly rods are, they really thrive for trout with drys, nymphing is a little harder but doable.
  21. To put it simply, it's mostly marketing and the ability to cast using two hands comfortably. 7 foot rods have become popular over shorter rods for castability and accuracy. They are an "upgeade" but If you like the old school rods that are a glass or composite with pistol grip and catch bass effectivley on them keep doing it. There will be people saying "you need graphite to catch a bass" or "you need braid" or you need a new this or that it's all just marketing. I still use mono and copoly 90% of the time. Bass fishing as a whole has become a marketing scheme. It could be as easy as taking a can of large live Canadian nightcrawlers or shiners and dropshotting or Texas rigging them to throwing a eppinger daredevil spoon. I think most of us just like all the new products because it makes the sport fresh and from becoming stail
  22. Yes, but instead of being 80 it's 50, they do it every year or ish.
  23. It is crazy how electronics have changed the game, before electronics I remember my grandfather would sketch up the lake he was fishing and note where pieces of structure are in the lake for crappie like brush piles or rock piles. Man things have changed alot haven't they
  24. anything in the 4 inch range works well, flukes or swimbaits with tails cut off work well, craws imitate bluegill well,
