Bass Recipes
This is true ^ That is why you are not allowed to harvest bass smaller than 12" because they are healthy and can take the bigger basses spots, Bigger bass are just closer to natural death because they are older, so getting rid of the old ones in the long run is better for the environment. The culture has turned large mouth bass into a golden ox to be worshiped, just as the Eurasian culture puts carp on a pedastal. Both fish are not rare by any means but both cultures worship them as if they are a near extinct species. the issue is not about the fish but the culture.

Fish got tangled on broken line - what should/could I have done?
If the fish isnt gut hooked, the slack line will more than likley shake the bait. I find myself getting caught up on other peoples fishing line more than natural structure sometimes.

need help catching jumping bass
wow thats actually really interesting, I have never had any luck with catching these fish, perhaps I will give this a try next pre spawn season. I am embarressed to say I have never used a ned rig or TRD to bed fish, I think it would in theory work great because you prevent short strikes, I get a lot of nippers. You make a good point, I have seen carp doing this a lot.

need help catching jumping bass
Its like cruising bass in the pre spawn, very hard to catch because they are not thinking about eating, they are doing something else, what that is, I have no idea because I cannot ask them.

Bass during rain?
Rain has been nice here in SOCAL. fishing for me has been slow in the rain, not like last year, but I think thats because its been one big cold front for the past month, its usually 80-90 and its been 50-70, accasionally one day a week being 80. not normal SOCAL weather, and bass seem to be a little wierd acting.

Best trout rod
Fishing on the west coast, a lot of people do this, but I dont. If I have open water which is where 90% of trout fishing is done in our lakes and rivers/streams, I fish 2lb line and it is plenty. If you properly set your drag you can catch 15+ pound fish on 2lb line. I have caught a 9lb rainbow on 2lb line and fought it for around four minutes, I just let him swim around a ton and let drag peel, I also caught a 7lb trout (palamino) that fought even harder than the 9lber, and he took around five minutes. Then on top of all this, look at fly fishing, people catch big brown trout during hatches on 8x tippet and size 20-22 drys, 8x tippet is 1-1.5 pound line. Personally the fishing industry has made it this big statement that you need rods and heavy line to wrench in fish. This is not related to trout but it seems silly to fish 65lb braid on a rod that can only handle 20lbs of weight. the only reason I fish heavy braid like 65lb is because it doesnt dig into the spool and its easier to tie.

Bait Monkey Defeated.
I congragulate you! I try to spend as little as I can every year, I have only spent around $150, just getting soft plastic refills and trying swimbaiting with budget options. It can get really depressing spending hundreds of dollars on fishing, its become a materialistic sport that revolves around tackle more than catching fish. Most humble begennings of just needing a few eagle claw hooks for panfish and a new spool of monofilament can quickly lead into what many here do. Im not telling people what to do with their money, they worked hard for it. I just think its bad for the heart mind and soul.

What's The Hardest Bait/Lure To Fish with?
anything with treble hooks that gets deeper than five feet, living in a hit southern climate grass is alive from early april all the way till late December, then you have dead grass, and that stays around until January. have confidence brother, I have dedicated 5 hours to them thus far, one rod one bait mindset, its rough, gotten two bites, one got hooked, he jumped and threw the trebles. it was a five pounder id say moderatley. when I am struggling with these baits, I just think about when I started fishing, and how I went weeks without even getting a bite, and it really puts things in perspective.

Bass Recipes
Bass are better tasting than trout in my opinion, plus when you fillet them they dont have the annoying pin bones, have not ate many bass in my life, personally I just dont like the hastle of cleaning them, but they are amazing. Crappie are even better. We have clear water lakes here in SOCAL and the bass taste very good. we cook them simply by rolling them around in egg, and shaking them in a bag of flour, salt, and pepper. fry them in vegetable oil or whatever oil we got laying around.

Topwater On Spinning Reels
I understand, ya know I will say this, us leftys have been somewhat unlucky since we came into this world, scissors are right handed, gun magazine releases, computers have their keys specifically set up for right handed people, (The teachers never let me move the mouse from right to the left side so I use a mouse with my right hand very well) BUT... conventional casting reels are where we luck out

Strike King KVD Jerkbaits
two 110s lost in one day ?. I'd be getting a snorkel and going down for those guys. But yes I have heard good things about them, the 13 fishing whipper snapper is also good imo

Best trout rod
Ultralight or light for trout, anything graphite is good, line is more important, 2lb no more than 4lb, unless you want 6lb to a leader, try fishing mornings and evenings, bite gets killed after about 10-11am and picks back up 3-sunset. If you want to save yourself trouble, take a boat or kayak out, the shoreline is covered in people and can be a head ache with crossing lines, because alot of the water is landlocked privately.

Dedicated jig rod
I hope so, I cannot say the same for megabass rods, from my experience they have said to me if there are defects they will show in the first trip and its probably user error, took it back to the store and they accepted it with open arms. fished with it for about a week, it was really nice, untill the guides got loose, not quite sure why, it wasnt just one either, two of them where loose, have never had any rods have loose guides, probably a lemon but customer service put a bad taste in my mouth. wow thats nice, maybe I didnt get as kind of a megabass employee lol

Fall fishing grassy ponds
weedless stuff, fish it how you fished it in the summer.

Dedicated jig rod
G Loomis rods are nice if you can afford them, don't worry about warrantys as your first decision for purchasing, they always add fees fines, and usually are really stuck up when you ask to redeem the warranty. I would try to hold both in person, what I do is sneak a 10 foot long thing of mono and have a buddy tap the line with a pencil with the line going through the guides. Good way to figure out which one is more sensitive for you.

Gary Yamamoto Baits Sold to GSM
Personally I'd like to see quality degrade I'd it means the price tag goes down with it, 8$ for a bag of plastic is redicilous, I'd rather just put it towards a s waver or something that will last a long time and make memorable memories, and miserable ones as well

Adding scent/attractants to commercial soft plastics
Yum advertises a formula on their plastics and you can feel and smell it out of the bag, powerbait IMHO has the strongest scents out of the pack
